If I owned a Mediterranean/ falafel restaurant in Belfast right now I would be really worried,…read morebecause there's some serious competition on the scene. I've just had THE BEST falafel platter I've tasted in a very long time - in the recently opened Levantine on Callender Street. Absolutely delicious! Everything is vegetarian and there are loads of vegan dishes to choose from off a large menu consisting of platters, wraps, tagines, mezzas, soups and salads. Cannot wait to come back and try the eggplant falafel wrap, chilli and meat-free veggie balls...

The next 2 times however has been quite disappointing. 1. The ordering is a nightmare. They don't give you a number and don't remember who ordered so it's a bit of a free for all. No idea why they can't call out numbers on the receipt. Each time we go, someone is pissed about having waited too long. 2. The first time we went, we got hummus on the side of a delicious Halloumi wrap but the next time, there was no hummus and the wrap was completely devoid of any dressing and didn't have much filling at all. The lack of consistency is not appealing. If they manage to stick to consistent food and finally sort out their ordering process, this can be the best middle-eastern food in Belfast (in spite of being vegetarian!)

Well I' not mad because Kurrito has just blown my mind and my taste buds. Sorry if this review seems a little all over the place, I'm still in food delirium. Right, I'm going to try and explain this is a way that everyone will understand - this is A CURRY BURRITO! The format of the place is similar to Boojum actually - you pick your meat and then you pick you additional salads, veg and sauce. I went for chicken of which they had two different types, medium and hot (in terms of spice obviously). The difference (from Boojum) apart from the curry thing I think I mentioned is that there is no queue and the portions are absolutely massive. I pretty much got a whole curry meal in a wrap. The taste was amazing, really flavoursome and authentic - absolutely no hint of processing - this is the real deal. A curry burrito will only set you back £5! This is a huge lunch - I actually ended up asking for some more foil to wrap up my leftovers for later. You can sit in or take away! I love this place and will definitely be back, probably when I'm hungover and in the need of a mega cure!

The restaurant itself is nicely appointed with a modern/posh vibe, great for a first date if you are looking to impress (But possibly not score with your curry breath) or for bringing a client out to a nice place to chill for the evening, away from town. Ok down to the nitty gritty, what's the food like? The menu is very extensive with a great range of fish and veggie dishes, as well as all the usual meat dishes you would expect from an Indian. I had one of the specials (It was either Crayfish or Langoustine) Ko-Rathi with a garlic Naan and some pilau rice. I have to say it was cooked to perfection and absolutely amazing. I'd order it again anytime. On a side note we also had the poppadum's to start with. It was a very generous portion and the four dips were divine. My friends had various other dishes which I sampled and they were just as tasty as mine. We had a reasonably priced bottle of Pinot Grigio to help wash it all down. Finally for desert we decided to try the Indian Doughnuts. Heaven in a dish. They are little balls of alcohol soaked dough served on a delicious ice cream. A superb end to a fantastic meal. The place was on the upper side of reasonable but considering the quality its worth forking out for. (We also got a free shot with our bill which was awesome!) Overall i'll definitely be back. 5 Stars!

I went for a vegetable biryiani and it was tasty and filling as well as a lovely pashuari nann. Its BYOB which helps you keep the costs down if you're on a night out. Maybe a little bit out of the centre of town for some people but if you're up this way you won't be disappointed with any aspect of this wee restaurant.

Previously called Cafe Naz, they've dropped the cafe bit as it really wasn't a cafe. This is a full on Indian restaurant with a very relaxed vibe. The menu is extensive but far from expensive. I would say I usually go for the lamb jalfrezi (which is yum) but they have so many great deals on the go all the time we usually have so much food you can barely see the table, and I end up trying a little bit of everything. At lunchtime it is also pretty busy with business types, as the lunch deals are a steal! And to add to the joy, it is BYO- you bring the booze and they bring the flavour.

There are quite a few decent indian take aways in Belfast, in particularly the Bengal Brasserie that is also on the Ormeau Road. The menu is pretty much the same as Bengal so we went for a chicken madras, chicken vindaloo, poppadoms, naan bread and saag aloo. all the usuals. The delivery did take a while but as it was sat night we didn't mind as most places are pretty busy. The food came and was hot which is good but the one downside is that they were pretty greasy I no many dishes do contain some oil but being a frequent sampler of Indian Cuisine I knew they had over done it here. The flavours were good and the meal wasn't bad but in a city with many great Indian takeaways and restaurants there are many places I would order before coming back here! Not bad, but not remarkable!
