The cashier was counting cigarette packs and I stood there about 3 minutes waiting on him to finish. It was $7.99 for the tiny bottle of Nyquil, but I needed it so I got it anyway. The cashier rang it up at almost $11. I said that was wrong, the price said $7.99. He mumbled something I couldn't understand and just looked at me. I motioned to walk back to the aisle with me, and he did, and I showed him the price. He mumbled some more. I told him to just give me the right price and I'd be good. We went back to the register--I expected him to credit me a couple of bucks. He reached me back my $10 and took the Nyquil and walked away. I stood there a minute, then motioned to the Nyquil. He mumbled something else that was obviously negative, something about "you wanted a refund." I said no, I just wanted a credit of a couple of bucks to get the advertised price. He said whatever it rings up to IS the price. I left and bought a bigger bottle of Nyquil at the Thorton's for less money, and had a much nicer cashier. It's not the buck or two... it's the attitude that drove me away. If your employees aren't empowered to make purchases right, you must not trust them very much, and if you don't trust them, you shouldn't have them working for you.

    I came in to get some gas and oil today at 7:00pm. I walk up and put the oil on the counter, The…read moretwo young women behind the counter are talking to each other and on their phones. She scans my oil and I had to say excuse me to but into the conversation to order gas. She brings up the total, I scanned my card, put in my number, and it says approved. They are talking to each other the ENTIRE TIME. I walk out to begin putting everything in my car and the girl who checked me out comes outside saying "your card didn't go through." I told her it said accepted on my screen or I wouldn't have walked away, she says it did not go through on her screen. I grab my wallet and go back inside the speedway. I asked her to make sure that if I pay for this again it isn't going to double charge me, she assures me it is not. I pay for the gas and oil again, walk out to my car to begin fueling up and grab my phone. Sure enough, the $23 purchase has been removed from my bank account twice. at this point I am less than happy but I continue to keep my cool as I have this entire time. I walked back inside with my phone and show the girls that they indeed did charge me twice, she gets on the phone to her manager. She doesn't offer for the manager to speak to me, she simply hangs up and tells me that one of the purchases will go back on my card in 24 to 48 hours. on top of all of this, the girl never apologizes. Not once. this was clearly her mistake, I told her that it had been approved on my end and she was too busy talking to Her coworker to pay attention to what she was doing. This is not the first time I have been disappointed by the customer service at the speedway, but I promise you I will never be going back. I was actually surprised when I got on here and saw they had two stars, that's two more than they deserve but I guess you can't give less than one. If I don't get the money back they will be serious problems. But my main issue, other than the fact that the two employees there are literally completely ignoring their customers who are standing right in front of them trying to check out, Is the complete lack of an apology. She knew she screwed up, she knew this was her fault. I told her my card was approved and I'm not going to scan it again if it's going to charge me twice, it was her negligence that caused this to happen so to not even say I'm sorry afterward? Shameful

I love their soda, freezes, coffee, gas pumps, staff is always friendly snd the stores are generally clean. Their coffee station was in need of a cleaning as well as their freezie station but the bathrooms were clean and that's always a bonus in my opinion. Also it was warm in the bathrooms. This one was small and a little dirtier then normal but it still offered all our favorite things. Getting gas was actually easy and I didn't have to wait for a pump. It was hard to get in and out of though as it's located on a busy street. It's easier to go out to the light if you have to to turn left. All in all we came several times while on vacation. Mostly due to the proximity of where we were staying. Recommend speedways anywhere.
