I saw a Christian product and called to order it a couple of days ago. I ended up NOT placing my order BECAUSE.......When the order for one item was complete, the item cost 49.99, I was charged tax, shipping and a SERVICE CHARGE. When they got done the order was over 71.00 plus. I said no way, that is too much money, so I found a local person who makes items and ordered it from him. The cost is half that of ordering from Through The Country Door. It was the service charge that really floored me. Why are you charging a service charge to place an order????????? I have been a customer for 10+ years. I have had issues in the past where an item is in the catalog but when you try to order it's out of stock with no restock information. This time I ordered a king size quilt. When I opened it to put it on my bed, there was a 3 inch section that was frayed and pulling away from the finished edge. I snapped a picture and sent it to Customer Service. No reply. I sent it again hoping they would make some kind of adjustment. The initial on the order is "S" I also paid for Express shipping to make sure I received the scarf in time to give to my Mom's nurse for Christmas. I received the beautiful scarf with the initial "P" !!!! I called customer service and was told they are out of blue plaid & I wouldn't receive a replacement until 24 - 27th!!! The shipping receipt had the initial P, however the Customer service rep verified my order is for the Initial "S" .... who do change my order! I ordered the chunky wood snowman and the assembly was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT! The little screwdriver that was supplied was TERRIBLE had to use a power drill and it's still not secure to the base!! I have been a customer of Country door for years.Always have been pleased.Back in the day, i was young and did not pay much to my credit score.Therefore i never noticed that everytime i ordered a item,which i was always pleased with,my credit score took a major hit.Now that im older and wiser and have a decent credit score ,i noticed when i placed a order that my score dropped 15 points.I thought maybe it was because i had not made a purchase in about 6 months . I called to make a payment to The Country Door when The automated answered the call, I gave my info, and they said i owed nothing and hung up. No real people answer the phone anymore so I tried to call and no one would answer. Finally when I did get a hold of some one they told me I owed them and should have just made a payment, I couldn't make a payment because the dumb automated keeps saying I don't owe anything and then hangs up on me. What are you suppose to do when this happen"s I had no idea because it has never happened to me before. They talk to you like your stupid and are no help at all. Then they still want to charge you to make your payment, when it is there fault in the first place you can't make the payment. I placed an order back in Feb, & had to keep on top of the order, then it was so sorry that item went "Out of Stock, even tho Country Door took a big ad placed & was advertised in "Farmhouse Magazine" which has just been released...that ad is what drove me over to the Country Door site!! A big advertisement on this quilt...well I thought, "OK these things happen." I placed a 2nd order for a different quilt and was approved w/a Credit Acct, was never told "Oh BTW, you need to make a down payment" I went online to place the down payment on the order.... then (5) days later, after the order was placed...I was told "So we're So Sorry it's "OUT OF STOCK" no notification of the "OTS" status, it's NOT shipping out. Certainly no notification of we're issuing you a credit back to your bank for your down payment because we messed up, you really have to phone us. I yet again had to call County Door Customer Service, we are not shipping your item because it's "OUT OF STOCK" why it's only been 5-days later after you placed your order & we cashed-in on your down payment, what are you worried about? I had placed a call to speak to a CS Supervisor to find out why in the world would you take my money & to process an order, if you don't even have in STOCK? Who runs such a EPIC SORRY, SORRY COMPANY owned by Colony Foods, I've called Country Door & Colony Foods Customer Service Managers who've stated "Well, I'll escalate to upper management" what good is that going to do??? The items I ordered were great but the customer service is absolutely horrible. I had my debit card stolen and so I called customer service to let them know and gave them a different card number. The following month, I got a nasty letter from them stating I did not make my payment. I called and they said they had no record of me calling them. I gave them the new card number again.. next month.. same thing... they also took my credit line away from me!! I finally got the payment corrected to the right account.. they take out my payment each month and STILL send me a notification that they will turn me over to collections. When I call, I get automated answering that tells me my account is current! It's SO frustrating!! read more

I contacted County door about covid 19 help. I was told by Jerry in the costumer service that if I had 10 dollars in the bank I should send it to them. I have never been late or over the limit. I did send money at the beginning of the month. I sent a email today to County door letting them know about my conversation with Jerry. The reply was thank you for your email we will close your account and discontinue sending you catalogs and we will continue to send you your monthly bill. I'm glad the account is closed wh6im back at work I will pay them off. Beware of predatory businesses this place is over priced charges to much interest I'm sorry I even opened this account. I'm redecorating my bedroom as well as a few other areas and I found everything I wanted​ at Country Door. However, the catalog and online pictures differed on the quilt so I called to clarify. The lady was very helpful and realized the pictures were different and she needed to have it addressed by management that wasn't there on a Saturday. I asked how would I know when to call back etc because it was confusing and by calling next week I would get a different representative. Her suggestion was to order it and see what it really was after it arrived and I could send it back if it wasn't right...??? Since we were discussing options I said no because that's too much n too long and a trip to the post office....Maybe....If.....Etc n she got ticked off and very short with me. I told her "you do not get to be short n rude to me" and then she snapped back at me that she was trying to give me options. I hung up. I have around $500 dollars worth of items picked out. Ordered a lovely black/white quilt and curtains to match. Order shipped in multiple packages. No problem however the quilt, which I received first was red. Called customer service said I would send back and wait for correct one but I was not paying return fees for their mistake. They sent me a label. Black quilt and curtains came and they were not black/white as shown but black/cream. Called again said I was returning. I should have stopped there. Saw some nice drapes for the LR. Ordered 4 pair in 84" length. Colors were very nice I was excited to hang them. They were about 3 inches short. Again called and returned. A few months ago I returned home to find a message from them to contact them. I did. And the rep said my payment was fifteen dollars short. I checked my check register and told her this simply wasn't possible. I pointed out that I had an excellent payment history with them. She told me that the late fee would be taken off my bill. On 9/28/2016 I ordered the cutest little fall decoration (pumpkin solar car and trailer set) for $52.44. What I received was a red bird for $16.99. When I called "customer service" the "lady" explained that they sent me the wrong item and they were all sold out of what I had originally ordered. She then explained that they would be sending me a return label and in a few WEEKS I would be receiving my refund. I finally on 10/17/16 received $42.49 (why not the FULL AMOUNT) that's a DAMN good question!! TOTAL SCAM & the BBB is going to get an ear full from me! Nice items, but I had a terrible customer service experience. After several years being a customer, apparently the company has a new "security" system at checkout. I answered all the questions and paid for my order. I received a confirmation email a couple days later. Over a week goes by and there is no indication my order has shipped. I call customer service and the person I spoke to was very unhelpful, questioning me, my credit card, and being quite curt. I felt so uncomfortable speaking with her, my husband got on the phone. She proceeds tell us that I somehow "bypassed" the security system, even though I recall answering several security questions. So, my order was hanging in limbo without any follow up from Country Door to set things right for me so that I could get the items I ordered. I thank myself for following up on the order only to realize I would never have gotten it. So sad and ridiculous. I unfortunately won't do business with them again. It's stressful and confusing. If the call happened like this - "So sorry for the inconvenience and our apologies for not contacting you personally about any problems with this order. You are a valued customer. We have a new security system online and there seems to be some glitches. I will process your order right away on the phone..." - it would have made a huge difference! I have been a good customer of CD for a long time! Always paid my bills on time etc. However, last month I received a threatening call from them stating that I was in arrears with my account????? and there was going to be a $20 late fee??? Whaaaaaat. Tried speaking to a Customer Service person at their (877) #, but they were insisting I haven't made a payment. I checked my bank account and BAM! found the payment was taken out of my account!!! I have received now 3 threatening calls in the past month plus 2 letters stating that this will now affect my credit rating etc. Last night I spoke to Customer Service and they said yes... they can see all my payments of Feb 8th $40, Feb 15th $20 and again Feb 27th for 65.93 (my balance) ... but they have not been processed ??? Again Whaaaaaaaaaat! I was told I needed a statement from my bank showing payments sent to Country Door. I explained that the error must be on their end, I was immediately transferred to the Credit Department, where again, they stated no payments have been received since August???? Went to bank this morning, got the 3 payments verified and I have mailed it to Country Door (So they can stick their threats up their a**). This company has threatened me and disrespected me. When they receive the confirmation from my bank I will be demanding an apology. Not once did they look into if it was an accounting error on their end, etc. They assumed I was lying. I would not give these scam artists a star! I called from a "new" catalog I got from them. Several items I was going to order and Thank God most of them were not in stock - here is why- I ordered the Venetian bedspread and pillow shams! When those items arrived I was shocked - $189.00. The spread was heavy like a piece of heavy cardboard. It was so horribly made and it had a bad smell to it. If I kept that I would need help to put it on and take it off the bed. The two shams - had a piece of the same material for the show or front part of the pillow with two elastic bands on the back to hold it on the pillow! Trash! When I looked at the return papers I realized that for this heavy piece of junk I was going to pay to return it. I called their customer service line and was told that was "their policy." I took it to mail and the cost was around $50.00. I called Country Door again and finally a woman told me she would send me a FEDEX prepaid label. "We will only do that one time!" The FEDEX label wouldn't work so I shipped it anyway and paid for it. Now I see they credited me for the return minus the shipping I paid for! I will be calling them and perhaps stop payment on my credit card. They sell trash and have many "come ons" that they don't have in stock. Beware when you buy something online about the return policy. We should not have to pay for the return of poor quality items. read more

One month ago, I asked a simple question about an accent table in their catalog. I wanted to know if this table had drawers, since it looked like it might and I want an end-table with some storage space. The Customer Service Rep said she needed to contact the manufacturer of the table and this would take at least one week (in this day of instant websites?!), and I told her I would patiently await her information. That was one month ago, and I wrote to her a few days ago very politely asking for the information she had surely learned by now. However, she refuses to contact me or provide this or any further information. I wrote to ask if ignoring their customers' inquiries was standard practice at this business, and she hasn't answered that message yet, so I am left to assume that ignoring their customers--if they have any--is in fact their usual practice and that they do not appreciate their customers contacting them for any reason except perhaps to purchase their products.
