When you visit Junction 32 retail park there aren't many places where the whole family, complete with allergies and moral stances, can eat so we thought that Tilly's Kitchen was a gift from above. How wrong we were!
Over-all the place was a little messy but we always carry wipes so we cleaned up and persevered. Everyone in our group found something on the menu to suit them and the prices were reasonable, we were off to a flying start.
It was only when the food arrived that we ran into difficulties. It appears that whatever you eat here, oil is involved because everything had an oily taste which brought the use of cheap ingredients down from barely acceptable to 'pass the vomit bowl'. The predominant flavour was vegetable oil and the presentation was basic. Of special note was the optimistically titled Chicken Tikka which was served with oily skin on fries that didn't have skin on, was not a tikka and was served cold.
Next door to junction 32 is the Xscape complex where there are a wide variety of eateries; my advice is to walk the extra couple of hundred metres and grab something edible. read more
