I needed to get my haircut while in Lucca. I looked around and saw mostly women's hairdressers, and on Yelp I read about some pretentious, overpriced places within the city walls. I ended up finding Linea D di Re Piero, and it was perfect. The location is fine - a 10 minute walk outside the Porto Sant' Anna, the westernmost gate of the walled city. Easy to find with Google Maps. They didn't speak any Italian but they are great at sign language, plus I spoke just enough Italian to express myself. Just in case, I showed a selfie on my phone that showed what I wanted and he said a photo is the perfect way to show what I want. They were extremely polite and friendly and modest and he did a perfect job. The prices are posted on a sheet in the waiting area. I went Saturday morning at 9:30 or 10 and didn't have to wait long. My haircut was 13 euros - perfect as far as I am concerned. They didn't expect a tip. So if you are in Lucca and don't speak Italian and don't mind just a little bit of an adventure, come here!
