They were incredibly friendly and professional from start to finish. If I'm being honest, my request was full on stanning, but I just really wanted Luka to know that I thought their work was beautiful and hoped we could work together. Days leading up to the appointment, Luka was very clear in their communication with me. The appointment itself was great. It was very nice to explore all kinds of topics with Luka, while quiet time was sweetly woven in. We even shared the lunch break together. The short of it is - I'm honored that I got to know Luka and really happy that I have a couple of beautiful pieces from them. I'm already thinking about the next two I'd like to ask them to work on.

The guys in the shop were super cool, very friendly and personable. Sandroni was the one that did my tragus piercing. He was very knowledgeable, definitely knew what he was doing. Explained all of the dos and don't, as well as the whole process of the piercing. I have to say, out of all of my piercings, this one did not hurt and wasn't even red or swollen right after and even throughout the healing process. He did a great job! The room was super clean and up to date. I would definitely recommend this shop for a piercing, ask for Sandroni Oh and go on your birthday so the price of the piercing is free (Still have to pay for jewelry so don't get crazy)

I have 3 other tattoos from different places but I had looked through the social media of this place and I I really loved their work. And I wanted a fairly simple design- a rose, on my shoulder. Given that I had seen several roses on their IG and I loved all of them, I thought, why not- let's give it a go. The lady at the front desk assigned me to an artist. He was running an errand, but as soon as he came back, he met with me. I'm going to pause here and say that as a caveat- I absolutely love my tattoo that I had done that day and the artist turned out to be a real sweetie pie and I absolutely would go back here to get a tattoo. But I do have some constructive criticism for the man who tattoo'd me. He was kind of quick to do the consultation. I showed him a pic for inspiration for the color and a couple of others for the shape and design. He came back roughly an hour later with a shape that was not at all what I asked for and he seemed kind of agitated when I told him it wasn't really what I was looking for. I felt really bad because this had taken him so long to do and I would be frustrated too. Just as a bit of advice- it would probably be helpful if you have the client message you the pics for inspiration to your instagram or email so you can reference as you are in the back doing your sketches. He went back to do another sketch and it took another hour. I had arrived at the shop pretty much at opening (12 pm) and we didn't get started on my tattoo until 2:30. He warmed up to me and was kind once the tattoo'ing started but it kind of made me feel like he just didn't like me and maybe didn't want to do this tattoo or something and I felt kind of awkward. I'm just writing this to hopefully help the artist with his consultations and bedside manner. He was a very gentle tattoo'er. A good artist. If he was having a bad day or something- I totally get it. We are all human. And I'm not writing any of this to be mean. Just hopefully helpful. Again, I do recommend this place and will be going back myself. It may have been an off day. But my experience could have been better.

I booked 3 hours away from home to get a cover-up done by an artist I choose after researching for…read moremany months. Because, I wasn't able to come in for a consult due to the distance, when I booked I was told the artist would be in touch with me via phone to talk about the upcoming appt. I sent photos of existing tattoo as requested. I never received that phone call. Instead, I had to contact the artist multiple times through social media to inquire about ideas and options (it was going to be a difficult job), as I wasn't able to freely choose a design due to the complexity of the cover-up. The artist put me off for several weeks only after asking again, he said he would work on a sketch and send it to me the following day (4 days before the appt). This never happened. When I arrived, after a 3 hour trip the artist had no real idea what he planned to do and probably only looked at the photos I sent WEEKS before, like 5 min before my appt. So, as the clock was ticking on my 4 hour time slot , I had to frantically Google images to give him an idea of what I liked. He drew it directly onto my foot over the existing tattoo. As you can imagine, it was quite difficult to envision the finshed work over the the existing ink AND upside down. The pressure was on though, as we are already an hour into the 4. I asked for a realism style and while the tattoo is done well, it's not what I expected or what we discussed (to the extent that could be done via social media). Because, I had a tough time with the sides of my foot holding color, I expressed concern that may happen again. The artist offered a "free" touch-up after it healed. Again because I had trouble with my foot in the past, I wanted to be absolutely sure I was doing everything correctly. So, I sent several emails over the course of the first 2 weeks noticing some color had lifted from the sides (I felt due to no fault of the artist). The artist was vague, abrupt and eventually down right rude and nasty claiming I didn't follow care instructions with no evidence I hadn't (other than telling him I left it covered the very first night- he discouraged it and I never covered it again -only lightly with a handkerchief while in the 95° summer sun - which is ON the care sheet he sent home with me btw). He recanted his touch-up offer and told me I'd have to pay additional keeping in mind having to make another 6 hour round trip, and for a tattoo I was WAY overcharged for in the first place for the size and time invested. $568 to be exact...my foot isn't THAT big. He touted how he cut me some great deal - don't think so - and said that all my questions and request for a touch-up after healing was insulting and that I was basically asking too many questions and was annoyed with receiving so many emails regarding healing and care. He said I could email or call if I had any questions.... I did...only to be practically berated for doing so. It's true, I should have been more vocal up front about my issues and concerns througout the process and that's on me. But what ISN'T is the poor professionalism, customer service and fair pricing for a permanent thing that will be forever a part of me. All that to say, while he does do good work, I'd look elsewhere if you want to find someone who listens, is fair, who understands the healing process isn't always "perfect" (esp on difficult body parts), and is genuinely concerned about customer service and doesn't backpedal when he feels it suits him.

We called the shop, I told the lady I wanted a small finger tattoo and hubby wanted a word behind his ear- she's like oh yeah come at 3 and we can get you in! We get there at 3, walk in, there's quite a few people just sitting in the chairs that I assume work there? The lady I spoke with on the phone welcomed us and had the tattoo guy come over. He seemed irritated off the bat, and asked to see what I wanted. I pulled it up and he's looking at it and immediately says he's not doing it because it won't look good. Wait, what? It's a small finger tattoo that's on someone else's finger, so clearly it's not impossible. The tattoo artist then proceeds to say something to the lady about having so and so do it cause "they're not doing shit." He clearly did not want to be bothered and was so rude- so they told us that we could come back on Saturday as "walk ins" and the girl started saying something about some people feel comfortable doing finger tattoos, others don't.... So I told you what I wanted on the phone, you told me it could be done, we show up and deal with an attitude from an employee?!? We should have the attitude for you wasting our time! I will gladly take my money else where smh.

Mike & Kat are calm, cool, collected, well-read, experienced in trade & life, and can lead a storyline while you're under the pin-pricks of tapestry creation. I found them through YELP. Yes, I relied on YELP for assistance... a trail of crumbs if you will. From "here" to the Spiritus site and then to the artists ... I found in Kat's gallery nuances in "self-discovery" and imagination my artist, stylist and Doctor of Soul. My bond to Kat is on my upper back (once healed - a photo will be posted). Two 3 - 3.5 hour sessions did the trick. Caduceus symbol using inks of black, gray and shades of gray were the goal. Kat roared past the goal and blew me away with grace and understanding of my intent. Along the way, Mike & Kat spoke with me, to me, about movies, books, bourbon, music, and explained some of the art and photos in their really, really unique studio. My first session had me discovering a B&W photo of Richmond, Virginia just post-Civil War. Totally destroyed but with a Greek columned building standing. Because Caduceus is a Greek symbol, we talked about the South, the war and loads of other things. Kat and I talked energy, foods, places we've lived and want to see, Short North pubs and bars, dreams and a truck load of other things.... while she calmly placed herself, her work, onto my living canvas. Loved it all. Spiritus is an experience, a great experience. Mike & Kat "got it going on" and should help experienced and/or newbies who wants style and soul built into their passion for a tattoo. Go see them - let them be a part of your life - for sure.

I couldn't find anything on the interwebs that really conveyed what I wanted it to. I found artist Chris Barton on Instagram and after following him for a while I decided that his style was something I loved and that I though would suit the piece well. We emailed back and forth a few times with a pretty vague description of what I was hoping for, and I had to set my appointment out 8 weeks in advance (they were busy, a great sign!). I didn't see the sketch until I arrived which worried me a bit, but all my fears were calmed the minute I looked at it! I explained my concerns with past tattoo artists who had heavy hands, causing some scarring underneath the tattoo. As someone with darker skin, this is a real concern! He took his time, paid attention to every single detail, and the result was perfect. You could see the artists around the studio were all extremely dedicated to their crafts and styles, and that's why I still sing their praises though I haven't gotten any more tattoos since then.
