Maryland Food Bank thrives off of weekend volunteer hours for packers in their conveyor belt area to box canned goods and boxed foods as they'd otherwise have to bill these hours to payroll. I enjoyed myself and even got in a little cardio as the belt moved more and more foodstuffs through. I was in charge of canned veggies and boy were there lots of them. It was a good time and I can't wait to go back!

This organization offers a wide range of programs for children of all ages. Most importantly they have programs for kids beyond treatment. For example, they offer support programs ranging from tutoring, art therapy, nutrition, oncology parent support groups. Cool Kids offer so many opportunities to engage with their members but also for members to interacted with each other. Majority of the kids in the program are immunocompromised so they must limit the number of interactions they can have so they don't fall ill. Cool Kids offers virtual event as well as in person ones. I really love this organization! There is also enough space for kids to walk around and to play with puzzles and toys. I noticed a play area with hoola hoops etc, which is a nice addition for bigger kids. We will add this place to our monthly rotation.

This is a great place! I had just turned 33 when I found out I had breast cancer in 2014. I was…read moremarried, with a 3 and 4 year old. No place would help us. As much $ as we had donated in the past to the cancer society they turned their backs on us and would offer no help. I found out about H.O.P.E. and they jumped in to help us. They gave me free hats, a wig, a chemo blanket and other things that I could use. They let me use their books and I learned a lot. When my chemo stopped and I started to grow my hair back I was able to donate the items back so they could use it for other people who need it. We still keep in touch with HOPE and they will always be part of our family. They are true blessing!

The place has lots of stuff so it can be slightly unorganized when they are moving stuff around, but generally very clean and organized. The employees are nice if you treat them well.
