BEWARE OF THESE SCA...ERS!!!…read more We recently got our floor done by this company. The installation was very dirty and messy and unprofessional. We noticed after a day that they floor start to come up in a few places so we called the store and it took them a few weeks to come out to take a look at it, when they came the installer said he will nail it from the top, which is not how you fix a floor and we said no you have to remove some of them nail it down and fix it. So the installer said they will come back. A few weeks later another installer comes and looks at it and admits that the floor didn't get nailed down and it's their mistake. So he said we have to buy more floor and they will fix it, which makes no sense at all, they did the mistake and we have to supply more floor so they can fix it. I called the store to let them know and they said they won't do anything to fix it. We paid over $8000 for this floor and it looks like s..t. They scuffed up all the walls too. So I wrote a review and the manager of the store called and said we will fix it, but can you take down the review because we don't want our owner to find out about this issue, we said okay and took it down. So today I get a phone call from the installer supervisor and he said he will buy one box of flooring and we have to buy another box for them to fix it, mind you they already used a box we gave them that we had for extras. So we would be out basically 2 boxes which is not right. We didn't agree to buying more boxes and he said okay we can't do anything for you, since you signed a paper saying that the work was completed. That's fine but there is a 2 year warranty on the installation and also warranty for the floor too. So technically we shouldnt have to worry about the floor for a few years but it's only a few days that they floor didn't hold up to. So we told them we will be taking them to court to resolve this issue. Companies like this should be held accountable for the work they supply and not just get away with it. Since we paid for the floor and proper installation it should be done. Just want to warn any future customers that are looking to get their floor done by this company.

We decided to do a bathroom renovation that included: 1) removing and installing bathtub/shower, 2)…read moreremoving/installing new floor and shower tiles, 3) installing HVAC (fan ventilation) and pot light, 4) minor carpentry work to make an existing IKEA cabinet look like a built-in, 5) re-painting, and 6) installing a custom barn door. We found REED Design Build and Tyler through past reviews from multiple sources, spoke with Tyler directly, and then contacted his references. We felt some level of comfort knowing he had previously done minor and major renovations (i.e. removing support walls and replacing with beams) and received positive feedback, which is why we decided to move forward with the team. Tyler, his team and subcontractors delivered excellent quality work and paid close attention to detail - from design to product selection to installation and finish. Tyler was responsible for planning and scheduling the work and subcontractors (for plumbing, electrical and tile installation). Upon tearing down drywall around the shower, Tyler (also a carpenter) noticed that the previous framing was not square so re-built around it. The team also re-leveled the floor and parts of the drop ceiling, as it was originally uneven. We also appreciated Megan's sense of design, in understanding the look we were after, creating a design board, and sourcing Canadian products. Once the project started, it was helpful to see Tyler's project plan and schedule estimates online. On occasion, there were gaps in schedule due to a delay from other trade which pushed out the overall schedule. A couple of times, there were also minor miscommunications with start time, but in general we were satisfied with the overall renovation experience, quality of work and had peace of mind that the project was in good hands. Price was probably considered mid- to high-tier, but we knew it was reasonable if we wanted the job done right. Previously, we had poor experiences with other contractors who didn't complete quality jobs, or never returned to finish the job. We were pleasantly surprised when Tyler hired a cleaner after the reno was complete, to dust and clean the basement. We would definitely hire Tyler again in the future and recommend him for both large and small renovations.
