I always enjoy digging deeper into the arts and culture scene in the Philippines. I've been away for some time and I think I'm at this point in my life where art appreciation is much more interesting that superficial clubbing... I've gone out and seen exhibitions in the galleries and museums in Manila and this is one of my favorite ones. Galleria Duemila is the longest running commercial gallery in the country is probably one of the most reputable cultural hubs in the city. Its primary goal is to give more prominent international and local exposure to Filipino artists who's works include sculptures, installations, contemporary paintings, mixed media, and others. They also have curated some works of well-known 20th Century Master Artists such as Fernando Zobel, Bencab, Onib Olmedo, Romulo Olazo, Pacita Abad, and many more! Breathtaking pieces capture every visitor's attention and the Galleria also hosts musical events, readings, talks, and other cultural events that art and culture aficionados can immerse themselves with. their relationships with not only local institutions and patrons but also with international markets help in keeping them fresh and truly relevant in promoting Philippine arts and culture.
Definitely interesting to check out aside from the other galleries and museums. read more
