Eugene Williams is a dishonest and lazy owner. I used his company for a March 1, 2020 move. During the move, his movers stole my wine, several pieces of jewelry and broke quite a lot of furniture. I had to get the police involved which he has blown off. He told me he'd return the wine to me cause his staff didn't want it, he said it's my fault his staff took my jewelry cause I had it in a drawer that they went through, and just has totally ignored the broken furniture. He'll say that he told me I couldn't put the wine in the truck, but he said as long as it's in a sealed box, it's fine. Now he's saying he said no alcohol...um, then why did they take it AFTER the move? Cause I found the box it was transported in in the garbage bin at the new residence. I was incredibly generous with his staff, they received several large beverage coolers from me and the owner got a used, but new, blue tooth meat smoker from me. Do the right thing Eugene and replace the wine and fix the furniture!!! Below are some texts between us. I refused to even rate this company due to all of the issues we had but not allowed so had to rate a 1. Should allow a negative! Failed to show up on the day of the move until we paid an additional $500 for Eugene the owner to rent a U-Haul since his truck was not available. I told him this was not our fault and we should not be liable to incur this expense. We tried to call other movers to assist us and obviously they were already booked for the day and were appalled that a company had done this to us. They came the next day and damaged a desk and breakfast table upon delivery to home. He promised to mail us a check for the damages. This was in October 2020. I have texted him too many times to count and he refuses to answer. My last text was telling him to keep the money as apparently he was going to anyway. DO NOT USE THE COMPANY! I don't see my review posted in October 2019, so I will repeat it, since the last 2 reviews are 2 years apart. I hired this company in October 2019, and it was a nightmare from Hell. They are the worst moving company I have ever used, and I have used many. They are the most unprofessional movers you will ever find. The company is run by one man, Eugene with a telephone. He rents a truck, then hires 3 day laborers on moving day for your move. My so-called movers were 3 young guys that did not know the first thing about moving, it was horrendous. Then, the next day while unpacking, I discovered several items had been stolen from my taped up and marked boxes. One of the guys had stayed on the truck the whole time to arrange things while the other two moved stuff to the truck. They stole my Samsung Tablet and all my medication, and a few other items. After 3 days I was hospitalized because of not having my medication. I did not report this because while they were moving my things, I was handed a contract to sign. One of the rules listed was "No Drugs Allowed". It was too late to retrieve my medication because it had already been loaded. The reason I did not call Police is because of the medication being moved and I knew Eugene would bring charges against me for it. So people, please take my word, and beware of Eugene and his "moving company". read more

Everything went as well as hoped. They were prompt, strategic, effective, and efficient in the move. The men were professional, courteous, and personable to work with. The final cost was exactly as expected with no extra charges or hidden fees. They worked at a very quick pace. The men scored extra points by lifting my full size elliptical machine, avoiding the extra time to dismantle it. I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to hire them again. read more

The odd thing about these movers is they'll say "yes" to everything asked over the phone when you schedule the move, i.e., "Can you provide help with packing? Yes!" "Do you wrap all the furniture? Yes!" But when they arrive, not only is there a slow moving crew, they don't pack much, complain about it, and whatever they pack, they don't pack it well. I have scratched furniture, cracked glass table tops and damaged door jamb trim. They left some small things at the old residence that I asked them to pack. (At the end of the day, someone asked if everything had been packed & "what else" needed to go? At this point, we were $700 into the day and I had already asked them to pack the material so we left what we knew we could manage ourselves.) They were not expeditious and truly lacked a sense of urgency. We even helped to move things because it wasn't going quickly enough (they told us not to help but who wouldn't -- time is money!). It took 7.5 hours to move 1/2 of a home--mostly large items (dressers, a desk, a bed, and a good bit of miscellaneous items which we said when booking that we needed help packing.) As an anecdote, one of the guys had a cigarette break at 10:30--about 90 minutes into the move. There was also some bickering among them and didn't seem to work as a team. For example, it took 3 men to move one sofa--my fiancé and I had moved the same sofa by ourselves twice. One of the men also stood around a lot and his supervisor (though it wasn't very clear who that was...) didn't say anything. I rarely write reviews if I can't say something positive but in this case I felt it was necessary to speak on. I booked a move with 3 Movers and 1 Truck for May 1 , 2021. I called a few days before the move to confirm and to ensure everything was on schedule. The owner stated he had 17 moves for May 1st and may need to pass my move off to another company. After some back and forth with the owner, he assured me he would get me moved on time and on schedule. On the day of the move the movers were running late. The move was 9:00 a.m. And it was now 9:30 so I called and was sent to voicemail followed by a text asking to communicate that way. I informed the owner by text that the movers had not shown up. He said that he needed to pass my job off to another company and they will be contacting me shortly. Moments after that a company contacted me named Green truck moving and storage. They informed me they will not be there until 12 o'clock to get me moved. This was the most horrific move I have ever encountered. From being passed off from one company to another and then the company Green Truck movers and Storage were horrible as well. The move took a total of nine hours to move a four bedroom three bathroom house that was already packed. Then the movers got into an altercation talking about drawing weapons on one another. One of the workers quit on the job. The driver of the truck was totally disrespectful to me and my daughter. I tried contacting three movers and a truck to inform them of the altercation but they said I would need to contact the owner of the company because they were not there guys. Mind you they were the company I originally booked with. So, I tried contacting the owner of the company he was not very helpful and he was totally trying to support his workers when he was not physically on the ground seeing what was transpiring. After a very long day and a horrible move the owner tried to make me pay for the full price of the move. We went back-and-forth on the phone and I sais because of all that occurred I was not paying the full price. I did not want to pay anything but because the stuff did get moved I felt it was only right to pay for something. Eventually we settled on a price And that was the end of my dealings with this company. But in the mist of it all they damage the walls of the new place I moved into, they damage furniture the whole experience was just horrible. Guys on site worked hard in 95 degree heat. Showed up an hour late. Damaged my stuff but lead guy on site tried to say it was already like that. NOT! I now have a scratched up dresser, a gouged and scratched dining table base, a dented washer, and a scratched dryer which I did not have before. They were cheaper than other movers but the damages they caused was higher than any money I saved. They packed the truck with my furniture turned upside down and did a poor job of protecting my stuff. Do not use them if you care about and take care of your property. read more

We just moved from Savannah to Gainesville Ga. We scheduled our pod to arrive and then scheduled with Gene or Eugene to have his crew come and help unload. The pod driver was on a tight schedule and had to get back to Savannah in one day, so it was set to have everyone arrive at 9:30 am. We confirmed the appointment with 3 men 1 truck 2 days before the move day and all was good to go. The pod driver arrives but not the movers.. My fiance called Gene to see if they were on the way and he said "no". She asked what do you mean no? And he said she called and canceled last night, then argued when she said she never called, that we were standing next to the pod on a time frame. He was very aggressive and rude on the phone but said he would try to get some guys over to help, but it would be at least an hour. We then started to unload with the help of the 55+ year old driver and got a good chunk done ourselves but no one ever came. We decided to call and tell them not to bother coming since we were almost done. Gene/Eugene said just said "OK" and hung up on us. Didn't get the impression he was even trying to get a crew to us and we would have still been waiting all day. Very unprofessional company led by a rude individual. I see a previous yelp review talking about the "boss" arriving and cussing yelling at the workers, then getting in an actual fist fight with one. He responded that it wasn't them but that behavior and description of the boss fits with the impression he gave my fiance. read more

My beef is not with the workers, but with the company and the manager/owner. The workers arrived on time and ready to work, but they were not provided with ample tools and supplies to do the job properly (moving blankets, tools to disassemble furniture, and dollys). The dolly they had was broken, and they did not want to move a (very) expensive refridgerator because they explained to me that if they damaged anything it came out of THEIR pockets. The dolly was missing a wheel, and was pretty shabby overall, so I did not blame them. They repeatedly called their boss (the owner I am assuming) who was arguing with them over the phone, so he would not have to come assist them and bring them what they needed. He finally arrived, and I am not exaggerating, he argued very loudly and profanely, in a cul de sac full of kids, and squared off against one of his workers, and threw punches. I had to call the police. The job took way longer than it should because it was understaffed, and no one was in charge. The workers did the best they could, but they were set up for failure. The boss took one hours charge off our bill, but it did not make up for the nightmare experience. read more

I had received a quote for a move on 11/17 for a 2 man crew. Later in the week I received at text asking if I'd rather have a 3man crew and that it would pretty much end up costing close to the same. I had given them a list of the items I had to move and said "the apartment is on the 3rd floor, so you'd know better if I need the third person." He said "Ok, let's do 3men" Sunday morning arrives and only two guys arrive. I show them my stuff, which isn't much and the guy is looking at me like I'm nuts-then says "there's only two of us" I told him that I was told there'd be 3 of you. He then said "let's go over your contract" He starts and says "it's $115 and hour, plus there's another $115 truck fee, then this fee (I believe he said $200) for insurance, also there's a fee for shrink wrap, tape and blankets; plus what floor is your apartment on? When I told him third, he then told me $100+ per floor we have to take the stuff up" I said "I'm sorry I was quoted $115 per hour that's ALL and now you just added all these charges; I can't do that!" He said "let me call the owner and see if we can do anything" He came back in and said "yeah he said the contract stands, he's not going to adjust any of the pricing" I told him "I'm not doing it then, when I called for the quote all the guy said was $115 per hour for a two man crew" He asked who I talked to. I told him I didn't know the man's name, but it was the one whose car was hit this week because he told me to text him the info so he could book it, since his car was just hit and he had to call the police. So, a move I expected to be under $400 was starting out to be over $1,000 for a small local move. NO THANKS!!!!! read more

The company policy is to bill after the job is complete and you are satisfied with service. They give you 24 hours to pay the invoice. The manager Maverick called me after the job was complete as I was at work and my cousin was there. I missed the call. He called the police. I returned the call 10 minutes later. He had not invoiced me. They took double the amount of quoted time. He never asked me about the job. He lied about calling the police and kept contradicting himself about their policies. If you are concerned with payment then get money on the front end. I guess he assumed I wouldnt pay since I am black and I moved my belongings in storage on Tara Blvd. read more

So I used this "outfit" a little while ago and they pull up in a rental truck -not a good start. The move went decent, but the workers were rather slow and one could not stay off his phone! The other guy screamed at him, but "phone guy" could not hear due to going back and forth between phone calls and his music. I assume the slowness was to bolster their hours...the more hours, the higher I pay and the more they get paid! I, literally had to start helping take stuff to the truck -I worked quicker than they did and am twice their age. My main problem is with the owner, Eugene or Gene. I had the following damage: leg damage to a European antique piece, large scratch and dent to the front door (which was previously freshly painted) and the new linoleum floor in my laundry room was gouged/ripped up when the guys put in the washing machine. Granted these damages are not huge, but the principle here is that they won't return a call or text and these items need to be repaired/replaced. I have called no less than 25 times and left messages which go un-returned and sent numerous texts with photos as well. This situation will unfortunately get expensive for Gene as he cannot seem handle a dissatisfied customer as an adult and merely return a phone call. As much as I hate to, I am now forced to turn to litigation. And Gene...when you read this -don't try to reply "I must have 3 Movers 1 Truck or Buford Moving Company confused with someone else"...I don't. See you soon! read more

Eugene's employees Robert and Sam were so excited about our move because it was going to be easy. Moving out of ground floor apartment, no appliances, just furniture and the piano. Well, they did not cover the piano before strapping it in the moving truck. Straps damaged the piano. No damage occurred moving the piano out of the apartment or into the house. Damaged occurred because they didn't properly protect the piano in the moving truck. Promised it would be REPAIRED. Now, my number has been blocked, no return phone calls. Would not file with insurance...maybe they don't have any which I was told by Robert they did. This is an insurance claim and I am now being IGNORED. Would like to mention that my We successfully moved the piano from Kansas to Georgia without help and no damage. Had pictures to Eugene to prove it. Sam was inexperienced. If I could give zero stars I would my problem is not with the movers it's with the owner. I understand mistakes happen. In this case the owner should own up to them and he has not. He said he had insurance if items were broken during the move. A tall Greek statue from our dining room was broken one clean break and our bedframe for our guest bedroom was cracked and is beginning to break away even more. Our dresser was taking apart they did not put it back together and they kept the hardware the hardware is nowhere to be found so we had to replace that on our own. My husband has continued to try to contact this owner and he has not come forward and owned up to what he promised. He claimed that he could not replace our bedframe if we couldn't tell him the model number and who made it he has not even tried to contact us on replacing our statue. Although the guys were very nice who helped move they are not professional at all they need to be trained better with handling other people's personal items. It is not their fault the owner should be handling this situation and be more professional about what has happened. This is a loss for us so the best I can do is just warn others do not use this company yes they are cheap but there is a reason for it. Invest your money in a company that knows what they are doing. We moved back in April I have waited too long for the right thing to be done so that is why I am leaving this review. read more
