Was really looking forward to stopping here on the way back to Indy from Chicago. It's 11am on a Saturday and they are closed up. We tried the door; it was locked. Not cool. I can't comment on the food, since we didn't get to try anything. read more

I'm happy to say that Chris the owner of this cute bakery-cafe isn't shy about his product! Not only was everything we ordered fresh and delicious, it was creative! Ordered a few pies for the 4th weekend and the whole experience was really easy and the pie was delish! I called the day before and it was no problem to pick them up early the next morning. We went with Key Lime and the Strawberry Cream Cheese. Both were great! I think I like the Key Lime a smidge more:) Would definitely like to go back and try some of the breakfast items and savory pies. Super cute place with great pies! read more

Sandwich was good. I was not a fan of the pulled pork chili, I think mostly because of the beans. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't impressive. Good conversation with the owner. I was the only one in the place at the time. Definitely a hole the wall type of place. Using Yelp to find the place it was still very difficult for me to find. We've had both his sweets (yum!) and his savory items and they've always been great. Never boring or predictable, but always good quality meals with creative ideas and amazing desserts. For our first visit to a place we often overorder to find the best dish. For our family of four today we shared seven pastries--I mean it wholeheartedly that there was not a single mediocre bite. The savory pastries were flavored with fresh herbs, the crossaints were beautifully flaky, and the sweets were scrumptious. We left stuffed and the price was unbeatable. Can't believe it's taken this long for me to write a review. I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Came across Timbrook Kitchens while visiting my boyfriend's family. An assuming place from the outside leads into a lovely oasis once you walk in. EVERYTHING on the menu is fantastic and you can tell it's made with lots of love and care. From the custom savory and sweet pies and pastries, we had at least one of everything and we even took some to-go. Seriously, they give the places in New York City a run for their money. The cinnamon rolls are out if this world. His pies are all great. The peach pie is probably best pie I've ever had. And his key lime is as good as any in south Florida. The hubby and I came here for brunch and it was better than I expected. I got two savory pies the feta and spinach and the artichoke chicken, a cup of tomato basil soup and a key lime cheese cake. My husband got a cream cheese topped cinnamon roll that he almost died over And a quiche with a lobster bisque soup. All our food was absolutely Delish! Although my soup was a little more watery than I like. Also, I wished the place was a little more inviting. It kinda gets lost in its location. Everything was very good. Quality BLT and sandwiches, but there was a cloud of smoke from whatever was being cooked in the place. It made it very uncomfortable and the door was closed so the smoke was literally not leaving. All the same, the 4 stars is indicative of a solid place. Took the blueberry pie home and it was amazing. My friend and I had the quiche and it was really good! The place is located across the street from Strack & Van Til in Munster and easy to pass up if you don't know it's there. We were there on a Sunday around 10 a.m. and the man showed us the food that was left. He was about to run out. He was very friendly and attentive.
