I have worked with one of the photographers that came before and she is amazing, as was Janae. It was nice not to have to drag my newborn to a studio and they had more props and adorable things to put the baby in and on than I could have imagined. This is the perfect way to capture my sweet baby and I cannot wait to see all of the great pics!

This business is good and the pictures shown are a good representation of the finished product…read more However, they are a newer company as of 2016 and you can feel the learning curve from the initial set up to the photo session. I'm located near Kansas City, my photographer was at my house for nearly 5 hours. She got some good shots but it was a very long day for being 7 days postpartum. The company trains each photographer so each session is like the last. The pro is that their photos seem consistent, the con is that my photos were almost the exact same as the ones on their advertisement and likely the same if my neighbor were to order a session. Furthermore, I didn't get to choose my photographer, she was assigned based on my location and the company said they could not send me examples of her work because all the photographers are trained the same and their work is indistinguishable. During my session I missed the spontaneity of finding props or locations within my home that would make the photo shoot special and unique to me. My dog was also not allowed which was sad as she was present in my previous newborn session with my eldest. Lastly, the company only gives you 7 days to choose your pictures (a selection of only 29-30, which didn't seem like enough for 5 hours of picture taking). Then once you receive them you have 7 days to download them. This seems like a tight schedule for a mom juggling a newborn and a toddler. With all this said, if you like the pictures shown in their Yelp profile and you don't mind any of the above critique, then go for it.

My husband and I had a wedding in LA and his family wasn't well enough to fly, so we hosted a fancy family gathering in KC. And I spaced on booking a photographer. She came to our location and took the most amazing pre-dinner photos of our group of 11 and made us all look flawless. Realistically, this will probably be the last time we are all together for such a happy occasion and Abby was professional and her photos came out insanely gorgeous. Absolutely hire her. You will be so happy you did.

He was so personable you felt like you've known him forever! It was hard to pick out our favorites from the shoot! The amount of patience and professionalism shown by Brant was incredible. He captured so many precious moments and was able to keep our kids engaged through the whole session. Brant took his time, getting to know us on a personal level before doing anything else, and as a result the quality of his work is not simply in the photos, but the experience, and the ultimate result. Brant was able not just to capture moments, but they distill them in such a way as to capture the beauty and soul of what is going on around them. You will not be disappointed. I wish Brant lived in our city, because if so he would be our photographer for all our special family photo sessions!

I found Brant on Yelp and booked him to come to the Birthday Party and take some great family photos. Brant was a DREAM to work with. He was flexible and easy-going as to what time we would start the photo shoot. He got there early and waited patiently as everyone got Dolled Up. He had professional lighting and equipment, he was careful to get all the shots I had requested and was agreeable to any suggestions. In less than two weeks I received some incredible shots from the evening and I could not be happier with the results. Everyone looks great and the quality of the shots are clear. I would not hesitate to recommend Brant Brogan for any of your photography needs. He does great work and is a pleasure to work with. Thank you, Brant from me and my family. Everyone loves the photos!

Oh my--where to begin! I'll start by saying that Shawn and Kodi are incredible, and the photos are…read moreof equal caliber. Now to jump into the details...  We were initially going to get married in Kansas City, but then we opted to get married somewhere close to us. I reached out to Shawn to let him know we weren't getting married in KC any longer, but he said they would be willing to travel to Savannah, GA to shoot our wedding. I was a little hesitant about using a photographer who wasn't from the area and not meeting them before the wedding (my husband wasn't up for engagement photos), but I loved their photos and knew we were in good hands with how responsive he was every time I reached out to him. They were great about working with us on the package, and we immediately felt a connection to him during our pre-wedding call. Shawn had great ideas about our "sparkler" photo timing and had great insight on the timeline.  When we met Shawn and Kodi a couple of weeks later at the rehearsal, we knew we had made the right decision based on their professionalism and the demeanor between the two of them. On the wedding day, Shawn showed up in a tuxedo to shoot and was the definition of professionalism. I knew he was incredibly talented the minute he started taking photos of our rings and other details, and I was blown away by how quickly he got through the wedding party and family photos. (Either my family was on their best behavior or he was completely keeping them in line--going with the latter!) We had some ideas of where to shoot photos, but Shawn had the eye for where we should set up and how we should pose. I thought it would be awkward, but it was so much fun since he was great at giving instructions and kept us moving at a seemingly natural pace.  Kodi served as the second shooter, and her energy was incredibly calming that day. She was an amazing support to Shawn (or so it appeared to us) and also to me--from reminding us when to bring flowers, coordinating timing details, making me feel at ease for being AN HOUR AND A HALF BEHIND SCHEDULE (Yikes!!!! All my fault, not theirs!), and so much more. Their ability to work as such a strong team was so wonderful to watch, and it enhanced the experience for me because they were able to play off each other's ideas and personalities to come up with the best shots and provide the most perfect experience.  We are in the process of getting the photos back now, and I've been so blown away by everything they caught, their creative eye on some shots, and how they were able to make my husband and I feel so comfortable so we had "natural" smiles in the photos. I also love how they caught moments that may have seemed small at the time but are so precious now that I'm looking back on them. The only sad part of this process is that we don't get to hang with them again, as they were truly such a joy to be around and work with throughout the entire process. I cannot say enough positive things about Swander Photography and am so grateful I stumbled across them! Please book them--you won't regret it!
