Overall, grateful this place exists.

They have cool unique options including alcohol, non-alcohol, ciders, wines. Store is nice and clean and easy to navigate. Not sure what his name is but the manager there was SUPER helpful and I showed him a bunch of beers I wanted but they didnt have it in stock. So he basically went on a shopping trip with me around the store to help me find similar choices to the ones I was showing him. Only bad thing is that there aren't prices shown on anything but I don't think its to rip you off or anything, everything seems fairly priced and if you pay cash you get a small discount. I also noticed after that when I checked in on Yelp, there was a 10% off coupon!

They are not welcoming, but they ARE cheap in the other sense. My bottle of wine was put in a paper bag small enough for a couple of candy bars-when I asked for a bag that would actually hold the wine, the cashier told me it would be 25 cents more. Anyone viewing this place as a "discount" store probably hasn't been to any liquor stores off of Staten Island, where it seems that pricing wine and liquor higher than most anywhere else is the rule, not the exception. Pay the toll and go to Bayway World right across the Goethels Bridge, or go to Super Buy Rite right at the Holland Tunnel entrance in Jersey City. See how you're being ripped off by virtually every Staten Island liquor store with the EXECPTION of SI Discount Liquor on Forest-an oasis in a desert of maddeningly price gouging Staten Island liquor stores. Pete Milano's isn't worth visiting. Spend your money elsewhere. Also note that every positive review is between 4-9 years old. The current owners are trading on the Pete Milano name. Shame on them.

A few minutes later, another customer approaches the counter and the Asian lady tells him to go to the other counter. When she finishes helping the customer purchasing the lottery tickets, she then walks over to the other customer. My presence was not acknowledged by this worker who told the customer behind me to go to another register as I waited. The customer saw me approach and began apologizing although it was not his fault or wrongdoing. The worker still never acknowledged what she did! The worker shrugged her shoulders as I told her "I am not making a purchase here" , left my wine on the counter, and proceeded to walk out the door! I will never return! There are plenty of other options on Forest avenue!

450th review. This…read moreplace has seemingly been around for over 30 years.* Some things have changed of course & some really haven't at all. I'll explain... This used to be my go to place back in the day, for my tailgating beer runs especially in the fall. It still has all your old time favorites, but if you are feeling adventurous this is a good stop. There are approximately 80 to 100 different beers, ales, ciders and IPAs. If you need soda or iced tea it is carried here as well. Didn't notice any wine, we were on a beer run for a friends BBQ. Our choices were Magners Hard Cider and a grapefruit Hefenweizen. The prices were very reasonable. Some things that haven't changed, they still have by the register in front a shelf with a lot of international beers. Here you can mix and match a six pack to get a taste of the world for under $20. Worth a look if your in the area. *Since I was young.
