I'm not sure where to begin, so I will just lay out my experience: I drove from Fort Worth to Breckenridge, got to the hotel, valet got me squared away (as I had 2 karts of luggage to bring to the room). I had my dog, and he has an expensive diet with fresh ground frozen meats. Trying to get settled in, I wanted to crash out ASAP, but I had to unload a plethora of booze and a few other things from the fridge - which I immediately realized did not have any sort of freezer. No problem, I just opened my windows and stuck the meat out on the sill - no problem keeping it frozen. Wanting to wind down (super strung out from that drive), I checked out what was on TV. Thank you EVERYONE who left their subscriptions logged in! I got into some shows that I would have never seen otherwise! Then I thought I'd pop some popcorn - no microwave (wtf). I seriously thought about walking out to the lobby in my undies to get my corn popped, but the building was freezing cold. I highly recommend carrying a hot plate and small pot, because I always do, and hardly ever need it - except for this time. I never popped my corn, but made plenty of soup. Then came time to actually crash out. I like to bathe before I bed in, so that's what I did. I ran the water in the tub on full hot until full. The room was so cold, the tub cooled the water significantly, but that really didn't bug me too bad. It's when I was layed down in the tub when I realized I had to stand up each time I needed soap and shampoo lol... Hey, no prob, I did that, relaxed, everything was great, even the sliding barn door :D I crawled into bed, and it was GREAT. Maybe my own bed sucks, but I was in heaven...... until it all started. I could hear EVERYTHING! Doors slamming, people talking, dogs barking (to which mine responded - uggh), and TRASH TRUCKS OMG! These things really were all I have to complain about. Every member of staff: cleaning ladies, valet guys, TALENTED bartenders, etc... we're great! I am giving 4 stars, because I'm really not into the ski resort thing enough to know what is the norm, but I have to bring these things to your attention. I would probably stay there again. I've read the 1, 2, and 3 star reviews, and I sympathize. My vacation was great, but the room was the cilantro (great to some, awful to others).

We parked at valet stand and no one was there, walked in checked in and they gave key cards and said they would text me for valet. No welcome, no directions to our room, literally nothing else. 2 - we are in room 320 Trailblazer, upon walking in there were three flys buzzing around and room was hot. 3 - we are traveling with a baby and specifically booked this room as it had two rooms with doors inside. - after getting baby asleep after travel day we come to find out the right side door doesn't even shut, latch is broken, SUPER ANNOYING. Had to wake baby up and switch rooms. 4 - left door with working latch happens to be the squeakiest door in Colorado. Fix the dang doors guys! 5 - both side tooma have a tiny maybe 10 inch fan circulating air so in essence these tiny rooms become extremely hot and stuffy. Horrible option for a sleeping baby!! Door becomes useless, choose noise level over temperature. 6 - speaking of noise, freaking barking dogs in the hallway with owners who have zero respect or courtesy. Also, as I'm laying here fighting this review about every 8 minutes some door shuts on the floor and slams shut. Slamming doors all night is all I see in my future! 7 - a primary reason we booked this hotel was for the reviews for the restaurant and the food options available. Come to find out it was closed for a private event......cool, so glad we planned for a nice dinner at the hotel. So long story short, would I stay here for free......No Would I pay the exorbitant amount for the room and parking for below sub par service and quality.......hell no.......never again.

The Denver Press Club is the oldest, continually running press club in the U.S. It is also the last…read morewith its own freestanding building, which celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2025. That's a landmark for any organization! For a while, DPC had some ups and downs, as happens in long-established clubs. It had a season of bad leadership, mismanaged direction, and a whole lot of rebuilding to do. The ship is now righted. It again feels like the community space I got to know and call a second home when I first moved to Denver over 20 years ago. The programming has grown with monthly and quarterly events from craft nights and mixers to traditional poker Thursdays. The topics for special conversations and panels are engaging, informative, and offerings for a better understanding of current events and international policies. The guest bartenders and handful of annual functions continue as well, but there are so many more opportunities for engagement with the club and its members now, too. If you only want good conversation and good cheer, this is still the place to pull up a seat while Jim makes sure you're not thirsty! Beyond the historic setting and stories from another time, I'm glad to report that The Denver Press Club once again stands as a place to gather that honors its rich legacy, which has monitored Denver's pulse for over 100 years.

It's a private club for journalists and beyond and the oldest press club in the country! I was absolutely amazed by the old school charm and the swanky bar on the second floor. Don't forget to take a tour of the basement poker room also. There is history in every corner throughout the building from the typewriters, names of "deadline room", "poet's corner", etc. to all the notable journalists cartoon portraits on the wall.
