Time to Eat represents itself as an experienced Food Delivery, Start Up business. A few Google searches will show a very spotty internet presence over the past few years and a paid infomercial for the Montel Williams show . They claim their product is turn-key, and they work hard to stand by that by taking short-cuts in the industry and making promises they can't keep. After working with them, I realized very quickly the services they offer are outsourced through a third party. Included in your package, they offer support throughout the life of your business. Since they are not the software provider, the process to gain assistance is to reach out to TTE and then they have to wait to get trained on how to answer your question by contacting the software company they set you up with. I assumed for the prices of the packages, I would be dealing directly with the software company designer and support team so I could customize my site to fit the needs of my business model. In fact, they just put you on a platform with several other businesses like yours. So when they present to you, your "customized website and app", it is simply the template the software company offers and you will see several with the same template. They are not educated in state tax laws and this is concerning since the food delivery service is one of the fastest growing industries right now and it is vital to the life of the business to be current on state tax laws. You will need to hire an experienced CPA to manage this part of your business. I found this out after learning I was not properly set up with state certifications and the tax formula they advised me on was not the legal way to operate. They also encourage you as you are ready to launch your business, to create a few fake emails to write reviews with. I assume they would practice this in their business if they are recommending it to start -up companies who pay thousands of dollars for their expert advice. The encourage you to leave reviews on their platforms prior to your launch and in some cases will compensate you with additional marketing supplies once you do. I have worked very hard to build a successful business in spite of being a TTE client. In fact, learning from them, gave me excellent insight to what my competition would be and I just offered my restaurants better service than what I knew was being offered. Now, as a successful, and still learning, RDS business, I have been witness to how their business model impacts the other businesses who share a platform with them. Their lack of knowledge in an industry they claim to be experts in, backlogs our support tickets by more than 30 days. Unethical sales training has created major policy changes for the entire platform and this has impacted RDS businesses that have decades of experience and have grown through all of the changes in this industry. If you are considering starting an RDS I would recommend another resource. Choosing to enter in through TTE will make your journey much longer than it needs to be and you will be paying thousands of dollars more to enter in to this industry. If you have a great business model, it will take longer to gain respect from your peers because the general consensus is that TTE clients are lowering the standards in the industry and for those that have worked at this business for several years, they don't respect businesses entering in to their market through short cuts. TTE is not "the expert" as one might assume from the advertisements they present to the public . A few conversations with the CEO, you will see many discrepancies in her experience in the industry. It was worth my money to learn what not to do but now that I have the knowledge I'm happy to share it for free and I hope it saves some of you from losing your retirement funds, nest eggs and hard earned money .At some point they may address these issues but as of April 27 when I am writing this post and my experience with them from March 28th, 2021, they are just not properly staffed to manage the legal aspects of starting a business, and they appear to be overwhelmed with the volume they are trying to manage right now. If you are already a client, congratulations you are in an excellent industry and you can have a successful business as long as you don't limit yourself to the guidance TTE offers you. :) read more
