I always stop there when returning to Celebration from Palm Harbor. The store is clean, gas is reasonable and staff is friendly!

Stopped in for gas. Plenty of pumps available abs location is easy entrance from Hillsborough Ave. Pump area is well lighted and cleaner then some others around the area. Didn't go inside but saw from the outside that they have food available and with some good deals on some items. Gas prices were on par with other stations. read more

It's not Wawa's, but its still a great place to make a quick pit stop for snacks, gas, or whatever when I have to get something late night. They actually sell alot of products that Wawas doesn't, which makes me pick them instead alot of times such as my meal size Fit Crunch bars and some specialty seasonal candy and other snacks. They're always kept clean and well stocked up on product, so it's nice that even at 2 am, they're reliable when im needing to refuel. I have they're rewards program, which does give you alot of pretty good deals on my snack and drink, so it's actually worthwhile to enroll in it. They also have their own soft serve bar and have fresh donuts so there's a decent variety of things you can get here. I also like how they have gloves offered at the gas pumps for more COVID 19 prevention measures that help keep us safe during these troubling times. So when it comes to whether I pick Thornton's or Wawas, it all depends on what I'm in the mood for. read more

In a sea of outdated, small, and sketchy gas stations along this strip of Hillsborough, this bright, shiny and new Thornton's stands out like a lighthouse on a stormy night. If it wasn't for friends checking in at these places, I probably wouldn't even know they existed, and that would have been a travesty. This place is sparkling clean, has great gas prices, and is actually accessible! None of this trying to take a crazy turn off of a busy street into a parking lot that's 3 feet wide, has gas covers that stick out 8" above the grade, and one car can block all 4 pumps. The employees here are amazing. It's like the Publix version of gas stations. One lonely cashier gets slammed? All her homies appear from no where to open additional registers and get everyone out surprisingly fast. I've seen them discuss the fastest way to get somewhere for a lost motorist (reckon there's someone in 2015 without a navigation system and a smart phone), and give cost-saving suggestions such as "you know if you get 3 of those, they're on special and you'll pay less than what you're paying for 2." That gets me to the rewards program. I avoid those little cluttering, peeling, and never aligning things all these buinsess are trying to shove onto my keychain. Their programs are either ridiculously specific, require logging into a website to print coupons, or have thresholds you will never meet unless you shop there daily. Not here. I get emails on things that I actually find relevant and can just use my phone number at the pump or on a keypad inside. Cha-ching and no fob required. read more

I live across the street.. friday and Saturday night, It's ridiculous, try sleeping and at midnight it's a full blown concert with 20 Honda civics all partying at thortons for an hour sometimes more. Cops will literally come every weekend to scare all of them away with their fart cans trying to leave the scene beforehand.... i can't wait to move out of my apartment Bc of THIS establishment. read more

This property is completely covered with trash and litter. Had to walk my dog as I was filling gas, and it is disgusting. The owners of this establishment should be ashamed of themselves. Every inch of the exterior littered with trash. Thorntons you are better than this. Clean it up. read more

I don't have one negative thing to say about this Thornton's location, which is rare for ANY gas station. This location is always clean. The exterior is well kept and I've never seen junk all over the floors, nor an overflowing trash cans. The food bar is always well-kept and stocked as well as the to-go sandwiches/wraps and produce. If you don't or can't eat the typical gas station food, know that they stay stocked with apples, bananas, veggie chips, smoothie juices and salads too. The employees are always welcoming. Are all gas stations created equal? Obviously not, as gas prices reflect some major differences in price. I have to say I was pleases Thorntons pumps worked very well, which is rare at most gas stations in Tampa. They were very busy, but I was able to snag a spot and fill up. I've been to this location dozens of times and I've typically had a consistently good experience. The staff has had a few bad apples over the last couple of years that I've been coming here, but I've never really had an overly bad experience. The store is typically clean, and they usually have everything in stock. The downside with this location is the fact that it can get incredibly busy both at the pumps and inside. Once the line inside starts to build, they will usually page a few other people to come out from the back and work the registers. With all three registers going, the line goes away really fast. This location is solid and I can say that based on my experiences of going there nearly every week (sometimes multiple times a week) for three years. read more

This location is convenient to my driving pattern and I have frequented this location 5-6 times a week for over 3 years. They have very solid employees that are very nice and quick to help each other out. This tells me they have decent management. The owner of this location has checked out. The awning has been damaged for over a year, the store is looking more worn down and today again the lottery machine was down. This is at least the 5th time in the last 2 months. Awful, I guess I will need to adjust my traffic route and find a new store. What a shame. Poor ownership strikes again. read more

The gas station itself is nice. They have a lot of snacks and goodies which is why I usually go here. Prices are good and reasonable but what kills me about this place is the people who work there. I've had many times where I go in and the cashier is rude or is unpleasant. My husband and I went in on a late night to get icecream, some beer and cigarettes. After browsing the icecream and getting the beer we went to the counter and the cashier asked if we had our ID's, we both gave them to her and as she handed our ID's back to us she asked us if we were driving then immediately refused to sell us anything because "we looked drunk". But definitely felt like racism played a little role in it.... will definitely be driving an extra few minutes to Wawa around the corner from now on read more

Every gas and store purchase adds points to your account, which turns into freebie offers at the store and special discounts on gas purchases. I go in the morning and get coffee a few times a week and the tall dude that works there always has a smile on his face and a good attitude...I feel like a dick now because I don't know his name but he's a good face to have to see in the morning. read more

So I think we all know that Thorntons is really just a poor man's version of WaWa. It turns out this particular location is even worse. I am a consistent patron of gas stations - either everyday or every other day is my typical behavior. I am a CEO of a local company and I have a staff that is dispatched to check in on our many program participants in the Tampa Bay Area. As one of the items I get when I go to the gas station is a cup of ice. I know you see people grabbing cups of ice all the time. The thing that makes me DIFFERENT is I bring my own cup. I began leasing office space down the street from this location and when I would stop in I would bring in my cup and grab some ice. Well one day I was stopped before leaving and told I had to pay. I showed them that I had brought my own cup and the only thing I'd gotten was ice. I actually probably wouldn't have been so irritated if I hadn't been told I would be charged 50 cents. 50 cents! really! for a cup of ice? I think we all know that when places charge for water or ice it is because you are paying for the cup. Well if someone brings their own cup.... should they be charged what someone without their own cup would be charged? I THINK NOT!!!! So I politely dumped out the ice. Needless to say I will never darken the doorstep of this gas station. There is a marathon less than two blocks away heading west and if you go another two blocks you'll run into a 7/11. AND if you're really looking to take care of your ice fix then you can head about 8 minutes north on Benjamin Road and you'll run into the Mecca of Ice making - WAWA. and unlike the jerks at this Thorntons you will NOT get charged for getting a cup of ice. I find it interesting that this Thorntons is so pressed regarding ice - honestly since WaWA popped up in the Tampa Bay Area there have been a lot of gas stations that have learned people will go out of their way to get to WaWa. And in doing so they will do what I do which is ride right past this location EVERY SINGLE day and going to WaWa. I wonder how many other people's business this Thornton's has driven away. If my car ran out of gas right at the corner, I would walk past this location to get to the marathon to get a gallon of gas for my car. ALL THRONTON'S ARE NOT THIS AWFUL but this one has made me decide I will not spend another dollar with them. All the other Thornton's can thank this Thornton's for that. read more

Everyone who has been working there for the past 2+ years have been polite and efficient, specifically the former store manager! Store was always clean, stocked, and smoothly run. However, Elaine has repeatedly been hostile and rude whenever requesting/examining an ID (that is valid, not expired, nor frayed, bent, or worn) from my partner. In fact she laughs when she sees his ID photo. She is openly mocking and cackling at someone who lost weight since the original photo (while still obviously being and appearing to be the same person.) If she were consistent with her inability to conduct a sale to him I might understand. Elaine, however, decides when his ID is valid and when it isn't as she's accepted it as valid dozens of times previous to recent refusals (while maintaining her curt attitude always). Elaine then wouldn't give me the name of her direct superI believe she is the previous mentioned rude employee from another ID squabble. I've been coming to Thornton's 4+ days a week at this location and won't return so long as Elaine is manager. She makes customers and her employees miserable. It's evident on their faces when she's around. Rae and Zumarie are great! Always friendly and so quick! Update: evidently Elaine is no longer at this location. read more
