This was our second time at the Gathering of Nations, and it was much better organized two years ago. The performances were absolutely stunning, the dancers and energy were mesmerizing and truly unforgettable. Unfortunately, everything else was a mess. We waited three hours at will call for wristbands, only to have the coliseum hit capacity. They clearly oversold tickets, and we missed the Grand Opening and night show. Food lines were also 2-3 hours long with not enough vendors. It was so frustrating that we didn't even return the next day. It's sad this was called "The Last Dance." The performances deserved far better organization. read more

We came for GON & had the most amazing experience. The grounds were nice & the way the venue was setup so people could flow & you could easily get around was much appreciated. The event itself was one of many. There was so much going on sound you, on top of great food & tribal dancing everywhere. It was truly a moving experience. My favorite part was all of the great people we met that I'll cherish forever. The vendors were funny & friendly, their performers as well, & the people were amazing. The new seating is WORSE than the old!!! Your knees are literally jammed into the back of the seat in front of you. They've also hung advertising billboards along the top significantly obstructing your view for the concert. Was this a 2 million dollar joke? read more

Was here for the low class car show and the show was awesome, place was clean and the restroom were clean and the food concession stand were awesome. There was cars inside and outside of the coliseum so can't wait for next year car show here. read more

We had floor tickets to Bob Seger and boy they had us packed in like sardines. You had to stand up for anyone to walk in front of you. I passed two men's restrooms (both ways leaving the floor) before I got to the women's restroom, which I thought was odd. There should be twice as many restrooms for women. There isn't a lot of room to walk when there is a beer line on the right and bathroom line on the left. Not my first choice for a concert venue but it worked out okay. The sound was good for the concert, which was nice. Tingley isn't known for its awesome acoustics. read more

Terrible venue. The only reason it got 2 stars is the concert was great. First, getting in is cumbersome and difficult. Traffic backs up because of the parking situation and two lines taking money for parking. Then when you get to the parking booth, they give you a sheet of paper saying basically you need a clear bag. Would have been nice to know this when we purchased tickets so we could plan accordingly. The metal detector situation is such that long lines form to get people through. Seemed they didn't have enough staff available. Then, get inside and it is sweltering hot and humid. Very uncomfortable. I know they said they just upgraded the HVAC systems. Wonder what is was like before. Journey was awesome though I will not be returning for a concert in Tingley again. Just too much trouble. Our experience on the previous Sunday at Rio Rancho Events Center was totally opposite of what we experienced to TIngley. Tingley is an embarrassment to Albuquerque. read more

This location has been around for a long time. It can be a great venue for concerts depending on how they configure the stage. The concessions seem to be confusing for the workers. I got two different answers to my question. At on point they were going to send me to another location then discovered they could to it at the location I was at. I am thinking that it is a training issue. Staff is not very friendly. read more

Old af and probably not ADA compliant. I try to be forgiving of older structures, but when Tingley Coliseum's webpage boasts "radical upgrades", surely they are referencing the restrooms and that's all. They tout this to be a "legendary" venue yet it is a dreadful trek in and out for a major concert. The seats are really what put me over the edge. These chairs are sized for small children, not grown adults in 2019. My one bad knee had no chance so I opted to stand through the two hour set. Tingley Coliseum is a joke. The line for parking went for miles and was backed up on the freeway at 4:00 PM. The show we were going to see started at 7PM so we were lucky we left early. There weren't any traffic controllers and the wait was long. Once inside the coliseum it was a cramped corridor with people cramming inside because they make you wait to get in until they open the doors for everyone. They need to open the doors earlier so people can enter when they arrive, it'd go so much better. I didnt even want to buy anything because the lines were so dang long because everyone got inside at the same time. Pretty dumb! We got to our seats and sat down, only to find our knees crammed into the seats in front of us. You pay extra for a seat back but you are crammed in and can't move! You have to stand up every time someone walks in front of you and once all the people are seated, for get it!! It is sooooo hot in there we were sweating profusely (and I was in a short summer dress.) People were leaving half way through the show because of the conditions at Tingley Coliseum. The concert was the only good thing about this place but your head and neck are going to hurt because of the seating issues. There are large columns blocking your view of the large monitors if your seated in the vicinity of one of those. We wont be going again until they have replaced those seats and give people a few inches to move! I experienced back pain and a migraine the following day, its that bad! I will never go back to Tingley Coliseum. Getting in was a hassle, parking is $10 after paying over $100 for the concert ticket. Was given a paper saying only 4x6 bags would be allowed in so I put all essentials in my pockets only to see every woman carrying in a bag, even large ones. Seating is terrible with no room for your legs and you end up squished right up to your neighbor which is awkward if a stranger. Beer lines are so long it is not even worth trying. I was going to rate a 2 but Jerry saved my experience. My wife, son and I visited for the monster trucks. My seats were taken, however I was not too concerned since I'm a big guy and felt very uncomfortable asking them to scoot over so I can squish myself in. I found some seats at the top of the section, but I still felt like I was almost sitting on the lady below me (I'm sorry by the way!) I searched for someone to help and spoke with Jerry who was at the front doors. I gave her my reasoning and she accommodated me with another seating arrangement. This alone let me add 2 more stars. It's a small venue, but I'll be more than happy to purchase tickets in the areas where there are benches in the future. Thank you Jerry!! read more

Clayton A nails this one: the interior is an eyesore and yeah, this ain't your father's Coliseum. It is fascinating how there seem to be no rules or regulations regarding the titles of structures, or businesses in general, for that matter. This place is a bistro, that's a gastropub, there's a café and over there a caffé, nevermind they don't actually serve coffee. This place is a Coliseum as much as my home is a stadium. Thankfully, it doesn't have a corporate precursor; Intel Coliseum would make this review undigestible. I will point out the relative irony concerning the below-ground tunnels that allow patrons to get from one side to another. This architectural hallmark does jive with the Roman ancestor, and lucky for us it's not teeming with enslaved or deceased gladiators. The irony concerns New Mexican structures in general. Homes and even office buildings throughout the state generally do not include lower levels. Got a home with a basement? Consider yourself very lucky. Until you explore its creepy corners, anyway. read more

Not impressed. The coliseum looks like dirty old gym. The seats were uncomfortable. The set up of the stage looked messy. I don't recall a circus being as sexual as this one with booty shorts and belly shirts all around. This performance was not child friendly. The acrobats jumping around in mid air was impressive. Tingley Coliseum is quite the eyesore --- at least from inside --- and so that drags down its rating significantly. Otherwise, it's really hardly a Coliseum and in fact should be considered an insult to the Roman structure that someone puts them in the same category. This site is on par with a high school gym in terms of seating, arrangement and the types of shows it attracts. I'd probably give it one less star, but I feel like that might be a slight to the whole state of New Mexico. read more

I'm going to give this place a pretty good review at least for seeing a concert. Went to Panic at the Disco. We were floor row 20 center but it looked as if there would not be a bad seat in the house. Food options were fine and certainly cheaper than I expected. Bathrooms disgusting. Came here for Gigantour, stood outside in the cold for a long time in line, waiting for them to release us inside. Most vendors inside only take cash. They have an ATM inside, but you know the charges. Arena was medium size, hard concrete floor, and the sound quality only sounds good from far away distance, as being close to the stage was a bad idea, too much distortion. I would suggest getting far end tickets, as it sounds much better there. read more

Went for the Cruisin the 505 concert. I would say this was the worst experience I've ever had at a concert. This event center is horrible. Started off with security informing everyone in line that if their purses were larger than 4 x 6 the were not allowed in. My cross body bag was barley bigger by an inch. They made me buy a clear bag for $10 empty my purse in there and our my empty purse in there. They said it's in their website I just checked but it's not. Doors were supposed to open at 6 but they didn't let us in till 6:45. The line to buy beer was down the stairs, which is dumb. The security guard who said my purse was too big was trying to be someone special and ruining our good time when the show finally started which was supposed to start at 7 but didn't start till close to 8. Also I know the tickets say artists are subject to change, but I initially bought the tickets cause Baby Bash and MC Magic were performing but Baby bash didn't show up and neither did Brenton Wood. Gave 2 stars because security and bag policy was ridiculous and the show was not on time. It also was Soo hot in the facility because they had us packed like sardines. The Rio Rancho event center is definitely a better place to catch an indoor show. read more

Wow first of all we was here for the circus and seemed like the circus was outside. Started off ok nice long line from gate outside under the tunnel from the horse race track. Then as soon as they opened the gate it was a mad house every man woman and child for themselves. No organization at all. Glad the nephews did not get separated. Had no line and people were just all rushing in at the same time. Very poor organization on the circuit part. The show itself was not the greatest but well at least we had front row box seats in the center. The facility itself was ok. Trash all over from the previous show and no AC and was hot inside facility. Not the worse facility or event I been to but also not impressed by it either. Hey guess what?!? It's 2017. It's ridiculous that credit cards aren't taken to pay for parking. After waiting 20 minutes in line, we were told only cash is accepted. There weren't any signs or employees letting people know before hand. Get with the times. Oh and of course they also don't take credit cards at the concession stands either. This venue is extremely outdated. The seats are so close together it physically contorts your body in ways that are ergonomically unsafe. After enduring the seats that contort you into positions reminiscent of Dante's hell, the acoustics are so terrible that if you don't already know the lyrics to the songs you can't understand them. Then to top off the night, you have to wait for hours in traffic that isn't managed at all - it's every man, woman, and child for themselves. It's 2018 - wake up! read more

Okay. So it's not the prettiest place in the world, but it is what we have and a big part of New Mexico's history. I've been attending events at Tingley Coliseum since I was 4 years old. Granted, most were rodeos where the music performers played in the middle of the arena covered in dirt, on a round stage that rotated. The big draw was the rodeo, not the music. The facility was designed for this purpose, not concerts. Tingley Coliseum has served it's purpose well! New Mexico has been and remains a rural state clinging to it's roots. At 19 when I first saw Elton John in concert at the Hollywood Bowl, I was a dumb kid FROM Albuquerque. I was in awe of the performer and the location. The best part of it all was when they turned off the search lights, indicating that the "Star" had been found. I just left the Elton John Concert at Tingley Coliseum. All I can say is phenomenal! Tonight Albuquerque's Tingley Coliseum was the place to BE. If the Coliseum had search lights they would have gone dark. Are you going for the event, or to complain about your surroundings? Cowboy up! You are in manyana land. We are finally getting attractions that are not rooted in the rodeo and changes will come tomorrow. read more

Apparently the management of this facility has not heard about the American Disabilities Act. There is no place to drop off disabled people close to the coliseum. Handicap parking is 1/4 mile away from the entrance and you walk up and down a tunnel, and 1/2 around the facility before reaching an entrance. Three elderly people attended a recent graduation and suffered before and after the ceremony because of the accessibility issue. read more

We will Never Ever return to Expo New Mexico grounds. NEVER. Went to Elton John concert. Paid $350 for two tickets. That's not on ENM, but we got in Traffic Line on Louisiana South on I-40 overpass at 7:15. Concert started at 8. We were a mile away. Did not get to seats until 8:30!!!!!!! Why? Zero traffic control. It was an insane free for all. Expo did not even TRY to coordinate the traffic. But to make matters far worse, they had the gall to charge $10 for parking. The pay terminals were the primary reason for the backup. Expo's insane greed for that $10 caused us to miss $100 worth of concert. Other people did not get to their seats until 9pm, an hour after concert start due to Expo's gross ineptitude and greed. We will NEVER return. Not for the fair, not for anything. They will never delay us like that again to get their Parking fee or any other money from us. It was HORRIBLE! Can I give them 0 stars? read more

This has got to be the worst venue I've ever been to and I have lived in six states. The seating is ridiculous. My knees were crammed up into the chair in front of me the entire time. My mother who went with me has a bad knee and we couldn't even get her in her seat. Thank goodness A man On an aisle seat offered up his seat so she could even sit down. So now we can't even sit together. We went to go see Elton John who was amazing or at least I think he was. Sound system was absolutely horrible. The music was actually distorted. People behind me were smoking pot and spilled a beer down my back. The staff that works there actually saw the people smoking and ask them if they were smoking and they said no and the staff just walked away.You cannot sit in the seat without touching the person next to you. There are two tiny screens up by the stage and that is it. No big screen and if you're not up by the stage you can't see them anyway. $100 tickets and we ended up leaving about an hour into the show. We were so uncomfortable and couldn't even enjoy the music because of the horrible sound. The only good note we missed all the traffic leaving. I would never recommend seeing anybody in this venue. It's completely run down, outdated and surprisingly not handicap accessible. This place should be bulldozed down. read more
