A few weeks ago, my daughter called me and said that we should go on a "Staycation". I did not know…read morewhat this meant. She explained that many people were doing this to save money in transportation when going to other places. It meant we stay in Kingston, where we live, and enjoy re-discovering our town, taking tours, we had not done before, disconnecting for a few days of our jobs, and most important, spending time just us: mother and daughter. What a wonderful surprise it was for me to arrived at Frontenac Club to spent 3 days together. This boutique hotel is one of a kind located in the heart of downtown Kingston. We parked the car in the parking lot of the hotel during all our stay, as we were able to walk to the sites we wanted to visit. Also, within walking distance are the best restaurants in town. We were given two marvelous suites, one with a full living room, king bed, and an astonishing bathroom with a bathtub. The other one was also very impressive with all the amenities needed. Both suites were impeccable clean! Every morning, we went down to their restaurant called "The Bank" where we had a well served and complete breakfast (included), and the last day we dine there (tapas), accompanied by life music and the tastiest margaritas I have ever had. Frontenac Club personnel make a special point to get to know their guests. With 20 suites, all with different themes and sizes, they catered families, singles and couples. They have a sweet bar and small arcade for children, a lounge to read and play games, a patio to relax, enjoy the weather while having meals served also there. It is important to note that Frontenac Club is a heritage historic house build in 1871, and although it has been completely and beautifully renovated, it has kept its special character. It was home to one of the first Canadian Bank of Montreal, and therefore there is a vault, so large that it has been conditioned to host business meetings or private celebrations. I highly recommend staying at Frontenac Club. If you are celebrating an anniversary, or a family gathering (my brother and his family stayed here when they visited us from overseas), or if you are celebrating another special occasion, or coming to Kingston as a tourist, or as a staycation guest, you will not be disappointed!

We had planned a three day, two night staycation, with the plan to play tourists in our own beautiful city. The Frontenac Club, as the premiere luxury hotel in the area, was the ideal backdrop to this mother-daughter time, but to say that it exceeded our expectations is a serious understatement. The property itself is stunning, a perfect blend of historic character and modern luxury. The rooms are elegant yet inviting, with thoughtful design that makes every detail feel curated just for you. Our suites were a sanctuary: the Bell had soaring windows that filled the space with light, plush bedding that enveloped us in comfort, and my room, the Locomotive, had a spa-like bathroom that made every morning and evening feel indulgent. Every single inch of every space was impeccable. I am not sure if the staff run around with magnifying glasses, but I swear I couldn't find one thing that wasn't so clean that it sparkled. Each morning, we had a fantastic breakfast, included. It was really fun to come back to the room each night to find the menu for the next morning - each day had a special feature. On the first morning we had the Frontenac Benny, and on the second, we had stuffed french toast (a personal standout for the trip). We also loved the signature cocktails offered at the gorgeous bar, and indulged in the Candy Bar hidden away on the 2nd floor. Even sitting and reading in the comfortable and well appointed boardgame bar was a quiet respite from regular life. But what truly sets the Frontenac Club apart is the people, especially Sean. His warmth, dedication, and genuine care made us feel like family. That rare balance of world-class luxury with heartfelt hospitality is almost impossible to find, and yet Sean and the team deliver it effortlessly. My mom and I will never forget how welcome and cared for we felt; it's the kind of experience that stays with you long after you leave. When I first arrived, Thomas showed me to our rooms, and I told my mom that I would need to go get some bath bombs for the huge soaker tub. To my surprise, a few moments later while I was settling in, Thomas knocked on the door with some bath supplies. Each member of staff is available at all times - a cellphone number is provided and you can text any request and they will literally go above and beyond to find a way to make things even more special. Its these kinds of little moments that make a luxury stay so worthwhile. Kingston is a great place to visit. To see it from the lens of visitors for the first time really reminded us what makes it so special - we took the Island Princess boat cruise and saw a stunning sunset, ate at world-class restaurants like Tango Nuevo and Casa Domenico, and enjoyed the Kingston Penitentiary tour. Thank you to the Frontenac Club for hosting us on this really special getaway. From the quiet elegance of the rooms, to the extraordinary service, to the sense of being at home in a place so rich with history, the Frontenac Club is more than a hotel--it's a destination in itself. Kingston is lucky to have such a gem, and we can't wait to return. (If I could give more, I would.)

The hotel staff were all very friendly, and both the check in and check out process were quick and easy. Guests had free WiFi access, and bottled water in their rooms. The room I stayed in was clean, spacious, and had a beautiful view of the frozen lake. The desk in the room was also a good size, and had plenty of outlets in convenient, easy to access spots for those who need to plug in and do a bit of work. The bed was overall comfortable, but the pillows were too soft and didn't offer enough support for me. However, it was an overall pleasant stay, and I would recommend this hotel to those here for either business or leisure.

No other Best Westerns offer these type of rooms, except for this one in Kingston, so definitely one-of-a-kind in Ontario! I actually brought my husband here to celebrate his milestone birthday, and I wanted to make sure it is extra special. When I told him we are going on a surprise getaway in Kingston... he asked me what is there to do in Kingston? lol. I didn't say anything ;) The room we got was the Tranquility Room with an outer space theme! Thank you to the reception desk staff for helping me keep it a secret :D Husband was COMPLETELY mind blown when he switch on the lights - the space capsule lid up, there was an astronaut, beautiful wall decors, crater rocks and purple crystals - it was SO. EFFING. COOL. The space capsule was our bedroom on the 3rd level, a jacuzzi tub on the 2nd and an awesome lounging area on the 1st. I absolutely loved the theatre-styled love seat; you can even extent it out to relax with your feet up! Each area is equipped with a TV (even the bathroom!), husband was happy he didn't miss the playoffs lol. Champagne and strawberries comes with the Fantasy Room package, which was a nice touch. Also complementary breakfast delivered in your room or buffet-styled at Bistro Stefan on the main floor. We quickly ate at the bistro for dinner that night and went back to continue to enjoy the room lol. There is also a bar/lounge/resto called Tom's Place across from the bistro if you want some causal drinking and snacking ;) Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Best Western Fireside Inn. This is great for couples for a quick getaway lol and even family with kids - they are going to absolutely love this out-of-this-world experience! Book now :D!

It had a newer feel overall, although still consistent with the brand and product in terms of service, amenities & layout. I was here for a conference & was impressed by the food offerings & conference room amenities, such as temperature control (although a bit loud), AV & food flow. The room was as expected although the bathroom was smaller than I've seen at other Marriott Residences. Although we ate out, I still like the full kitchen, and the little touches like popcorn for the microwave. At one point, we had the privacy card out & a note was left to advise housekeeping had been by and to reach out to the front desk if we needed anything. We later requested some towels, which were in room when we returned. The included breakfast was good, as usual, with hot & cold options, which varied slightly per day. Typical offerings: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, fruit, oatmeal, waffle station, bread, juice & coffee. I even got to hit the gym this trip! It was popular with a few patrons & featured free weights, bike, treadmill, as well as hot tub & pool beside. If I'm in town, I'll stay here again!

Staff could care less and treated us (their guests) as though we should feel privileged to have been permitted to visit their hotel. The condescending attitude is pervasive and ridiculous. As Bonvoy Platinum members, they also refused to honour program guarantees. They blamed Covid for everything and were unapologetic. What is the point of being loyal to Marriott if the program benefits being guaranteed are simply ignored? If you are a Marriott Bonvoy member, I would expect none of your benefits at this hotel. Worse, you'll be treated like your inconveniencing them for having stayed here. My suggestion, stay elsewhere, join Hyatt or Hilton rewards programs. They treat their guests as they say they will.

Perfect way to end the short stay! The room we got was really lovely. Beds were totally clean, no stains on the sheets or mystery hair. I was very surprised at the level of cleanliness in all areas of the room to be honest. Their beds are super comfortable. I actually managed to get a really good night's sleep. I love the shampoo, conditioner, etc brand they use. It was not too heavily scented. I also love seeing that they mount the entire bottle into the shower area so it's as little waste as possible. No more little plastic travel bottles!!! Love the eco initiative there. The only reason for the missing star is because the towel bars were super dusty and the shower head was covered in limescale. Water pressure was lacking quite a bit It's probably very hard water they have too, so part of housekeeping routine should be to occasionally do a vinegar soak of the fixtures. 100% would return if we're in the Kingston area.

There's free parking and it's not that far of a drive to downtown. Our room was really spacious, modern looking and was clean (I wiped down all hard surfaces with Lysol wipes when I arrived and the wipes came out white (not all dirty and grey). I loved the way the room was laid out and the decorations. The coffee table was a set of 2 nesting tables, the table that the TV was on slid in and out, and there was a cute corner table. I liked that there was a night table on both sides of the bed and each side had a plug. There's a microwave, coffee maker and fridge. The fridge is small and does not have a freezer. Free internet was reliable. Staff were nice and efficient. There's a pool and fitness centre, but we did not check out either one. I would definitely consider staying here again.

We chose that area to sit and catch up before dinner so as not to disturb other guests. It was mutually agreed amongst us that we were made to feel unwelcome by the repeated stares and dirty looks we received from the middle aged lady that was working that afternoon (Nov 9th). The location is great, the beds are super comfy however the rooms are in desperate need of some TLC. Well, I'll tell you what: Vogue was right on. Each of the rooms is furnished in stylish, tasteful antiques, yet at the same time manages not to seem old-fashioned or stuffy. No two rooms are the same, which makes it fun to go back and select a different room for a totally new experience. The Hotel Belvedere is one of those quiet, relaxing places where it's easy to imagine you've gone back in time to a less-hectic era. The sitting room in the first floor is cozy and inviting, and the breakfast is absolutely wonderful--tea, English muffins, cheddar cheese, orange juice served in champagne glasses. Very nice. The only downside is that there is very, very limited parking. There are only about four parking spots behind the hotel--all of which are angled and a very tight fit between the house and what was probably once a garage (it's not in use now, at least not for guests). Any other cars have to park on the street. Miraculously, of all the times we've stayed there, we've only had to park on the street once, so I guess it works, somehow, but I'm never a fan of parking in really tight spaces between buildings (while I, personally, always try to be courteous to other cars around my own, not everyone does). If you're going to Kingston and you like something a bit more posh than run-of-the-mill motel chains, if you're looking for a great relaxing place to stay, then this is it. I'm never disappointed when I stay at the Hotel Belvedere.

The Rosemount Inn is a beautiful old house on a nice quiet street. It has well kept gardens with plenty of chairs to sit and enjoy some sun or some shade. Holly was kind and welcoming without being intrusive or cheesy (something I was a bit worried about coming to a BnB). She gave us maps of the neighborhood and explained how the Inn worked. We were shown the living room that always has tea and coffee in the mornings and iced coffee and homemade chocolate chip cookies and rice crispy squares in the afternoons (both delicious!). There are interesting antiques and old photos on the wall. We were then shown to our room (the John A Macdonald) which is on the ground floor but is still quiet as can be. The rooms are also furnished lovely antique furniture, the carpets are cushy, the beds VERY comfortable and each comes with it's own teddy bear! Our room came with a double and a single bed which is perfect for us as we're 2 best friends but could also be plenty big enough for a small family. Now for the breakfast....we were sat with two couples at the breakfast table, who we had very pleasant conversations with. We were served by Suzzy who manages the spa, another very warm, sweet woman. We started with a little square of dark chocolate with our orange juice and coffee/tea and then were treated to a slice of bacon, portabello, and chevre quiche with a homemade sourdough chive biscuit and a baby spinach salad with fresh fruits and a strawberry dressing. DELICIOUS!! Overall I am very pleasantly surprised with the attention to detail and the care that has been put into this place. Now we're off for massages and a pedicure which they do right here in the hotel!
