Everything was clean, landscaping was amazing, and everything seemed kept up well. The reception hall seemed versatile and the grounds can be used in may different ways. Lots of natural beauty but also has room to individualize everything. The Lodge was comfortable and had lots of cool features. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. They were always around checking in, helping in whatever way they could. The 3 cats on the property were bit hits with our group too.

Stunning vineyard and incredible wine! I got married here this past June and it was a magical day…read more With the wedding package, you get the vineyard to yourself for the whole day. It is such a picturesque place to get married. We also rented the old historic house for our wedding party to stay in for the whole weekend. Definitely a necessity since the venue is 20 minutes away from the nearest town and any hotels. The whole venue is perfect for a rustic wedding aesthetic. Lindsay, who coordinated the contracts and who I communicated with, was lovely and kind. The vineyard is not open during the week, so sometimes communication was slow. I was surprised on the day of our wedding, no one from the vineyard was present (a part from the bartenders). We had a few issues come up that would've nice to workout with venue staff, but we are easygoing people and made it work. It is the most affordable wedding venue I could find in the general STL area. There were a few extra costs like the wedding arch and linens, but those are minuscule in the grand scheme of things. I would definitely recommend visiting the vineyard for wonderful wine and cheese boards on the weekend or if you are looking for a stunning venue for your next event!

The breakfast was not at all what I have come to expect from a B&B. Cereal, a bit of fruit, bagels and a pastry. Nothing homemade, no protein, nothing but carbs and not even very good quality. The coffee was standard Maxwell House. Finally, the proprietor, stood over us the entire time we were eating, both days. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. I felt like I not only need to eat my mediocre breakfast, but needed to make conversation as well. As SOON as I took my last bite of each food item, she would snatch the plate away. Very weird!

The prices were super reasonable, the food was absolutely delicious, and Donna catered to every request we had. Splendid does not do tastings, which I was slightly concerned about. She sent pics and tailored the menu to pretty much exactly what I wanted. Our menu consisted of Pesto Cheese Chicken Breast, Dijon Salmon (which they cut under a heat lamp on a wooden cutting board, gorgeous!), Mandarin Orange Field Green Salad, Red Roasted Potatoes, and Zucchini Wrapper Asparagus Spears. Everything was tender, moist, and super tasty! Our guests could not say enough about it! We were allowed to keep all of the leftovers. We had forgotten plates and flatware for the cake, our venue owner chased down the catering van, and Donna graciously gave us plates and flatware from her stock. We would recommend splendid to anyone having an event in Warrenton or surrounding area, fabulous job, beautiful set-up, and wonder food!
