Shakespeare is not always easy to follow, and this interpretation was fun to watch as the actors put their personal touch on a bit of physical comedy, costume choices, singing a ditty or two or three, and accommodating a few planes flying over at pivotal points in the storytelling. Our group of 6 enjoyed the theatrics and several bits of dialogue are now incorporated into our jargon. Audio production is top notch, particularly when considering the competition from jet planes, crickets, cicadas, and sirens. The acting is phenomenal and we are so fortunate to have THIS in our city. I plan to return to see the other plays this summer in Central Park, as well as the production planned at headquarters in late autumn.

Benches are available (kinda uncomfortable) but you can consider bringing your own chairs or a blanket. This summer the group is already touring over 30 parks in Louisville! Sound was fantastic and I loved grabbing my camping chair to settle in and watch. Thank you for what you bring to the community!

It was my first time in Louisville and I saw that this place was really close to where I was grabbing dinner, so I wanted to stop by and grab a drink and check this place out. I'm assuming the area this bar is located in is the hipster area of Louisville. I'm not 100% sure, but having lived in Silver Lake (LA, CA) for a few years, there definitely was some recognizable symptoms of a hipster neighborhood. There's different sake beverages on the menu as well as a really solid, albeit small selection of whiskey (with more than reasonable prices too!). I ordered one of the individually packaged sakes and it was tasty. I got to look around and talk to the bartender a bit. He mentioned they had karaoke on Thursdays and are open to 4am (holy moly - so used to 2am on the west coast). I really wanted to come back, but was just so spent after dinner. It's a shame I couldn't hang out longer or just experience more of what this bar has to offer, but from what I experienced so far, a really great place!

The chicken on top of the nachos was super tender and juicy. I highly recommend their fried fish. I love the ambiance, with hand-crafted pieces from artists on the walls, ceilings and bars. The owners are very sweet and community-centric. And they are regularly hosting events and vendor markets on the lawn. But don't forget, their bar is open for regular business, too. I really love the spicy marg.

In the event of inclement weather, sometimes the performances can be moved indoors at Monnik and maybe Checks. Beer tents, food trucks, cake walks, pull tabs, good music, good people, good times! The other neighborhood bars get in on the fun too, with bands and food or drink specials at spots like the MerryWeather, Nach Bar, Old Hickory Inn, and others. Then when your "puck" lights up, get your order at the pickup window. Like all restaurants, Hauck's does some things better than others. Their burgers are excellent. If you're into smoked wings (I'm not), they're very good. Served hot, crispy, and not soggy. The sticky ribs appetizer were also excellent. I decided to try something other than a burger and went with the Big Brisket Dip. Smoked brisket, caramelized onions, cheese, horseradish aioli, and a side of au jus served on a hoagie bun. I added a side of steak fries. Hauck's nailed it. An excellent sandwich and crispy fries. I had hoped to take half home, but I just couldn't put the darn thing down. My wife ordered Dirty Nachos. They were a disappointment. Queso drenched chips? Nope. Black beans? Few and far between. A touch of pico. We added chicken (it was shredded). Some dry cheese (not melted). And a spicy aioli. Not at all what was described. The dish was so dry I thought it was designed to encourage ordering more beer to wash it down. Oh well, every time at the plate can't be a hit. One of the best things about Hauck's is the fun vibe. Lots of indoor/outdoor seating. Tons of games to keep little ones busy. And very pet friendly. We brought our Barkley, and he got to hang with two new friends, beautiful Collies.

You can sign up ; on line or there is a kiosk. Side note; Iroquois had a few under 21 singers but none seen at Wick's. That's not a problem for me because everyone should have an opportunity to join in. I must say I will be performing tonight (just a little plug for myself from 7 till 8 as a warm up for the main show). If singing is your thing or just looking for something to do before heading out for the evening, come check it out you my find a little liquid encouragement will have you singing. Love the concept.
