Avoid they don't deserve one star!!!!!
Car was failing to start in December and AA called out. Unable to fix but thought there was a problem with chip missing from the key.
Called Renault Dealer in Newbridge Upon Wye who advised me to call Thomas Motors.
On speaking with Thomas Motors they told me it would cost £185 for bypassing the immobiliser, including £20 for recovering my car to their workshop plus vat. Had a call after they looked over car, told it was nothing to do with the key but needed a new Ignition Coil. But key was worn and managed to fix that with no charge, said they'd fit part and free key for £150 all in.
Car started spluttering a month later. Had to fork out £150+ a month later to a genuine recovery company who gave receipts for parts fitted and old replaced parts. Namely an Ignition Coil pack plus Spark plugs, plus labour. After P0300 code appeared on diagnostic equipment they used. And I informed them a new Ignition Coil was fitted in December. Told this wasn't fitted as too much dirt and oil on that part.
Very disappointed with attitude of member of staff I spoke with at Thomas Motors. Changed original diagnosis and repair information he originally gave me when queried what they'd replaced. Stated he'd never said it was Ignition Coil but a coil in the steering lock, which they'd replaced from a scrap vehicle in their yard free and that the £150 was now for reprogramming the key. I have checked new casing on outside and only a new battery inside is new. He was adamant even though he'd also told my partner they were fitting a new Ignition Coil and giving a free key for £150 cash.
I have a young baby and children also travel in my car so safety is paramount. Thomas Motors were aware of this. I could easily have lost power and had another vehicle go into the back of me. I am disgusted with my treatment.
Never pay cash to any garage always get a receipt!!!
