I called Sanctuary…read moreat the last minute for an afternoon appointment and they couldn't fit me in at a good time amidst my holiday shopping, so they recommended this sister salon. The salon was inviting and decorated nicely for the holiday. I had to wait about 20 minutes before my service began as Pattana finished up her previous service, but both Pattana and the girl at the front desk were apologetic and made me comfortable in the meantime in the waiting area. The bathrooms were clean and I was offered tea/coffee/water right away after coming in for my appointment. The salon also uses Aveda products, which I LOVE and are great for all hair different hair types. Pattana was a great stylist. She was warm and friendly and made sure that she knew exactly what I wanted for my cut. I hadn't had a haircut in several months and brought in photos of a long bomb on my phone. She made sure she looked carefully over the photos and that I understood how the haircut would frame my face and be different lengths in the front/back. I appreciated how much care she took to make sure I would be happy with the final result. Throughout the cutting process, she made sure I was okay with the length that was being taken off. When I wasn't sure if it was too much, she agreed to leave the length and to cut more later if needed. The end result was perfect. Thanks for a great cut, Pattana! I would definitely come back to her and to Mane Expressions after such a great first experience. The cut was $35 + tip and I left loving my new look!

She consulted me at length before beginning the cut and color to make sure I was 100% confident in my decision. She even took the time at the end of the session to teach me fun and quick ways to put my hair up on days not washed. She is extremely personable and I LOVE my color. I live in Chicago and have had countless bad experiences. No bad experience here with Angie! Will definitely be coming back.

I have diabetes and have gotten infections from other locations in Rockford- never from here. The interior is cute. They respond promptly to Facebook messages. Depending on who you get, I've had my gel nails last anywhere from 2-4 weeks without chipping at all. Massages for manicures and pedicures vary based on who is performing them and how busy they are. I would definitely recommend making an appointment. Edit: this place is really hit or miss depending on who you get. Some of the employees do not listen or understand what you may be asking for. If the owner is there she will usually set things straight, but otherwise it's a bit difficult. My last appointment took 2 hours for a pedicure and no-chip, but it was because I walked in during a super busy time. Edit 2: since I had a different person this time, the manicure didn't last as long. I got a chip after 1 week. However, the pedicure is holding up better. Trade offs I guess! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well he then just rushed the polish on my nails and sent me away. Later that day the polish started cracking on my nails... so now I have cracked clear polish.. I don't understand how hard it is to get a nice manicure.. especially charging 32$ for something so simple. Part of me wants to go back and get it fixed.. but I rather not. I'll find a new nail place.
