WOW wish I looked here before! I spent a few hours, all excited about getting "new" shirts for summer. I have purchased better named products, pre owned and mostly have had success on POSH. I selected 6 shirts, my size and my picky expectations. I was happy when I used my first coupon and received 50% off. I spent a bit over $80. I waited, a day or two or three ... Nothing other than a we received you order email, Wahoo. Today I was like where is my stuff? Tracking? Every item I spent hours searching for cancelled. They did refund me, but zero notice whatsoever. I was perplexed and annoyed. I wrote to CS they said it appeared that I had "multiple accounts". They accused me of misusing coupon codes? Hands ladies .. who has more than one email address? ME...who sometimes takes advantage of Apple hiding your email so you dont get spammed to death? ME...I have one shipping address. They insulted me, cancelled my order, didnt communicate with me and for a really stupid reason. They should be seeking shipping addresses if people are reusing coupon codes. This was not my intent. So after all that work I emailed CS. I scrambled to see if I could find those shirts...they sold half of them in a matter of hours. How insulting! I went back, I placed another order to not lose all my effort. They killed my coupon code. Meanwhile I have a bag as I was going to resell through them. I love ThredUp and the thrill of finding amazing bargains, like Coach boots that retail for $800 for $60! Authentic and gorgeous! Kate Spade New York pumps for $375 for $35! Now, time for the bad. I sold my very expensive Torrid clothing and made $75.00. Unfortunately, I have never received the payment option I chose: a $75 Torrid gift card. That was nine months ago, and still no Torrid gift card for $75. Customer service is not great. My experience with ThredUp has been mainly positive. However, their payment to you after your items sell is a joke. Now, when my items sell, I choose the "account credit" option; it seems to be the only way you get your sales earnings. read more

Do NOT send your clothes and shoes in to this place. List it yourself on FaceBook Marketplace or some other place, even if it's for a super low price. Read the reviews on TrustPilot, here, etc. ThredUp (online) takes a month or more to go through your stuff, then list a tiny percentage of the stuff, you get $1 for something worth $40 IF it sells in 40 days. They try to make you buy a $35 "premium" seller membership so your stuff has 90 days to sell, but don't do it. It's just another rip-off. They tell you they'll send back the stuff they don't post, but that's a lie. Plus it costs $15 (but they never send the stuff.) And don't buy from here, either. The photos are awful, the measurements are wrong, and the return window keeps shrinking without warning. Sell person-to-person or donate. SO disappointed. read more

I would never send my clothes to ThredUp again. It takes a lot of time with cleaning, sending, dealing with lots of communication/emails, having to buy back your clothes if you want them returned. The amount you receive for each item is so miniscule, that all the effort and time is definitely NOT worth it! In the end, it is much better to donate your clothes for the tax benefits than be insulted by the tiny, tiny amount they give you (in some cases only a few cents). Many of my items were new in the package or with their tags or used 1x and many items were listed and sold (some of them worth $70 new); and out of the 4 huge, stuffed bags I sent them, I made around $20. If there was a zero rating this would be a good company to start it with. This is as bogus of a company there is. First they are so behind on their in takes they are just getting to July. What the heck? I inquired about my expensive items I shipped to them in September and after they explained they're behind they offered me a $40 credit. Woo hoo, right? Ha. Ha. I shop online consignment shops for "new with tags" and found three awesome items within that category. Bitchin! Boom used my credit and threw down $80 more for these items. They arrived today. One item had the original tags on the inside of the worn sweater. Ewwww. Second item - had a garage sale tag on it (not the manufacturer tag or even the store tag) and it was old, faded, washed several times (like they didn't follow the proper washing instructions) and it was misshapen. Third item also had a garage sale tag on it but I kept it cuz it's adorable. My point is these items are not NEW WITH TAGS! They are old, worn, used items with generic price tags on them from garage sale or whatever. I just sent the below to multiple offices and senior leadership addresses in the company, I got an autoreply from the thredUP media address with a link to customer support. That link has a pop up saying that they will respond in 13 (THIRTEEN!) business days; sadly they haven't gotten back to me in 62. The pop up says it all, this company is a joke. Hello-- I thought I would try one last time here. I am troubled by the lack of follow up and as such plan to use your service one final time at some point merely to use a credit I have (the order where 2 of 3 items received were not the size listed on your site). After that, I will not be back. As noted, I was excited about trying thredUP, but as I have now had problems with 3 of 3 orders and such difficulty reaching anyone on the last (5 unanswered emails), I realize thredUP is not for me. I have had good luck with Poshmark and will tell others thinking of dabbling in this segment of online fashion retail in candid terms my difficulties and frustrations with thredUP. Simply put, it seems to be a unique, but poorly executed concept. What's your height and jeans and some other tops with the tag still on them they said they got my stuff listed and I can't find my stuff on there and when I go into cruel jeans, they said they don't have any. NEVER USE THIS SERVICE! Where do I even start? First of all, their bags and labels have been on hold for almost a year. If you are 'lucky' enough to still have one and you send your stuff in, it'll take close to a year to be processed. When it's finally processed, you will receive pennies for your items. I'm actually being literal here. A Loft shirt might get you .$75. Obviously, they keep the vast majority of the profit and they offer countless sales so buyers will discount your items even more. Then, there's always the chance that they will lose your entire bag. This happened to me and they decided to take the average value of my previous bags and offer that to me as a 'settlement.' Finally, I sent in two high-end, luxury items. I waited for MONTHS for the bag to be processed and then I noticed those items were not listed for sale. When I reached out to them they claimed they couldn't confirm authenticity. Ummm...how about asking me for a receipt? Instead, they 'discarded' the items. So I'm now out close to a thousand dollars consignment value and some employee or Salvation Army shopper is walking around in Gucci heels and a LV purse. I've emailed multiple times begging for my items back and they won't respond. I just get a stupid automated message indicating there's a waitlist for responses. I'm sick over the whole situation and will NEVER use them again. Honestly, I wouldn't consign a used Q-Tip with these people. Horrible service, horrible customer service, horrible people. read more

I sent 25 items to ThredUp in Dec 2023. it took a month for them to go through the bag. I tried to IM and email and received vague IM responses and zero email response.I was told on the one IM that only 1 item was sold and that I needed to request the return of my items by 2/17. I have been trying to do so to no avail. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. Terrible customer service, save your time and donate to a women's shelter or your local church. BWARE read more

ThredUp send me a label. I put it on a box and sent my items that I was selling to them. Yet, it never made it to them since Oct. 16, 2019 and ThredUp has only responded to my emails by saying (a generic email) that my items are on there way. I keep responding back no, I was selling my items to you guys. Unfortunately, there is no Customer Service phone number. FedEx wont help me because they said ThredUp has to put in the claim. I would give zero stars if possible. There is absolutely NO WAY to actually speak to a human about anything you have an issue with. ThredUp customer service is non-existent which is pretty shady. They don't respond to any of the channels they claim are "the best ways to connect." I can't have my package held or rerouted through FedEx because "only the shipper" can make those requests, so I'm out over $100 and I won't receive the product because it's going to an old address where the people are going to steal the delivery rather than send it back. I ordered clothes from ThredUp. Read their return policy before I ordered. It seemed pretty straight forward. Received clothes, didn't fit, went to website to process return. They charge $8.99 is you want your credit card reimbursed. I went back to the return policy to double check what it said, no mention of this. Then I hit the FAQ's button and there it was. I reached out to them and suggested they put this information in their return policy, not hidden under FAQ's. Not a fan!!! read more

A good place to buy high-quality clothes in excellent condition, but not a good place to sell. All of the boasts on their website about how much water and resources saved by buying used clothes are true for donating to Goodwill also and Goodwill donations can be taken off your taxes. Sent in 3 different clean out bags for consignment. The told me the bags would be processed in 8 weeks, but they took 16. When I contact customer service, which is almost impossible to find on their website, all I got was a generic email stating "there's nothing we can do". I could have sold the items elsewhere if I had known it would take 16+ weeks to process. I also sent in a very expensive pair of Ferragamo italian shoes which they did not accept despite being in new condition, and they returned them to me damaged! My new shoes are now trash. They packaged them very poorly without even any bubble wrap or a box (which is how I sent them in). They put them in a plastic envelope with no padding and the shoes are now ruined. Customer service is totally useless. What a horrible company with no regard for their customers at all. I would never use this company again and at least when I drop items off at goodwill I get a tax receipt. Thred up does no such thing so its basically a waste of time and money. I am a regular customer of Thredup and normally value my customer experience. However, following the onset of COVID, I chose to convert a consignment bag to a donation to benefit Feeding America, assuming that the proceeds of the sale of my items would go to Feeding America. I just learned that, instead, Thredup donates just $5 to Feeding America and KEEPS the remaining profits. That is inexcusable. I attempted to convert my bag back to consignment and planned to donate the proceeds myself. I was told that was not possible. I want to leave zero stars. I used to be a good customer. However, in Summer 2021 I ordered some merchandise that was sub-par. I tried to return it and was told it was too late to do so (it wasn't). I was stuck with almost $75 of worthless goods. I decided to quit them. I was lured back in February, ordered two garments, and now my shipment is hideously late and lost. I can't contact TU to get help. Whether or not my goods are eventually located, I am FINISHED with this company. They SUCK, SUCK, SUCK. My biggest complaint (other than this recent debacle) is their "fabric composition/measurements not available" excuse in their descriptions. That is their JOB. You can't accomplish this simple task? That's a basic part of your bottom line as a resale company. How else is a customer supposed to make an informed purchase?
