Not only did Buddy meet me at the door and welcome me, but he was very knowledgeable about all of the items I was looking for. Even convinced me that I should try a couple pricey scotches somewhere before I spent the money on an expensive bottle. The store was packed full of just about anything you want and if he didn't have it, he would suggest an alternate you might like or will place special orders just for you. We came in here and grabbed some rum. They had free ice in the machine outside, which was an added bonus! Their wine selection seemed to be more of the cheaper stuff. Their liquor selection had all the regular favorites, with some weirder cheaper brands that I hadn't heard off. The beer selection did a good job of showcasing some DFW Metroplex beers, and even had some Austin breweries. There aren't many brewery options in Cumby, Tx, but this store sells plenty of beers from elsewhere. This liquor store seems to be a converted home along the highway. You can see how they just knocked the walls out to build out the liquor showroom retail floor. But the back rooms seem to be in use as storage and office space. The clerks were friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. We grabbed some mixers and the free ice, and were on our way!

I was pretty excited to discover the location and super excited to know I could get lots of Dallas craft beers that are not so easy to find in Austin. I guess people in the middle of nowhere Texas aren't such big fans of craft beer. Why, y'all? There is so much more out there than Coors, Miller, and Bud. Either way, what's done is done and I'm going to go be sad about the state of the world and how come truly awesome businesses sometimes have to go out of business. Life isn't fair, I guess. If craft beer is your thing, and it totally should be, they are having awesome sales right now. I got four beer glasses, two four-packs of cider, and two large bottles of beer for less than $40. The sales are even better now, so go stock up on your favorites or, hell, get some new stuff to try because it's cheap.
