I have been terrified of the dentist for some time. Kind of like the car dealership, you have a go-between who talks billing and insurance with you away from the nurse and dentist. It's discrete and comfortable without pressure. My nurse (dental hygienist) was Susan? Or Sandy? God she was an angel. She was so kind to me breaking down and upset and in pain. She made me feel so comfortable talking about stuff and offering anything I might need. My dentist was Dr Taylor who was incredibly knowledgeable and proficient. I got out what needed to come out and I even scheduled an appointment for regular maintenance later this month. I was made comfortable to be there, whether I needed nitrous or a valium, either are available. And they make sure you are physically comfortable with numbing. Mentally comfortable is hard, but true kindness shines through in the folks who work there. I got a kids "reward" (shark plushie) to hold while I had my procedure. When I left I got a "goodie bag" with full instructions on what I had done, extra gauze, and an emergency card. It's a little hinky getting in with the road construction on witchduck road. But soon as your turn on Grayson, by the church, it's there. There's an employee entrance on the witchduck side and another saying Ste 200 on the side, even though the dentist is Ste 100, this is the door you go in.

I originally came in many years ago and lets just say I didn't have the "greatest" checkup. They could've thrown many different options ($$) but they chose to do the most effective method per money value. After I got through that entire ordeal they told me the proper methods to keeping my teeth clean (and my particular issues). Since then, I just follow the instructions they gave me and continually have awesome checkups. Overall, it's just nice knowing that there's a practice out there that gives honest opinions on what to do and respects customers' budgets and lifestyles. I used to love coming to the dentist (we all have our quirks, people!), until I had a bad experience at our prior dentist. I decided to give Smile By Design a go, and I love it (although I can't say I LOVE getting dental work done- I'm now a normal person that dreads the dentist). I've had filling removal & re-fills done, and I expressed my fear & anxiety to Dr. Santos, and she was so calm and patient with me during the entire procedure. That first experience I had with her made me feel totally comfortable and I trust her completely with my teeth. I think they do offer a lot of options, and some people are put off by that, but I'm gonna tell you- I bought that expensive Bluetooth toothbrush they offered me, and while the Bluetooth part is whatever (IMHO), my teeth have never felt better and my hygienist notices a difference in my teeth (which I totally believe!). My teeth feel like I just got a cleaning every single time I brush with it (which is nightly). Dr. Santos also suggested I get a soft night guard, and while my insurance doesn't cover that, I saved my pennies and got fitted for it. In summary, I do feel as though this dentistry has my teeth in their best interest, and I would recommend anyone going here! If you've had bad experiences at the dentist, be honest with them about it and I think they'll baby you like they baby me. We need it!

Konikoff, you need to do better. This is not how you treat people who have supported your business for years. I'll find another dentist. That's not a problem. What is a problem is that a longtime patient can have an appointment cancelled, receive a reminder to show up anyway, wait 26 minutes, and then be told they need to reschedule--with apparently no one taking responsibility for it.

I have several dental issues that need attention, including a crown adjustment. During the discussion, I was informed that the dentist would charge me the full amount for adjusting my crown, as if it were a new one. I was told the dentist would need to remove my crown. You do not need to remove a crown to do an adjustment. A new crown is 1,500- 2,000 dollars so that amount for an adjustment is outrageous!!! They highly recommended that I visit the dentist who had placed the crown on me. This was the first time I had ever heard such a recommendation. I believe that whoever scheduled the appointments should have informed me or the office well in advance, at least more than two days before the appointment.

Please know that my scrutiny is not to be mean but to make sure I'm providing an honest and well written review. This establishment is pretty amazing--that is an understatement actually. We arrived the morning on time for a 9am appointment. My son was brought back promptly and the pre surgery set up began immediately. My son (who was the patient) stated that doctor and the tech were incredibly nice, professional and treated him with patience. While I sat in the lobby the tech Heather came out, said everything is all set and ready to go, then went back to the room. That small peace of mind was reassuring. While waiting the hour it took for the 4 wisdom teeth extraction I drank coffee provided in the lobby Keurig. The only downfall and it is a slight one, is that I carried my coffee trash with me because I could not find a trash can, even a small one. My son asked to keep his teeth and he was able to keep the ones that did not break in the extraction process. When the removal was over I was brought back to the recovery room and Heather did a fantastic job going over the procedures for the next couple days. I won't lie I didn't remember a lot because there was just so many dos, don'ts, make sure you don't forget, sleep this way, don't sleep that way etc. When my son stood up Heather had him grab her arm and she patiently waited for him to get all the way up, had him take a deep breath and then started walking slowly. My son held onto Heathers arm as she held onto the loop of his pants (with his permission of course) and they slooooowly walked to the car. When they got outside Heather asked my son to stand for a moment and take a deep breath in to make sure he was able to acclimate to the outside and still being a little weird from anesthesia. Heather walked him all the way to the car, she is absolutely amazing and I mean that 107%! That evening the office called to check on my son before they closed. The office was closed on Wednesday and when they reopened on Thursday I called with questions. The staff was so sweet answering the pieces of info I forgot from the day of the removal. A couple days go by and I have more questions and a concern on Friday. An appt was made for my son to come and see the doctor for a quick check up, he was reassured that he was healing well and all looked good. One week post surgery, I called with another slight concern, Heather answered and we both laughed because I was calling AGAIN however she was incredibly kind with her answers. I will recommend this oral surgeon and staff again and again and again. Don't take my word for it, get a consult yourself when you are in need.

I was very nervous going in but the procedure was quick they accommodated scheduling, reassured me throughout the process and even followed up and helped through the recovery process. Assistant Corra and Tracy at the front were both very caring and made the experience much easier and less stressful. 10/10
