One of my favorite art galleries in Makati, due to its quiet location, is most likely Tin-Aw, which takes its name from a Filipino phrase that is meant to describe "clear water." This art gallery has been touted as one of Manila's top contemporary art galleries to visit, and with good reason. Located at the ground floor of the Somerset Olympia building, Tin-Aw is situated at the heart of the Makati Central Business District, but relatively hidden away from all the noise and confusion that characterize the more commercial parts of the city. Renowned contemporary visual artists, such as Cian Dayrit, Goldie Poblador, Leo Abaya, Mark Salvatus and many more have exhibited their works within the gallery, both in solo and group shows. While most of the art that goes on display are paintings, sometimes Tin-Aw exhibits installation art, mixed media, video art and more. read more
