I have bought a large dining table and six chairs from there before and had a very pleasant experience from a buyers point of view. The price was very reasonable and I only waited a week for delivery. We asked for a discount for cash and got it. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would buy from there again in the future and recommend this shop.

The outdoor plant section is well stocked and the staff are very helpful in this area. The shop stock novelty as well as nice indoor plants and planters. They have excellent selection of bulbs which are reasonable in price. A good selction of gardening tools as well. The gifts are lovely, it is definately worth a browse to find something a little different as very good prices. They stock a wide selction of books for all ages and the children's books are lovely. They have clean toilets and are family friendly. Their is a little cafe there that sells lovely food. Be aware that breakfast is served till 1130am but food is not cooked again till midday. So time your visit for breakfast or lunch so not to be disappointed like we were! Their Christams displays are always lovely and they usually have a great Santa's grotto. They also stock fire works!

The timeline that follows…read moreis absolutely unbelievable and probably my worse internet buying experience to date: 4 days after ordering - I received notice that two items were not available (despite the order being confirmed). 3 weeks, 3 days after ordering - I received half of the items with a had written scribble on the delivery note stating the remaining items were to follow. 1 month, 1 week after ordering - I emailed tooline who eventually told me they couldn't find my order. I sent them a copy! 1 month, 2 weeks after ordering - I still had no reply, when I enquired, tooline said my email must have gone into the spam folder! They told me that they would send the remaining items in the next few days..... 2 months, 2 weeks after ordering - I send another email asking where the remaining items were. I didn't receive a reply. 3 months, 1 week after ordering - I eventually receive most of the remaining items. No apology and still missing one item which I was billed for. I've asked for a refund and will go elsewhere next time.

They also have a good selection of kitschy items such as Guinness, Pepsi and Mickey Mouse mirrors. When we first moved to Southend we furnished our house with a lot of Les & Gary's goods - 2 sofas for £175, a gas cooker for £100 and a welsh dresser for £80. Some of the goods are ropey, but the shop is huge so they have a lot of stock to look through. Keep looking and you'll find yourself a bargain that's in very good or at least reasonable shape depending on your budget. You'll find the sofas and more modern units downstairs (including some questionable black ash coffee tables, etc) but upstairs they have some beautiful antiques, including fireplace surrounds. They are always very quick to deliver, sometimes the same day if you get there early enough and they're going to be in the area later on. A little tip, don't ever pay the asking price. They're very happy to haggle.
