Three Bags Full has been my favorite place to have brunch whenever I am in Abbotsford! This cafe is anything but fancy - moody, rustic decor with a quirky layout, but somehow I like the weirdness of this place :P. Three Bags Full is known for their all-day brunch and eclectic take on modern Australian classic. And no matter weekdays or weekend, this cafe is always packed! But if you are in a rush, they also have cute cookies and desserts for sale at the front counter. Came here on a weekday morning, my brother and I ordered and shared: * Ricotta Pancake: playful with the presentation involving mixed of ingredients: passionfruit curd, lemon balm, strawberries, vanilla mascarpone, raspberry sherbert & pistachio. Despite all the fancy ingredients used in this dish, I wasn't impressed, mainly due to the mushy texture of the pancake, added to the cheese. It can get overwhelming. * Three Bags Benedict: This performed a bit better than the previous. Poached eggs on a truffled rosti with green hollandaise, apple cider ham hock & herb - Almost crazy with the presentation, but it was quite delicious. * Crispy Pork Belly Burger: Served on brioche, crispy slab of pork belly dressed with saffron aoili, jalapeño pesto and black jack cheese. Absolutely the best burger I've had in quite some time!! I like the crunchy texture that meets with super tender meat. It slowly melts in my mouth. In all, we always have an enjoyable brunch at Three Bags Full, the food and coffee are undisputedly pleasing. The pricing was a little on a high side with each cost about $18-22 and the portions was not that big either. The service on the other hand, was gracious and accommodating. Cheers to another wonderful find to spend your afternoon :).

Amazing food and coffee along with wonderful service that is both friendly and efficient. I came in yesterday for my first Aussie latte since moving to the US three years ago and it was so good that I teared up. It's Good Friday today and the place is PACKED but everyone is still smiling and chatty but also getting folks on the waiting list seated in less time than estimated. This place is great.

Wow Just WOW I usually don't review places after I've been there just one time, but I'm keen to make an exception for this one. Went there for a birthday party 4 to 6pm. The place is clean and tidy, with room enough to easily maneuver a pram around. Ordered drinks and food. About drinks, they offer a broad range of them and probably the cheapest (but still great) Spriz I was able to find in Melbourne - and given I was born in Venice and there Spriz are 2€/pint, this is particularly relevant to me. But the food... OMG the food! Ordered calamari, quesadillas, chips and croquette. Each and every bite of all four plates just took me to heaven!!! I am most definitely going to come back to this place and try their brunch menu as well!

No signage so you have to know you're going to the old hat factory. It's actually very charming inside and the staff is very warm and friendly. I had the big breakfast and it was excellent. One of the men had the French toast which is a foodies delight! We all had to share a bite and it was phenomenal. The pancakes were also shared with poached apples and it too was a foodies delight. The chorizo and eggs from hell, we're not really that spicy and the gentleman that ordered those had to ask for two additional hot sauce. But then again he is from California and likes it spicy. One gentleman ordered eggs Benedict and they were brought out from the kitchen cold. He brought it to the waitresses attention and the meal was replaced. Overall a good experience and I would definitely return.

Yum! Cool location, easy parking and lovely interior... and of course, excellent food. Coffee is served quickly and the breakfasts are well plated. I was most impressed with the french toast! It was surprisingly light and fluffy and very tasty. Not overly buttery, but a subtle saltiness was a perfect complement to the sweetness of the fruit. I am most certainly coming back for more!

Came to Three Bags Full on a perfect Melbourne sunny Saturday afternoon to meet a friend. The vibe was very energetic and the place was pretty much full outside and luckily some spare spots inside. Staff were very attentive and my Soy latte was perfect. My eggs Benedict with extra bacon was tasty with a luscious Benedict sauce. Lots of spunky people and (here I go again...) EYE CANDY! The only unruly part of my experience was trying to operate the female/disabled toilet door! It is electronically operated and many ladies were having problems manoeuvring it. All in all, a lovely Saturday lunch was had. You should try Three Bags Full. Oh & I grabbed a flourless chocolate cupcake on my way out, scrummy my yelp chummy's!

I have not been to 3 bags for a while, as I found the meals to be a little heavy for my liking. Today was an exception to that. I started the morning with a coffee (long black with a little cold milk). The coffee was prompt and delicious, as we have come to expect from even McDonalds it seems these days. There is just no excuse for a poor coffee, and none was needed. For breakfast I had Green Eggs and Ham. Aside from bringing up a multitude of childhood memories, and an onslaught of Dr. Suess jokes, the meal was delicious. It was accompanied by salted feeta and some peas in there for good measure. The portion size was well endowed, but was light enough to enjoy almost entirely. (I had to share with others on the table) I will say that after this meal, I will begin to head back to Three Bags Full on occasion. It was a very busy morning for them, I only waited 3 mins for a table of 4, but soon after I was seated, the lkine started to gather up the road.

Sunday morning brunch this week was at three bags full located in an old looking almost post office like or heritage building. Very inconspicuous. What gives it away are obviously tables and chairs with patrons drinking coffee. Once you enter, you see how large it is with two entrances partitioned by a partial wall. Baristas appear to be making coffee on both sides and I believe you can pay your bill and buy little raw vegan snacks such as cake slices or bliss balls from the counter on both sides too. The place was buzzing when we arrived and though we were told a fifteen minute wait when we arrived at 10.15, I didn't have to wait more than five minutes. We were initially seated on a long table as we were a group of three but one friend overslept and didn't show up so we were later moved to a smaller table after having made our coffee and food orders. This resulted in some confusion with three waiters asking us if we wanted to order food and coffee. I have a feeling this also delayed the arrival of our coffees and food. My friend ordered a cold brew. I ordered a skim cap extra hot with their own house blend. I think its called mister blazer. Can't remember and after drinking the coffee I would like to forget it. The prices for coffee are not on the menu but white coffees cost 3.90 and only come in one size. No mugs of coffee on a cold wintry day. Negative. :( Both our coffees tasted acidic, bitter and sour. I had to return mine because it left a foul taste in my mouth. The waitress was nice enough to replace my coffee it wasn't extra hot tasted slightly creamy but was still awful. Don't think I like their blend. We ordered the spicy chorizo with grilled polenta and the haloumi pide. The spicy chorizo was well salted and has a nice kick to it. The grilled polenta was nice and buttery/oily and delicious. The haloumi pide was disappointing I was expecting a Turkish style pide - so folded pizza with stuffed haloumi, grilled zucchini, tomato slices, pesto and avocado. What we got was dry floury ciabatta bread with two large slabs of haloumi grilled zucchini tomato slices guacamole. Very bland and very disappointing. We barely touched it. Other than that - the cafe has an expansive menu with lots of interesting options such as savoury French toast, brat pide, salads, etc. There's a variety of coffee blends you can choose from. Perhaps a tasting might help you decide. Fresh juices and smoothies as well.

Well established in Melbourne's elite brunch circle is Three Bags. Offering the usual options of brunch awesomeness that those familiar with Liar, Liar, Apte and Proud Mary would be used to. Try the twice baked French toast for a dish to talk about. Continue the superlatives whilst you finish your big breakfast. Yum! The usual brunch atmosphere rounds this gem out - shared tables and funky, yet functional decor. Do I need to mention the coffee rocks?

Where are Abbotsford locals on a Sunday morning? Why Three Bags Full of course. Located on a corner block this warehouse looks nondescript at first glance, but the yellow tables and queues hint at the joy that is this well known cafe. Arrive after 9am on a weekend and expect to wait a while....it is completely worth even the longest wait. The cafe has an industrial, artistic vibe, think street sign covered stools and bright yellow pepper grinders, fresh flowers and metal furnishings. Expect to be seated at the communal table, with other diners or propped pretty much anywhere there is a seat. Despite the chaos and bustle service is friendly and fast. They take their coffee seriously here. Five Senses provide them with flawlessly roasted beans from all over the world which they brew on site, which results in a rich aroma and strong and delicious coffee. It stands out, and in Melbourne's world class coffee environment, that is not to be taken lightly. The food is inspired. Breakfast classics rub noses with inspired sweet treats. The blackened ginger bread is different and dangerously addictive and the ricotta hot cakes are delicious and surprisingly filling. The big breakfast does as advertised and the feta scramble is sooo good. But really, anything off the menu is fantastic, so order with the knowledge that you will be back again anyway! The apple, pear, lime and mint juice may be expensive ($6 a glass) but it is fresh, delicious and filling. It makes you feel healthy, which is no mean feat after a huge breakfast! Get to Three Bags Full as soon as you dare. You will be back to thank me!

    Wood panelling, secret weakness
    Jack M.

Few things shine a light on Melboune like the feeling at a cafe on a Sunday - and it sounds a little contrived but it's true. The easiness of brunch, a convivial air of tables 'rhubarbing' in unison, it's buzzing, engaged in action. I like Three Bags Full for these reasons, and I love it for the principle of simplicity it holds itself to. Breakfast is all variations on the egg/bacon/sides theme, and the corn fritters are top shelf. White beans are mild and smokey (add an egg, or bacon, or both); the coffee is proper. Best described as a 'cherubian': a little fat bottomed blend, wispy haired créma, fleeting, kinda cross-eyed. Buy some of the Granola, it's amazing. The wood panelling behind the machine is my favourite fixture.

I came for breakfast, but it appears they've got a few beers on tap and a bar so I am keen to check out their evening offerings. For breakfast I was torn between their 'Yeusli' (Organic puffed quinoa, chia seeds, activated buckwheat, figs, goji berries, pomegranate seeds, coconut flakes, almonds, currents, raw cinnamon, your choice of milk on the side) and one of their incredible looking smoothies. I opted for the Yeusli and had no regrets. Delicious, super-charged with raw food goodness and a reasonably-sized, filling portion. No overload of oats and yoghurt like most cafe muesli offerings. Normally I don't give 5 stars if the coffee isn't amazing, but I loved the different food offering and concept enough to bump it back up. Coffee is totally fine but the black coffee is not amazing. If you're a latte drinker you probably won't notice at all and there's the bonus of being able to choose different milks if you're not into soy or lactose. The staff were friendly and accommodating, all menu items were well priced and can feed you for $15 or less. Winner.

But the one of the biggest lessons I learned was that Australia's coffee game is on a whole. 'nother. level. Regardless of where I went to eat or just chill, the establishment would have a ~$6000 espresso machine ready to go. Aunty Peg's, however, was the only place that I saw espresso machines without steam wands. My cousin, Jeremy, told me that they specialize in coffee in it's purest form, and thus, would never need steam wands (since they're never steaming milk). Jeremy and I are both fond of filter coffee, so we both decided to get a flight of V60s. This was a terrible idea. We didn't realized that that meant we would both have to drink ~800 mL of coffee each. Caffeine doesn't really do anything to me, but Jeremy was starting to get jittery by the end of the flight. If you're coming here with someone else, share the flight. However, if you're getting a flight of espresso, then yeah, it would make perfect sense to have your own. The flight included three different types of coffee each processed a different way. We tried a single origin, a honey processed single origin, and the gesha. I wish they offered the honey processed coffee for purchase, because that one was my favorite. It was so smooth and tasted like mangoes. The gesha reminded me of an Earl Grey tea, which was a weird since it's, you know, coffee. Regardless, all three of the coffees were delicious. The staff at Aunty Peg's was great too. The barista was laser focused while making the drinks. Once he finished making our flight, he was super chill and fun to talk to. I had a great time here. Everything about Aunty Peg's is what I want to see more of in Oklahoma city. I'm especially glad that I bought some coffee to take home. Try the Humbler, it tastes fantastic!

Many months in the making, the rumour mill has been rife with what was going on at their Collingwood site. Finally it is open, presenting itself in the form of a roastery, cafe, shop, warehouse and training centre. From the moment of walking in the front door the warehouse nature of the venue is apparent with large open spaces. Located directly in front of the door is the front counter with a delicious selection of pastries and cakes, freshly baked upstairs. Next to the counter are the large, ornate, dresser-style shop shelves with a vast array of brewing equipment, beans, merchandise and books for sale. The coffee bar is the centrepiece with a sweeping array of custom single group heads, grinders, filter brewing equipment and what appear to be beer taps. But they're not beer taps in the sense that they pour beer. Pioneering a new technique of cold brew coffee, a local Geelong-based brewery has been enlisted to brew coffee in cold water which is then kegged and poured on tap with the help of some nitrogen. Served in a beer glass to complete the experience, it almost similar to Guinness in body. A delicious apple and raspberry tea cake matched surprisingly well. It should also be noted that this is a black coffee-only cafe, there is no milk available. This has been done to better highlight the qualities of the many coffee beans on offer. Next to the bar are a number of benches with demo brewing equipment for prospective customers to try out with an endless supply of beans. The stars of the show, the roasting machines, are visible further back in the warehouse. It is clear that Aunty Peg's is all about bringing quality coffee and its origins and various brewing techniques closer to the general public. A must visit for anyone interested more in coffee or just to taste some good coffee and tasty cakes and pastries. But above all else, visit for the cold brew.
