They changed website where you found info on your property, So I couldn't go back & re-read…read moreanything rules ect. Prior to trip. We were not on the gate list so had to go to office then back to gate. Owner needs to communicate Cart office CLOSES at 5:00. So no cart til next day. Check in 4:30. Others in group 2:00. air conditioning did not work. Freezer & frig would not seal so our items were not froze or cold. Maintenance brought portable. Figured out if we would hold the freezer refrigerator door shut at the same time they would stay shut & work. Doors open towards the wall so you could not tell they were opened. Just a tiny bit enough to not cool anything. Could not find sheets for the pullout couch. OWNER should have communicated where things were, cart shop closes at 5, no beach towels, extra TP There was none. Guest SERVICES told us you're on your own for that and if you need more toilet paper than the one Roll provided. You need to go buy. No Kleenexes. Then he had to come back again in the morning with his thermometer to make sure it was cooling and freezing as long as we physically shut the doors. It worked. I told him you need to put a big note on this or the next people are gonna have the exact same problem. We told GUEST SERVICES about all the problems and they made notes of everything to tell the owner. The refrigerator was tipped forward also instead of backwards. Not that that matter cause you still had to do it yourself. We had to tell guest SERVICES to tell the maintenance guy so she could make out another work order so he could actually look at it. I said well he's here right now. Can't he just look at it? Well, then she sent him a work order via his phone. Before he left, I said well he might as well Put in a work order for the front door too, you could see the sunlight right out the door it latched, and you could lock it, but it was very loose opening closing when it was locked so that needed to be fixed as well. I think it's ridiculous that there's a $200 cleaning fee and we have to bag our own garbage and take it out to the dumpster -really? There was a $40 " peace of mind" charge ‍ When we picked up the golf cart the next morning, we turned around and drove back and told them there's something wrong with this cart, It's way too loud. He said that's because it's a gas golf cart and they're all that loud. My friend said I have a Gas golf cart and it does not sound like this at all. He would not give us a different one so he left. A day and a half later we were driving to the beach to meet the rest of our friends from the wedding the night before and there is a huge noise and I thought we ran over something, the golf cart belt broke and was laying in the road. We called the business. They said they try and have somebody come out I said no you're sending somebody out right now, we have somewhere to be. So about 15 minutes later here he comes. He's backing it off the trailer and get stuck so we had to pull back on and then he went really fast backwards and the back end of it hit the dirt and dragged. I said if you broke that thing, we are not paying for it. My friend said we tried to tell you about this when we picked it up, but there was something wrong with it. He was very nice but we had to get going.. The wedding and reception was fabulous on the island. The weather was perfect, but we definitely felt. There is a huge lack of communication on the owners part. They need to put more information on their site pertaining to their rental property so there's no surprises. The groom told us about the last Walmart before you get to the island to stop and buy stuff to take with you because everything so expensive on the island. I had one piña colada at one of the swimming pools and it was $18. It was delicious now my friend ordered the rum punch and she could not drink it. It tasted so bad. I took a sip as well and it was awful so she ordered something else. Oh & when we got back from being outside, the rental was so hot inside. Well the hose from the portable air conditioner come off the air conditioner so all the vents warm air was just coming back into the room instead of going out the window so we had to call maintenance again. 709 Ocean Cottage

Heard back from someone the next day 24 hours later, saying the would give me another room. After I was already back home 5 hours away. Claimed seeing roaches is "normal around here"... not normal to see them in guest rooms... ever. Said they would refund me one night out of my 5 booked. Requested the higher ups information, never responded.

He returned, tore apart the freezer, unplugged the unit, and said we would get a replacement that day. Never came! Called again...We lost food and cleaned up water from the leaking refrigerator. The price was low for a beachfront property, so we knew it would be rustic with few updates, which was totally fine with us. However, the house is run down and needs a serious deep clean. Dust bunnies and dirt inside the bread box, a thick layer of grime and cobwebs along the porch ledge and windowsills. The washing machine full of sand and grime. There is no beach supply closet with chairs and plastic beach toys like most rentals. Their beach shed has an old dirty toilet in it. There are pallets of old wood just laying around in the covered parking area. There are 2 fridges, which is nice, but one has no sides on any of the shelves, rendering them useless. No ice makers. Only 2 plastic trays that were empty on arrival. Couldn't locate a single dish towel anywhere. Not a shred of toilet paper in any of the 3 bathrooms when we arrived. We are happy to buy our own, but isn't leaving at least a portion of a roll just understood?? Everything I listed above I can overlook- but here is the main reason for our disappointment. THE BEDS! Every single mattress is terrible. And every single bed makes a loud creaking noise with the slightest movement. And the doors on the bedrooms are the slatted closet type sliding doors so sound travels and there is little privacy. It was impossible for us to get a good nights sleep. And after waking up from fitful rest with a sore back, none of the other furniture in the home was comfortable either. There was just no relief. The beach behind the house is small- especially at low tide. The realty company was pleasant to deal with, and I realize the homeowners and cleaning staff share in the responsibility for the condition of the home. But when I booked, I asked the employee if I could read any reviews of the property. She said they don't provide them. I asked if there was ère any reported issues with the house and she said she wasn't aware of any complaints. I find that hard to believe since there is another 1 star review of this same property on this site. This was not a good experience and we won't be back.

Worst company of any kind we have every had to deal with. We rented a beautiful home for a week…read morelast summer. We had rented it once before when it was rented directly by the owner. But he sold it, and the new owner as of summer '22 worked only through FrippVacation and refused all contact. We are a 3-generation family of 16 including my wife in her 80s. The home has an elevator which she needs. Shortly before our arrival we were informed that the elevator was out of service, and it was not repaired. Also not working was the air conditioning system. This was South Carolina in the summer. It worked enough to cool rooms to 85. The door to one bedroom was all glass (in a wood frame); privacy was provided by a shade on the inside of the door, but the shade was missing, denying any privacy to the couple using that bedroom. Midway through our week, a very loud motor kicked in next to the master bedroom and roared nonstop for the remaining days, interfering with sleep. (I learned later it was connected to jacuzzi tub.) And there were other issues. I made repeated efforts to reach Bob Smoak of FrippVacations. At first, he promised to come out and fix things, but he didn't show, and after that he refused to respond to text and phone messages. Fripp Island is beautiful but FrippVacations is a company to avoid at all costs.

The island is beautiful, the fact that it is a preserve is so great. Deer everywhere. Alligators too. Beautiful beaches, and tons of choices in where to hang your hat while you are there. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars, is they have no recycling program that we could find. With a meeting like we had, it was a shame to see all of those recyclables end up in a landfill.

Having not previously rented a home beach front we were excited and willing to splurge for a treat beach front. However, upon arrival were disappointed. I spent our first evening cleaning the kitchen. There were numerous items damaged in the home and it simply was not as we were expecting. Upon reaching out to Atwood, we were informed the home was for sale and under contract therefore the owner had said they would not be doing any additional work, stating that they knew of some of the issues I had photographed. I am quite disappointed by Atwood. As a rental company, I believe knowing this information, they should have reached out to us as renters prior to our arrival to let us know the home was under contract and not in the condition one would expect. As the week went on other issues came up but having been flippantly told, "the owner won't be doing anything else, sorry" there was no point in calling. Though I did send an email later in the week and received no reply. A better model for business would have called us and told us so that we had the opportunity to change accommodations if we wanted. A great model of business would have had an alternative in mind to recommend for us. Very disappointed in the service we received from Atwood, and that they allow an owner to no longer keep up with a home once for sale but will continue to rent.

Most of the chairs and rockers were broken and in desperate need of repair. Overall it was a perfect size for our family and a perfect location. We would definitely go back.

They are super responsive and helped in many ways.. helping us through the inspection process, minor repairs, coordinating services while we were away, receiving shipments of supplies for the home, ensuring everything was in tip top shape between rentals. We sold our 1st rental and purchased another and went right back to For Rent in Beaufort since we were so happy with their services. Highly recommend!!

We rented an apartment from For Rent in Beaufort between May 11-13, 2024 for a Mother's Day weekend…read moregetaway with my wife and my parents. The apartment was cute though the rennovation work was clearly DIY (LVP gaps, missing trimwork, gaps between tile and walls not covered, etc.). We were fine with it since the price was reasonable. The issues we did have, however, were 1) the internet was not working, 2) the coffee maker was not working, and 3) the management company was not very professional. We arrived on Saturday and I had to log into work after driving several hours to get there due to some pressing business. However, no where in the apartment were there any instructions about what the wifi name is much less the password for logging on. Seems like a pretty standard "must-have" for an STR, especially since the TV ran off a Fire Stick. There was contact information for the management company so I texted them for the wifi details, which they did provide but after connecting to the wifi, the internet still wasn't working, not even on the TV. After a couple of hours of searching the apartment (every cabinet, closet, furniture, etc.) and texting back and forth with FRIB, the agent finally tells us that the wifi router is in the unit below us (I mentioned from the start of the conversation that we were in unit 2, which is upstairs). Fortunately, it was not rented so I was able to get access and reset the router. A few hours wasted that didn't need to be, but which also caused us to miss our planned activities for the evening. Whatever, was willing to let it slide, but then the next morning we find out the coffee maker is not working. We Googled the instruction manual, even watched YouTube videos for it in case there was some new-fangled trick to it. Never got it working so we went out for breakfast and when we got back to the apartment that evening, I texted FRIB again and let them know the coffee maker wasn't working. Again, there was some back and forth texting in which it was mentioned the coffee maker was new and should be working, so the next day we tried again. Again, it would not work. Again we texted. This time she mentions that the coffee maker is broken but there should also be a Keurig next to the coffee maker. I reminded her that the ad said a coffee maker and not a Keurig (Keurigs are not as common as regular coffee makers and require single serve pods, which unless you have one, you won't have the pods and certainly would not want to buy a pack of them for one weekend). I also reminded her that the kitchen was stocked with regular ground coffee, not K-pods. There was no apology. No offer to run over some pods, or a working coffee pot, or give some money back for the (now repeated) troubles. Nothing. Not even a response a week later. Based on the profile pictures on their website, it appears this company is run by a couple of kids with a dream and no experience (not in STR management, customer service, nor in professionalism). We originally had reservations at the Best Western, which was actually cheaper, but thought it would be nice to have us in one place where we could wake up, have coffee and breakfast together, etc. Instead, we spent half the weekend waiting for the non-coffee drinkers to wake up so we could get the heck out of there and find some coffee (and food), negating the whole reason we cancelled the hotel and opted for a STR.

11/19/25 Wednesday check in. Once past the sales gauntlet this so far (Friday night) this has been…read moreone of our best and relaxing stays here. .....grandkids arrive tonight LOL. Staying at King Cotton in a 3 bedroom presidential. It's on the main property after you go through the guard entrance, on sea cloud circle. So relaxing. Very quiet and insulation kept it very quiet inside. Comfy beds and spacious. Beautiful property with lots of live oaks and Spanish moss and little march ponds with "don't feed the alligators" on each one. The first morning the coffee maker (fancy Cuisinart machine) wouldn't make coffee. Found the guest services number 843-869-4500, and a nice man (Jamie?) from inventory promptly brought us a new one. He then showed us how to press "carafe" then the "brew" button. He left the new one just in case! Then maintenance showed up as we had asked Jamie to call them about the light and fan above the stove not working. Very nice maintenance man showed up right after I had figured out the combination of switches they had installed to help the handicapped.....it is a modified unit to help the handicapped. He was very nice about it and showed me a safety trick with the garbage disposal. Anyway, great staff, got through the sales gauntlet in about 15 minutes.....and they did try hard. But being silver vip owners we have learned how to say no and insist on it.

Disgusting! Had to "mop" upon check-in. Missing conditioner. Dirty towels hanging on the door…read more Called, texted, not one response. Paid almost $200 for a cleaning fee.... Maybe they should have paid us! We left early as we were disgusted. Dishes in dishwasher, "skid marks" in toilet. Never again.
