I love this hotel. The staff are really lovely and the management (and staff)work hard! I return every year for a conference and they remember so many of us. The rooms are nice and big and tasteful but sometimes the cleaning of rooms (dust on walls and lights) is not done (I just notice this as I used to be a Hotel Manager). The conference room is good and has air con and heating with a bar in the corner. The restaurant is nice and food is lovely. Some of the smaller rooms could perhaps do with a wee upgrade, but thats just me being a bit picky! The bar is expensive £6 almost for a glass of wine and £3.60 for vodka and coke, but that is only to be expected for a hotel bar! There are accessible rooms and many rooms on the ground floor, there is no lift, but as I said there are a lot of rooms on the ground floor! Showers are great and powerful (although at 8am they are not so fab when the hotel is full but still work fine). There is free wifi and an iron and hairdryer in every room. Small soaps and stuff and plenty of towels. Mini bar fridges and safes in rooms (extra cost if you want to use them) and nice flat screen TV's. The beds are really comfy and big! It's a 10/15 minute walk into Irvine and faily easy to find as it's not really near anything! I got my room cheaper on line £55 B&B per night when they were charging £70 themselves. Great hotel, would recommend if you are about that area of the country! Enjoy :) read more
