My daughter has been taking regular lessons with Long since 2015, beginning when she was 12 years…read moreold and continuing through leaving Southern California for college. Under Long's guidance she developed from a relative beginner to winning several USTA junior tournaments in both singles and doubles, and also making it to the finals of the CIF LA City Section individual championship (in doubles) 3 years in a row, as co-captain of the Granada Hills Charter tennis team. She is now away as a freshman in college and has recently been selected via tryouts for the very competitive traveling competition club tennis team at her college. None of her sustained success would have been possible without Long's guidance. He is both technical and patient in his teaching style, taking the time to explain and demonstrate until she would master it. This was always most evident in the serve he developed with her, which has been the key to her success. He keeps notes on progress and development areas, and always picks up at the next lesson right where left off on previous. Most importantly, Long is just a great guy who truly cares about and supports his students. He would come to both USTA and high school championship matches on his off time to watch her play, and address development areas at next lesson. Maybe the best thing I can say about Long's ability to connect with his students is that even though my daughter has left the area for college, she fully plans to continue with Long for lessons when she is home on her school breaks.
