Class Act... from start to finish !…read more We flew into New Orleans a few months before the wedding to meet with various vendors (photographers, bakeries, florists, event venues for rehearsal dinner and more). Being perfectionists, it makes us picky; we met with a few photographers in preparing for our destination wedding and although each impressed us, they unfortunately also unimpressed us each time (high marks for 1 aspect but disappointed at the same time by not hearing our ideas, being unclear with their thoughts/ideas, drinking too much during the interview/meeting, having virtually no experience)... UNTIL, we met Kendra ! She arrived at the Roosevelt Hotel on time; just ten minutes into our first meeting with Kendra reassured us that our first impression was overwhelming and our search was over; even went as far as canceling our last 2 interviews immediately after meeting with her... She dressed classy, spoke well, clearly explained her process but most importantly, she listened and understood what we wanted. A few days later, negotiating our contract over the phone from Florida was a simple process and there was no pressure to add more services or other packages. The day of our wedding arrived and we met with Kendra at our hotel (Le Pavillon) to take "first look" photographs; then Kendra joined my fiancé and I and headed over to the French Quarter for interesting photo-opportunities (dancing in the street, inside shops we love and even got some amazing pictures when a Second Line was passing by). And then the special event at Antiones (down the aisle, exchanging the rings, family members shedding a few happy tears, then married). We left the wedding room and Kendra took numerous photographs of family and fun in our reception room. We loved the way she interacted with our guests to get the best photographs. We never felt rushed to get done by a certain time. Most importantly, our photographs were wonderful and there were no hidden fees to get our pictures. We have already recommended KENDRA JONES to others and will continue to do so in the future !

As an advanced amateur photographer, I was impressed by their lighting, posing, and attention to detail. They listen, they guide, and they make the entire experience enjoyable. We cannot say enough good things about Red M Studio. From start to finish, working with Marianne &…read moreSteve was an incredible experience, and hiring them was one of the best decisions we made for our New Orleans "not a wedding" wedding. I found Red M Studio through a Reddit recommendation from another couple who loved their photos, and after seeing their work, I immediately understood why. We wanted to support a small business, loved their aesthetic, and knew we needed professionals who could capture something intimate and nontraditional without turning it into a production. Leading up to the day, Marianne & Steve were incredibly organized and thoughtful. We had both a phone call and a Zoom meeting where they walked through every detail to make sure nothing was missed. They even used Google Maps to virtually walk us through the French Quarter and talk through locations and timing. That level of preparation made us feel completely at ease. Our original plan was to elope, but as anyone who tries to elope in New Orleans learns, that rarely stays small. What unfolded was a joyful, intimate gathering we lovingly called our "not a wedding." Marianne & Steve captured every part of it beautifully, from exchanging vows privately in our hotel suite, to wandering the French Quarter on Halloween night, stopping at the Carousel Bar, befriending a very determined French Quarter cat, and ending the evening with a private dinner at Arnaud's surrounded by our favorite people. They truly understood the assignment. The photos feel authentic, emotional, and perfectly us. Nothing felt staged or forced, and we never once felt uncomfortable or overly "on display." The final gallery tells the story of the day exactly as it was: warm, a little spooky, deeply personal, and full of love. If you're getting married in New Orleans and want photographers who are professional, intuitive, and genuinely invested in telling your story, Red M Studio is exceptional. We will treasure these photos forever.

The photographer behind Twirl always suggests an excellent location and timing so you get magical photos. No surprise there: some of the historic photos published in the Times Picayune from the Katrina era were hers. Ditto some actors' head shots you may see in posters and programs for shows around town. She's even got a Pulitzer to show for it (the journalism, not the head shots). But enough about her background. You'll start with a dialogue defining what you want to come out of your session. Then when the time (and light) is right, meet up with Jenn for a dynamic photo session with a mix of carefully posed compositions and some carefree, "just look like you're running to the ice cream truck!" shots. It's busy but a lot of fun. Out of all that, expect some good choices for your album.

Jennifer quickly assured me that it would be painless, and she was absolutely right. She coached me through the whole session made me laugh, and it felt like I was actually working with a friend. This was my first experience of actually enjoying being in front of the camera. I look like a better version of myself without it looking stiff or retouched. If you are looking for an easy stress-free, headshot or portrait session run to contact Jennifer she is truly amazing! Thanks again I actually really love my photos! Thanks Twirl Photography!!

When I picked Avery to be our wedding photographer, I knew she saw the world through a lens of joy and would capture every second of our day with the utmost professionalism and creativity. Avery went above and beyond, with a wonderful mix of posed and candid shots, and I'm still crying looking at all the photos. I will find another reason to hire Avery again to document another day in our lives down the road. Avery is simply amazing and wholly devoted to the craft of photography; a master storyteller wielding a camera = magic.

Equally impressive was her personality, professionalism, communication, and attention to detail! Avery worked within our budget, something we are forever grateful for as we badly wanted her to be our photographer. We never waited more than 24 hours for an email response and text replies came fast, this was extremely comforting as two people from out of town. What we couldn't believe was AFTER our wedding, how many people asked about her! Avery made an impression on everyone! From the initial phone conversation on our planning stages, Avery went over and noted with us key shots we wanted as well as people, timelines, and the route of the Second Line band- she even collected contact information for the other vendors (Ceremony location, Reception, First Look location) in case of questions for lighting, spacing, etc. Our wedding pictures we will cherish always due to her talent! All expectations will be exceeded if you are lucky enough to book with Avery Leigh Photography.
