In this shop you find pool tables and sports accecoiries. They even sell tables which cost more than 6000EUROS! It's fascinating, but the best part you can find in a little room at the store on the first floor. Here you can find pool tables dating back from the 18th century! Did you even know they played pool (or was it snooker?) back then? There's also a little room with discounts which is cool. You can find some cool vintage lampshades for a good price. Wij zijn Thissen Biljarts, al sinds 1898 een vaste waarde in Antwerpen en ver daarbuiten. Als familiebedrijf, geleid door de vijfde generatie, combineren we vakmanschap met een passie voor spel, ontspanning én het creëren van herinneringen. In onze 1500 m² grote belevingswinkel vind je alles van biljart-, pool- en snookertafels tot darts, tafelvoetbal, gezelschapsspelen en meer. Dankzij onze diensten zoals herstellingen, verhuur en persoonlijk advies zijn we dé referentie voor recreatieve spelers én professionals.

History

Established in 1898.

Na jarenlang zelfstandig biljarthersteller geweest te zijn besloot Pieter Michael Thissen in 1898 zijn eigen biljartfabriek op te richten. Hij huwde met Maria Slegers en samen begonnen ze de firma biljarts “Thissen - Slegers” gevestigd in de Kerkstraat op de hoek met de Carnotstraat te Borgerhout. Om het verschil te maken nam hij voltijdse beeldhouwers in dienst welke van elk biljart een uniek en exclusief exemplaar maakten. Iets later werd er gestart met totaal inrichting van cafés. Rond 1930 was de firma zo succesvol dat uitbreiding nodig was. De toonzaal verhuisde naar het grotere pand in de Van Wesenbekestraat te Antwerpen waar de zetel nu nog steeds gevestigd is.

We richten onze (darts)pijlen niet alleen op biljarttafels en toebehoren, maar verzorgen ook amusementsspellen allerlei. Deze zijn grotendeels beschikbaar in onze winkel en toonzaal in Antwerpen waar je elk product kan testen en proberen. Een bezoekje is alvast een beleving waard en zal je ongetwijfeld een flashback geven aan prettige herinneringen aan je jeugd, studententijd, legerdienst of vakantie.

One time a saw an old couple coming out of the shop en they really had to work hard to get out of the door. But they finally succeeded, so don't worry. Every tiny space or spot is filled with stuff like buttons, needles or other sewing material. But when you ask the person from the shop for help she will know where everything is and she can make some great suggestions!
