I think I saw every type of doctor/health practitioner under the sun and no one was able to give me relief. Dr. Reuben, however, diagnosed my issue within minutes and I was pain free within two weeks (probably less)! I just need to re-balance the muscles surrounding my knee - which simply took the right physical therapy/exercises. I highly recommend Dr. Reuben and thank him for his help!

I'm talking about back pain so bad you're crying, no matter what position you're in you hurt, and where you're in so much pain you are physically ill and throwing up all day long, that kind of back pain. I was able to get an appointment for the same day, and upon arrival the receptionist (who I believe is also Dr.Lok's wife) greeted me like family, and thankfully immediately showed me where the restroom was so my stomach could rebel again. Then, after that lovely experience, I was taken into a treatment room where Dr. Lok questioned me on what was wrong and then proceeded to examine me. Before coming to the U.S., Dr.Lok was a surgeon in China, so the man knows anatomy. Pretty quickly Dr.Lok determined that I was experiencing tendinitis down my spine ("easy to treat"), and stick his handy little needles from the starting point to where it stopped, attached the little electric doodads and got it going, plus put a heat lamp over my back to increase whatever relief I could get. Let me tell you, there was immediate relief! I took a quick nap on my stomach (and I'm a back sleeper), that's the kind of relief I'm talking about. Once done, Dr.Lok essentially gave me a spine massage, massaging me in between each individual vertebrae. After it was all over, I got up moved about twisting around, and holy crap I felt so so much better, I could move! Oh, and since Dr.Lok does not advertise, his prices are extremely reasonable: $99, though I added a 20% tip for making me feel so much better. I will definitely be coming back!

I wanted to avoid going into Manhattan for acupuncture as I was in extreme pain due to carpal…read moretunnel issues. So, I searched out something locally and found Dr. Jing's place. She was extremely knowledgable and able to see me the same day I called. The office was very clean and comfortable and I did leave with pain level at a 3 instead of a 10. However, I can only give three stars as the session was only for 30 minutes and the price was $175! She also did not do any medical-type massage beforehand which I've had done with three different acupuncturists in the past. I have NEVER ever paid that much for acupuncture, let alone for a session under an hour (I've paid $80-90). I really regret not asking for the price beforehand. She encouraged me to check with my health insurance about coverage (which it does not cover) but even with insurance potentially picking up the tab, I don't know how you justify $175 for 30 minutes.

The dentist couldn't do anything for the pain, and Advil wasn't working, so I decided to try acupuncture. Within one session, Dr. Jing was able to relieve the pain, and with a second visit I was completely pain-free and able to close my jaw again! It was like magic. It was my first time doing acupuncture, but she made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She explained her process thoroughly, and was extremely gentle and caring during the session. Her service is reasonably priced and worth every penny - I could not find instant pain relief like hers anywhere else. I was skeptical of acupuncture at first, but Dr. Jing has made me a believer. I have come back to her for other problems such as cramps and headaches. She is able to cure them all. I highly recommend Dr. Jing to anybody looking for pain relief. After returning to this practice following a few months away, I was genuinely shocked by the level…read moreof unprofessionalism I encountered. Dr. P immediately made unnecessary comments about my vacation destination, revealing a surprising lack of basic geographical awareness. He then shifted into odd commentary about my birthday celebration -- remarks that were irrelevant, inappropriate, and frankly unwelcome. Throughout the appointment, Dr. P spoke far more than any chiropractor I've ever seen, and unfortunately, his conversations consistently veered into tangents that had nothing to do with chiropractic care. Many of these comments were rude, dismissive, and completely out of line for a healthcare setting. The most concerning moment occurred as I was leaving. I asked a simple question about using a foam roller for a "snowman" exercise, and he responded by accusing me of being racist -- then corrected himself and said I was being sexist for saying "snowman" instead of "snowwoman." This kind of crass, performative humor is not only unprofessional but deeply uncomfortable, especially for young women seeking care. After reading another woman's negative experience, I felt compelled to share mine. Women should be aware that this practice requires a thick skin for abrasive behavior, inappropriate commentary, and an overall lack of respect from the doctor. To make matters worse, I had even considered his referral to another chiropractor closer to my home. That experience turned out to be even worse in terms of professionalism. Based on both encounters, I do not believe these environments are safe or appropriate for young women seeking chiropractic care. Additionally, during my visit, the staff was printing hundreds of "free exam" invitations and asked me to refer friends. I called the next day and made it clear that while I am happy to recommend local contacts, the doctor's conduct must be addressed -- otherwise new patients will walk out just as I did. Although Dr. P may be technically competent, the environment he creates is unacceptable. Based on my experience and the experiences of other women, I will not return and strongly caution others -- especially young women -- before considering this practice or any referrals associated with it.
