Once I reached my car, I got a call from the front desk staff letting me know that actually, they could see me today. I was pleasantly surprised, and very appreciative! I was seen by Dr. Mordecai Lightman. I must say, I had some anxiety going into my dental appointment because I hadn't been as on top of my flossing as I should have been. I have been trying to rectify that and reestablish that as a habit, but I was still nervous about what they would say when I arrived. I had even pushed back my appointment once or twice as a result. Thankfully, that anxiety and dread was unfounded. Dr. Lightman was SO kind and nonjudgmental. He really took his time on my teeth, was very gentle, explained every aspect of my care, and even took the time to double check that I knew how to floss correctly and showed me how flossing should feel like. He was a delight to chat with as well! I am sad that he's generally retired and only picks up here and there. He's a true gem of a human and a gift to the practice. I wish I could have him every time! Everyone I have encountered at this practice is incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. I couldn't recommend this dental office enough :').

I came in at 230 same day. I spoke to three different ladies and they were all extremely caring and genuinely helpful. Coming in, I was greeted with warm smiles and I told them I was in pain and they were extra welcoming and eager to assist. I had my 7 year old with me and they reassured me I can have him in the dental office too. (Kid friendly!) since my son was waiting with me while I was getting a procedure done, the other ladies were very nice to charge my phone and change his seat to a comfy one! Grateful for the extra care given :) My dental assistant was Jenny and from the get, she was extremely careful and very sweet. I told her I was in pain and she was very quick to help and make sure I was comfy. I also had the newest Dentist, Dr. Rice. (Former resident at a veterans hospital). Dr. Kint said I did not need deep cleaning and proceeded to give me a normal cleaning. Seeing that I was in pain (those things dig into the upper palette), the doctor stepped in and used bite wings, standing directly next to the x-ray machine while he gave orders to the hygienist to operate the x-ray machine. No problem for me, but it seems weird for the doctor to expose himself to x-rays like that on a daily basis. I at least had the lead bib; the doctor had no protection and was standing right next to the x-ray. Onto the cleaning, which didn't amount to much. They didn't clean my teeth. The hygienist polished them, but did nothing about tartar. No scraping, which I'm accustomed to at all my dental visits. The doctor told me that I "didn't have plaque" which seems suspicious to me, as I hadn't seen a dentist in about 8 months at that point. I *always* have tartar that needs to be scraped off, and my understanding is that tartar is what plaque becomes. I do take care of my teeth but tartar has always been a problem for me. The hygienist seemed new to the job and the doctor was extremely dismissive of my medical condition which is why I'm on Medi-Cal. They scheduled me for a full-cost cleaning for 6 months later, which I'm about to cancel because I simply don't trust this place. Again, maybe it's because I'm on Medi-Cal. If you've got money, your experience may be different.

So very convenient. I do not use this practice: while the office is well run, the cleanings are excellent and the location is very convenient - their intake forms, all nine of them are on a tablet in their office and/or the link is sent to your phone. For my husband, we had to fill out the forms 5+ times because the system keeps glitching and everything you filled out previously doesn't get saved. The forms cannot be filled out on paper and they literally cannot start treatment like take a x-ray without all the forms being filled out. It's a nightmare if you are a new patient getting registered.
