We all liked it so much we booked again for another 2 weeks next year. (Even our 12 year old daughter was happy - helped along by the heated outdoor pool, pool/games room and Grumpy Pete's bar/board games/Internet room). The pitch sizes were good and the electric hook up superb (16amp all round). The toilet blocks and washing up facilities were always clean and have plenty of character (they're not just prefab buildings in the middle of the site). There are plenty of water/grey waste points around the site but you're best off using chemical toilet disposal point for your grey waste for ease of use. The local beach is fantastic and only a mile away (Widemouth Bay). Dogs are allowed on the South beach (which was the quieter beach). Whether on the North or South, the beaches were superb with plenty to do. Great sand, rock pools, shallow pools and superb waves for boarding. The staff were always helpful and managed to act 'over and above the call of duty' on more than one occasion. They made us feel as if we'd known them for years and were part of their extended family. Simply brilliant!

From Whitsun to the start of the Autumn term our outdoor swimming pool is open and kept heated to around 28 degrees; Grumpy Pete's Bar serves local ales and freshly ground coffee and our shop provides for most essentials. During the main school summer holiday we have our own takeaway serving freshly cooked meals using locally sourced ingredients. You are welcome to take your food back to your tent or caravan or eat it in Grumpy Pete's, perhaps with a cool beer to wash it down. Ideally situated to explore Cornwall and the attractions of North Devon budemeadows is a great place for a family holiday and in the off season is a quiet bolt hole for a bit of peace when the summer crowds have departed. Awful, awful company…read more They miss out entire villages on their bus route, but if you phone them up they will happily lie to you and tell you the bus is on its way. If you complain by email they will lie to you and tell you they ran the bus to schedule. They have now admitted it, but they won't refund the taxi costs I incurred. They have sent me a bunch of useless vouchers for shops I never visit though. If I could give them zero stars I would. I realise that things go wrong, but to deny it and lie to your customers is NOT the way to handle it.
