In the States, you have everything in Home Depot, which is probably far away from down town and next to a highway. Big arse shop where you can practically get anything there. In Hong Kong, we have all these local shops in each neighborhood. There was one when I lived in North Point, and there was one in Wanchai. Here comes the one in the Mid-Levels. Yeah you wonder, how the hell they can sell you everything you need, with the size of the shop only 1/100th of Home Depot. Yeah that's the mystery I haven't actually solved, but I gladly take that as a fact. Shower head? You got it. That rubber covering the leg of a chair? Yes we have all different sizes and shapes. That something something that I can't even describe it, but here's a picture? Yup, no problem at all. And they have an all-in-one electrician/locksmith/plumber as well. Usually he's not in the shop, so you have to make an appointment with the lady at the shop. He would come anytime from 1 to 2 hours at usual hours. I don't think he's on call 24/7, so thankfully I never had to call him off working hours. And the service / accessories are reasonably cheap. Of course the price could go down another dollar or two in North Point, but that's probably not significant to most of us, but to them so I'd never mind paying for a fair price for a fair service.

Situated on the second level in Southorn, the Computer Centre is right next to the B2 exit of the Wan Chai MTR. The setup is pretty simple; it is a maze of small shops that range from computer help to mobile repair to video games with an entrance / exit accessible only by escalators. The space is tight, with low ceilings and narrow hallways, which make this place somewhat claustrophobic especially when there are people crowding certain stores. My favorite time to come here is between 10-11am. Most of the shops are open and there is plenty of room to explore without the people rush. I've purchased mousepads, USB adapters, keyboards, camera memory, and basic electronics. Most of the things I've sought out can be purchased at any discount / flea market, but quality is a concern this is a good place to start. Every store has its own unique inventory, it never hurts to bargain and shop around. Always bring a smart phone with a picture of the desired item. It saves a lot of dialogue and keeps the shopping experience ideal. The prices aren't going to be as cheap as Kowloon, but it does the trick on short notice.

It was super crowded, but it was organized that there is only one way in, and one way out. There are a lot of different section that was set up, so I stopped by each station to pay respect and pray for my wishes. Staff were friendly and available to help when needed. This temple is not only for praying, but it is also a symbol of the traditional Chinese culture. I would say this is one of the must visit spot in Hong Kong.

This is in fact an amazing news for all as this place is opened 24-hour a day and you do not need to bring your dirty laundry to those local laundromats where the staff may criticize your taste in clothes. As a matter of fact, this shop is fairly new to Hong Kong as it is from Taiwan originally and it finally branches out and here it comes. I am almost 100% sure just in a few months, there will be more of this opening all around Hong Kong. The best part about this place is it is very user-friendly and it has clear instructions teaching you how to do this and to be honest, how difficult can this be? This may probably be better than other laundromats. As for the price, it is very cheap and of very decent quality, compared to the exorbitant rate Hotel laundry charges you. It has only opened for less than 2 weeks and I can see more and more people coming here and most washing machines are occupied already. Unfortunately currently they do not provide English instructions so you may need to rely on the help of the locals. But over all, this is very convenient.
