Yes, it is Pricey, yes, it does not look as comfortable as one might think, but this restaurant has been an experience through and through! Once you've entered the main entrance, you might feel reluctant to sit down, but then the owner recommended to sit outside on their terrace and all of a sudden you are in another world. The food is incredible, the best restaurant I have eaten so far in the region. Although they do not have an English menu, the waiter was patient and kind enough to translate everything in his broken English. A feat, that was funny, yet informative. His recommendations were on spot. For starter, I've had a beef Carpaccio, which was not on the menu, and as the main course, I had seared Tuna. Both incredible in their own way. For dessert, I had a chocolate cake, which was very fantastic. Overall, it was a perfect evening, with a great ambient, friendly people and Incredible, if not perhaps the best Food you can get in Aubagne.

We just had the best meal since coming to France at Le Jardin d'Amalula (The Garden of Amalula)…read more When we asked the owner what Amalula means, she said it is a contraction of the first names of her daughters: Amandine, Lucile, and Laurine. Laurine is the chef. The outside of the restaurant is inconspicuous; in fact, we walked right past it. But you walk down a corridor, through a small courtyard, and then into the small restaurant. But it's the garden out back that is beautiful. That's where we sat. My wife had Le Provençale, a tartine (toast) with bush cheese, red fruits jam, dried figs, dried tomatoes, and parma ham (like prosciutto). Delicious! I chose the plat du jour based on the owner's recommendation. Not sure what it's called but it was a tartine with tuna tartare & passion fruit, chutney with mango, pineapple, & red pepper, slices of avocado, and orange zest with pink berries. I don't know how they do it. Amazing flavor combinations. Glad we found this place with plenty of time to go back another time or two. Highly recommend!

The food was delicious and beautifully presented.

Alice et…read moreSes Merveilles, is a small restaurant focused on beautiful presentation and exquisite flavor. The young chef (only 23 years old) makes magic and we're certain he is destined for a phenomenal career! Stefanie, single-handedly manages every aspect of the "front-of-house". She guided us to perfect, reasonably priced wine recommendations and food choices. The restaurant limits the number of tables they seat per night so that they can provide seasonal meals of the highest quality and perfect presentation. I wish I could offer more than 5 stars! We couldn't recommend Alice et Ses Merveilles more highly!

We had a lovely dinner here on our last night in Avignon. There were no yelp reviews to review but…read moresince this place was just steps from our hotel we thought we'd give it a try. I had the 3-course formula and my wife had fish and chips. The fish was very crispy with a light batter and perfectly cooked. The chips were thick cut but crispy. My started was buffalo mozzarella with jamon and black truffle noir. My plat was ravioli with a spicy tomato sauce topped with several slices of salmon tartar. Both were excellent. But the best was the lemon tart with a meringue topping. Very intense lemon flavor. Service was satisfactory but not real attentive as their was only one waiter for a dozen or so tables. But it was worth it.
