I have visited hat stores exactly like this in Albuquerque NM and Portland OR and this is the same friendly, fun vibe I have found in those other shops. The person who helped us apologized for her lack of English proficiency but she did just fine understanding what I was looking for and representing her merchandise. Her English is a whole lot better than my Italian! If you're into hats, reluctant to buy cheap garbage from a street vendor, and happen to be spending time in Livorno, or just passing through en route to Pisa or Florence, this is a very worthwhile stop.
