We regret buying my engagement ring here. Not only was it undersized in spite of my telling the jeweler that my knuckles swell, but the custom setting was ruined when it had to be enlarged. The condescending attitudes at the store were not appreciated. For the money, we could have not only gotten a better and larger diamond elsewhere, but also had a more pleasant experience. Needless to say, the wedding rings were not made here. I rarely wear my engagement ring because it reminds me of the mistake of allowing my husband to buy it here. I have to share my recent experience regarding Thomas Jewelers in Sewickley and their in-house genius goldsmith...Brian Scott Smith. My husband bought me an estate ring many years ago...a very wide platinum band with an intricate delicate design of white and yellow diamonds...going around the entire ring. The sides are hand engraved as well. Well, after time my ring doesn't fit. I thought I would have to just sell it. But, then I found Thomas Jewelers in Sewickley and my ring was saved! Brian Scott Smith...their in-house goldsmith and custom designer came to the rescue. He had to enlarge the ring by a size and a quarter...adding diamonds...carving out the delicate vine design...and hand engraving the sides. You cannot tell that this estate ring has been enlarged at all. Brian Scott Smith is a genius!!! I am one happy customer!!! My rating for their care, repair and friendliness is 5 STARS. Their claim of buying or consigning for your jewelry is for this rating. I wanted to sell a 22" 10K gold mariner style necklace with heart and mini gold bar pendants. They offered a pittance. They advertise buying your gold jewelry outright or on consignment. What they do not tell you is they don't want 10k. They only offer scrap pricing and then, I assume, they sell for $$$$$$$. If you have any jewelry you want to try to sell to them, it needs to be 18 to 24K. Make this clearer on the website and with employees giving information, so people don't waste hours driving to find out. I called and asked ?'s and no one told me not to bother. read more

My family has used this jeweler for since the 80s...I will be passing the word to everyone I know how disrespected this shop treats people. Don't waste your time unless you like being talked down to. Went there to simply have my ring resized. was told it would be 6-7 weeks. That was totally fine with me. But at the end of the 6 weeks I was called and told my diamond was man made (I knew that and I'm happy with it. It was very much a choice) They made a big deal about the stone not being 'real' and they didn't even touch it to size it. They even made a point to tell me they had someone come and look at this 'fake ring' Not really sure why the stone being manmade is such a big deal when only having the (white gold) band being resized. They even asked for a copy of the papers that came with the diamond. Again what does one have to do with the other. typical Sewickley, if you aren't rich they treat you like shit. Stay far away from this jeweler. Such a disappointment. Hopefully nobody else has to deal with this horrible company. read more

The store has a variety of finds from new to vintage is and puts me in awe every time I stop by. I am like a fish surrounded by shiny lures becoming mesmerized and hooked with each visit! Then boom, the experience only gets better when you interact with the staff!!! Each and everyone is so professional, kind and helpful. My most recent service is the picture attached. In a creative moment and through on site discussion I decided to take rings I no longer wear, some having sentimental value (grandmothers ring), and redesign with a modern twist. Took my fiancé's engagement ring there to fix a loose stone and bent setting a while back. Guy told me to send her in to get sized to make sure it fits right. She goes in the next day and an older woman tell her don't worry she doesn't need to get sized so she comes home. Two weeks goes by and I call. They say she never came in to get sized. We go down to pick it up to take it somewhere else and they get belligerent with us telling her they don't even want to work on it anymore and said she was "dumb" for not insisting she needed sized the first time she went in. I'm not sure what they thought she came in for if it wasn't to get sized? Very upsetting. I live nearby and would rather support a local business than a chain but we went elsewhere and had it done in three days no problem. read more

Literally the worse experience ever. Asked for the jeweler to contact me to discuss new posts on my earrings and he never did. Then when I showed up to inquire what was happening, he had already done the work and not to my specifications. They said he must have been confused, but the work order clearly stated I was to be consulted. Also, when I picked them up just to be done with the whole experience, not only did he not put longer posts on, but they were the same size. I very much like give 5 stars because the people working at the jewelry are so kind and help me alot. Also I love so many item here, selection the best in the barrio. Only reason I not give 5 stars is speak Spanish nobody in this place, but I am use to it so not a big problem. I buy 2 watch and 1 necklace for my family and I am happy with prices and quality. It is more important to me that workers are so kind here. One young man who I think might be boss explains everyting to me and no rush.
