This was my first time having to get any repairs done on my house that I couldn't fix myself. One of the companies got back to me and said I needed a contractor. I get online this morning searching for contractors, hoping I was going down the right path. I find several and reached out to them. Less than 2 hours later Vince had already replied to get the ball rolling. I sent pictures of the damage and what I needed done. I didn't expect him to have any availability until next week, since it was the weekend and already late in the afternoon at this point. Vince called me up and said a storm was coming and if I was available he could come by and fix it, since he didn't want the rain to possibly cause any more damage. The amount of professionalism, efficiency and knowledge I received from Vince made me feel as though he actually cared. He explained what he was doing, the tools he was using, the behind the scenes on how construction crews put up siding, the spacing, and the measurements for it. Some companies would have just fixed it and not said anything leading you to wonder what was wrong with it to begin with. Vince made sure I understood, I almost feel like I can do contracting work now (probably just holding a ladder). The work was done quickly even though at that point had it taken longer than an hour I wouldn't have been mad. Overall Vince was a pleasure to work with, I'm grateful for his work, and expediency especially when he explained how his wife had to be hospitalized and maneuvering around that and work. I would definitely recommend him for any future home improvements!

Requested an estimate to install vinyl panels to finish off a screen porch ceiling. Received a call from a representative and we discussed the job. The representative said he fully understood what I wanted and set an appointment for the next day (Saturday) to come out to take measurements and provide a sample of the materials they would propose to use. I agreed to meet him at his schedule since I told him I would be home. He said he would call ahead as to when he would come. Waited all day Saturday with my phone nearby so as not to miss his call. Waited until close of normal business (5:00 PM) he never called and did not show up. No way I will give this company my business, wasted a whole Saturday without even getting a courtesy call.

What we thought would be simple, turned into a larger project but he took it on and got it done a lot quicker than we anticipated which was a very welcomed surprise. He handled the sub flooring, the ordering of the floor we wanted, installation and finishing it with baseboards. And all this was happening while still allowing me to work from home. I cannot recommend him enough. His quotes are very reasonable and he was very accommodating to our hectic schedules. We've already request two more quotes from him!

These included: repairing damaged drywall, rebuilding a frame and reinstalling white lattice around a rear patio deck, replacing a ceiling light fixture, replacing the cartridge in a shower faucet, and replacing two halogen bulbs in floodlight units up at the top of my roof line. Dave and his son showed up on time, completed all of the repairs quickly and efficiently, cleaned up afterwards, and charged what I considered to be a very fair and reasonable price for all of this work. I can recommend Dave Wolfe for handyman projects, as well as decks, bathrooms, and other construction work, with no reservations.

The home required extensive plaster repair. They were able to demo and skim coat de-laminated plaster walls to preserve the original look as well as repair cracked ceilings and walls for lasting results. They went as far as snaking the drains in the old house to improve toilet flushing and kitchen sink drainage. They were on time, the quality of their painting work was exceptional and unsupervised they left the job site clean and organized prior to the client's scheduled walk-through the following day. I would recommend them for future work.

He explained how they can finance the insurance deductible if needed. He also checked my gutters for damage. I was shown beautiful architectural shingles and various colors. I was shocked to learn there is a life time warranty and pro-rated if I sell my home. The crew showed up on time and covered all my bushes and plants from debris from old shingles, underlayment and nails AFTER they cleared the roof of snow. The crew was small to compare with the roofing crews quite a few neighbors had with their roof replacement. Dispite a small crew, they worked as one and in less than half the time spent by the other crews, they cleared the roof of snow, protected the shrubbery around the home, stripped the roof to the bare wood, layed new underlayment, and completely reshingled my roof, cut attic vents, cleared up the debris, cleared property of nails, and before packing up, they even replaced the shingles on the roof which protects my heat pump. Then they packed up, did a final inspection and left. I've left the company sign on my lawn because of how beautiful and better the home looks. I believe the quality and choice of shingles have increased the homes value. I live on the main street of my development and people continually stop while walking and while driving. They all admire the color, quality of work, the beauty of it and how fantastic the home looks with this new roof. This Company is well known by my Insurance Company's estimator and he commented on the honesty and quality work Blue Collar Restoration does and how he trusts their evaluation, estimates, quality work and superior personnel involved at all levels.

Our Kitchen Project: (Just Completed)…read more My wife and I had been wanting to have our kitchen remodeled for several months. When it finally came time to do it, we started going through the process of trying to find the right contractor for the project. We spent several weeks researching until we came across Yorklyn Construction. Once we met Ben, we felt like the search was over. The advice, detailed thought he put into our plans brought a sense of comfort to us. The quotes were fair and where we hoped they would be. Starting with Ben, our experience fanned out to the rest of folks working for Yorklyn. Tom, who managed our project, was absolutely in touch with our thoughts as the project transitioned from demo to the "rebuild". He did a better job of "detail nitpicking" than I could have. From the beginning they stated it clearly, "we want it done right for you." They certainly lived up to that and exceeded it. The carpentry work with the cabinets they constructed all the way down to the floor thresholds / transitions were perfect, and I mean perfect. I'm sure a lot of contractors hold similar standards, but where Yorklyn pulls ahead is with how they treat your property, residence and your family. You become a bit more than a customer. If you are looking at having some work done, I hope you give these folks a look. I'm sure you will end up where my wife and I are. (Incredibly happy customers!)

To Whom This May Concern:…read more Typically, we are not people that post reviews. Oh, if we really don't like something we have been known to speak up directly to the company. We have to have very strong feelings to post in a public forum. After all, saying something about a person's lively hood should not be taken lightly. Often people are quick to criticize and slow to praise. We would like to change that. We have a house that was in need of updates and repairs. We also where in desperate need of storage. We invited several companies to come by and tell us what they thought and to give us a bid. Two companies that came by and told us the project was too big for them and no bid the project. Finally, it came down to two companies from the area, Yorklyn Construction being one. Yorklyn shot straight with us. They told us the truth, not what they thought we wanted to hear. The bids came in pretty close but Yorklyn impressed us with their candor and professionalism which gave us confidence that once they agreed to something they would meet their commitments. We were told that the process would be long (several months) and that we would basically be living in a construction site. Like I stated, they shot straight with us and it was a big project. Side note, they did everything they could to minimize any discomfort and were respectful that this was our home. We did have hiccup's but Yorklyn's staff and the sub-contractors where great. In a project this size there are hundreds of small decisions, but I can honestly say that everyone involved looked out for our best interests. If they thought we were making a wrong choice, they spoke up. For example, we chose the color of grout for the shower in a showroom. The tile guy put in the tile but thought we made a mistake with the color of the grout. He didn't just go and let us make a mistake. Instead he spoke up and brought it to our attention. He and the project manager discussed it with us and made suggestions that we elected to follow and are happier for that decision. We had a similar experience with their painter. Trust me things look different in a sample catalog or a showroom than in your house. I also wanted to say that their carpenters are great and their cabinet guy is amazing, very skilled and exact, a true craftsman. Our cabinets are just wonderful. We can also tell you that on the rare occasion that we did express displeasure, they made it right and when a problem was our fault, they were fair. Several of the Yorklyn staff and sub-contractors feel like friends. We have very warm feelings for these people. We have grown to trust them. Not only would we recommend them, we will call upon them in the future when we need skilled professional trades people. Often in business "quality "is defined as meeting or exceeding a customer's expectations, in our book, Yorklyn's work and the people that make up this company are the definition of quality. Sincerely, Sandy and Garry Stewartstown, PA
