The owner walked over and greeted us , and asked how did we enjoy the place. I thought that was amazing customer service. Also a great location to sit and people watch. They are in the process of painting murals on the wall. Adding additional pub tables inside and outside (after the Fire Marshall visits to measure the sidewalk ). The sell frozen alcoholic beverages and beer/wine. The owner also stated she would love to collaborate with a variety of Food Trucks as well. We can't wait to patronize this business again!! The interior is lovely. Showed up for lunch so had the lunch menu to select from. Noticed that the crepes are only served at lunch. Had the chicken crepe and the gnocchi. For starters had mushroom soup which was the soup of the day and the french onion. Wrapped up with the chocolate pot de creme. Everything was very delectable. We visited for a wedding and I was worried about the paver walkways, as I have been on some before that are uneven. Fear not! Not one slip or stumble the entire weekend while wearing heels! There are a few gentle cows and an alpaca that roam out back behind the fence. They make for great pics and just add to the beauty! The owner was also amazing! He made sure everything was taken care of for the bride and groom. Was on hand to assist if needed with anything and overall cares about the people he hosts at his property.

My request for the top floor was honored. I was given a bottle of water. The WIFI was good and the tv had a good variety of channels. My only complaint was checkout was noon and housekeeping came around 9am. The room was easy to get to from the highway but not close enough for highway noise. They knew about the chain restaurants next door, but frankly I knew that my final destination was going to be meals of plain-jane Americana and I needed some variety before being subjected to that. Sadly I had to resort to other methods of finding a place to eat rather than recommendations from the staff.

Our plans changed a week prior to our stay, and we cancelled our 1 room-night -- well within the required cancellation timeframe of our contract. The hotel charged us anyway (and didn't even charge us the right amount). After 6 weeks and multiple emails and phone calls later we were still trying to get a refund. At one point they forwarded a refund receipt, however it never appeared on our credit card (guess it was fake). In trying to get this resolved for weeks the manager "Gary" seemed to avoid our calls and didn't respond to emails. One day front-desk staff said he was in the bathroom, 15 minutes later he "was going into a meeting and would be available in one hour" and an hour later he had "left for the day". The front-desk staff (who ere very sympathetic) eventually told us a lot was going on and suggested we escalate to Holiday Inn corporate. Corporate reviewed our contract, confirmed we had cancelled within the appropriate time window, and worked with Burlington to issue a refund. That still took another week, but eventually it worked (8 weeks after the improper charge). Not sure what's going on at Holiday Inn Express Burlington, but buyer beware! Hope the ownership finds some more responsive local management.
