Literally googled Chinese medicine close to me. If you are looking for all the frills of a modern medical office this isn't your place. But if you look beyond the simple space and trust his practice I find him to be extraordinary. Dr Mao is incredibly intuitive, asks all the right questions and most important to me, he spends all the time that is needed to test and answer any questions I might have. He is so positive he can help and he has helped me so much. I've been using him for about 2 months now and 90% of the time my lungs almost feel normal. He's the real deal. I would recommend him to anyone who is open and willing to give this method a try. Good luck to anyone seeking help on their health you will be in good hands.

He set me up with herbs specifically for those issues which i saw improvement in within on week. On my second visit with him he listened very carefully to me and made some minor yet significant adjustments to my existing herbal regimen. The improvement continues and I'm feeling better than I have in years. I will continue to use Dr. Mao as my primary "go to" guy for any and all issues in the future. Thank you Dr. Mao

Dr. Lu and his team are absolutely excellent. I've been here a couple times, and I received an…read moreinitial consultation, "chiropractic"-like adjustments for the myriad things I have misaligned or overly tight, electro-acupuncture (don't worry, it sounds more scary than it actually is!), and a tuina massage experience. Usually, one of his students does the tuina massage, and Dr. Lu does the electro-acupuncture. This is one of the few treatments I have tried that has given me any kind of prolonged relief, and a feeling like the ROOT issues are being addressed -- not just the typical slap-a-bandaid, have a prescription packet, get a referral to x specialist here, and thanks for the co-pay treatment I'm so tired of. Hooray for eastern medicine migrating to the US. I have several ongoing conditions with chronic pain. I have tried just about anything you can think of and only some things do more than mask the pain or fix it for a few days, only to have the full pain and tightness come creeping back after a week or two. Dr. Lu's treatment made me feel immediately healthier and better -- i.e. less pain, more revitalized, and stable, for a couple weeks after waking up. I could actually put weight on my right leg again without wincing after one appointment! Well, I booked a follow-up and it had me feeling almost normal again in terms of my pain. (This didn't last more than a few weeks; however, I'm hopeful that with enough successive appointments, it can last longer, and a couple weeks of near-normalcy is pretty awesome when you're in constant pain!!) I plan to go back as much as I can, as the one caveat (especially for being a student): the service his staff and Dr. Lu provides are somewhat expensive. A session of tuina massage and the electro-acupuncture cost $90. An appointment for both is usually 60-90 minutes long, depending on how busy they are and if you get to see Dr. Lu for more than a few minutes. Add another 20-30 minutes if it's your first appointment for the consultation. Dr. Lu has clearly mastered the healing art of Chinese medicine. Try asking him for a prescription of TCM (Chinese herbal medicine), if you can afford it. It helps.

They have improper billing practices. - sent NO INVOICE before charging two $115 transaction on our credit card. - only notified us one day before, still with NO INVOICE. Just an email saying they'll do it. - refused to work with my insurance even though i'm fully cover and was covered under other appointments I had with them. Stating they called them to figure it out but with no valid proof but word of mouth. It was really strange they didn't let me know ahead of time. The service date was in March and it's AUG they just let me know and charged my card that my insurance wasn't working for only this date of service. I could have just called my insurance myself to get it figured out but i didn't get a chance to do that. STILL no invoice. My insurance clearly stated I only owned $20 on my EOB (Explanation of Benefits) and when they got reprocessed then my EBO said I own nothing. Yet even thought I already paid my copay and my EOB confirmed that copay... I got charge $230 ($115 twice) with, like I said, NO INVOICE. Want to emphasize that. They stated they resubmitted my claims but only sent me screenshots without my name attached so i'm not sure if those were for my claims. They also sent me documentation of for claim forms but the date was literally the date I ask for the forms... which was also strange. Asked for a copy of the forms with the correct dates but was not given them. My insurance company called them and asked for the proof of their resubmission to make sure they were on time to confirm its my insurance was at fault but they have not wanted to try and help by just sending them. It's a pretty simple task. Even I reach out to try and have them just share the proof to the insurance but for some reason they won't and they won't reassured me or confirmed that they have or are willing to do so. Just because insurance(s) have protocols even if it's their fault doesn't mean you should just throw it onto the patient without letting them know. Let's say they are right and that the insurance didnt process correctly. Then their contract with my insurance would still cover it still if they just sent proof and they can just reprocess it as normal. It shouldn't be out of my pocket. I'm still working with them together get this figured out. If not, i'll probably be filing a complaint with the Oregon Medical Board. I think this practice is fine in terms of actually medicine but they need serious help and understand of what is right for billing, balance billing, insurance, patient reach out etc.

I have been seeing Laurie Terzo for the last 10 years. I can't believe it's taken me this long to…read morewrite a review! When I first considered acupuncture way back when, I was very skeptical. My husband urged me to go to an acupuncturist for my shoulder pain, and since Laurie accepted my insurance and had amazing reviews and credentials, I decided to see her. Her treatment and care worked wonders, and I have been seeing her off and on through the last decade for different problems that I have had. I have also seen other acupuncturists, but they didn't seem nearly as knowledgeable, technical or personable as Laurie. So far, I have seen Laurie for: - Muscle pain behind my right shoulder blade and neck - Muscle pain in my middle back - Pain in my sacrum area from carrying around my toddler - Fertility and pregnancy-related things - Insomnia Her treatment has made real, significant differences in resolving/healing the above issues. She turned me from being a skeptic of Oriental Medicine to a believer in its effectiveness with credentialed and knowledgeable practitioners. I also appreciate her conservative approach, and genuine concern for you to get better. She never advocates a "standing appointment" (ie - you need to always see her every week). Her goal is to get you better as quickly as possible, not to make money. I appreciate that very much. A huge "nice to have" is that she also accepts insurance for covered diagnoses and processes claims when you are within her insurance networks. She is in many insurance networks, and her assistant takes the time to call and figure out your coverage for you. It was so nice and convenient! Also, I need to give a special shout out to Bianca, her assistant. Bianca is great, efficient, and proactively follows up on administrative items. I called on a Friday evening about a potential billing issue to my credit card, but I learned over the weekend that I was wrong. Bianca called ME on Monday to see if there was still any issue. What service! Anyways, if you are looking for a legitimate, caring, effective acupuncturist, please see Laurie Terzo. Note that she normally works on only Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

I've had a lot of stress in my life in the past from work and a car accident. Seeing Laurie improves my pain level and overall health. But I always leave Laurie's office much more relaxed and less stressed - I think in part it's her presence in addition to her skills as an acupuncturist. She takes care of muscle spasms, allerigies, insomnia, stress to just name a few. Like Teresa said, she will also offer suggestions for herbal remedies (even via email) and never pushes a sell which I've experienced before. I'm torn between Laurie and Michelle because both are the best. Bonus is Laurie has night hours. I do miss her Saturday hours though because it was nice to have the option to not cram in a session during the work week. She also accepts Blue Cross PPO.
