We had been in Italy only a couple of days when we were quickly reminded that road signs are seriously lacking here. My husband in particular has a great sense of direction but despite that, we simply got hopelessly lost on one of our first drives from Lucca to Volterra. That drive, as it turns out, is actually ridiculously easy but the road signs were so terrible that we just got all jumbled up. After stopping a couple of times to ask people on the street for help we were able to get there but not without a lot of wasted time and aggravation. Later that night, once back in Lucca, we ran to Euronics for help. The employee who assisted us was friendly and kind. He spoke little English and was forgiving of my intermediate Italian. With his help we left with a great GPS and car mount. That night, we were able to set it up by connecting it to a computer in our hotel and by the next morning we were in road trip heaven. Euronoics and the new GPS were godsends and we thank the helpful man at Euronics for pointing us in the right direction. We will be sure to bring this on the trip we are planning to Lake Como next fall. On another note, it was fun to wander around the store looking at all the European brands of refrigerators, stoves, and appliances.

I ended up finding Linea D di Re Piero, and it was perfect. The location is fine - a 10 minute walk outside the Porto Sant' Anna, the westernmost gate of the walled city. Easy to find with Google Maps. They didn't speak any Italian but they are great at sign language, plus I spoke just enough Italian to express myself. Just in case, I showed a selfie on my phone that showed what I wanted and he said a photo is the perfect way to show what I want. They were extremely polite and friendly and modest and he did a perfect job. The prices are posted on a sheet in the waiting area. I went Saturday morning at 9:30 or 10 and didn't have to wait long. My haircut was 13 euros - perfect as far as I am concerned. They didn't expect a tip. So if you are in Lucca and don't speak Italian and don't mind just a little bit of an adventure, come here! NOTE: the Yelp map seems to have the location wrong by a half a block - use Google Maps.

They made reading glasses, glasses that could be used for reading as well as working on the computer and glasses to wear that would supposedly help to close and far. None of them are right and I have tried to wear them for long enough to supposedly get used to them. I am now having to have all of the lenses changed at a different place.

Been in malls, outlets, independent shops. And then, almost at the end of our trip I got lucky. Found this shop here with some good offers (half price) on Italian-made vests. One brown, one black. They fit nicely and the quality is right. Cost 40 Euros each, which I found to be a good deal. Wanted to buy more, but these two were all they had in my size. Too bad. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Really nice guys. If back in Lucca we will definitely come back here.
