I see exactly why the parking lot is always empty when I pass by. This location is nothing like the Camp Creek one. I ordered baked chicken with rice, sweet potato soufflé, mac and cheese, and potato salad. I also purchased my grandmother a plate with meatloaf, collard greens, and sweet potato soufflé. What really set the tone was having to stand there and watch the young lady fix both of my plates. She was extremely stingy with the portions. I mean tiny dabs of food. The amount of rice on both plates was honestly shameful -- you could clearly see the bottom of the container. I almost turned around and walked out, but since I had already driven an hour to get there, I decided to continue. Watching someone fix $15 plates like that, knowing the price, was very disappointing. The baked chicken was dry and hard. The mac and cheese was not creamy and not cheesy at all. The potato salad was just okay. The only thing that was actually good was the sweet potato soufflé -- and it was a 10/10. This was my fourth time giving this location a chance. I usually buy at least eight plates when I come, so you can imagine how much money I've spent trying to support them. At this point, the only reason I would ever return is for the potato soufflé -- and nothing else. They really need training from associates at the other locations because I want to root for them. The other locations know how to: * Properly portion food * Cook it the right way * Offer real options Here, the bar looked pitiful, and to charge that much for so little food just doesn't make sense. I'm used to going to This Is It and seeing real ribs, spicy ribs, pork chops, and variety. I understand business -- if things don't sell, you focus on heavy sellers -- but this bar looked like bare minimum effort. For the price, I can go to A1 Soul Food, get way more food, and it tastes good every single time. I think I'm done with This Is It -- at least this location. And I don't take any pictures because the plates went in the trash after we at the soufflé. read more

Good : *the flavor and cook of the food was perfect *reasonably priced *ample parking *plenty of indoor parking The Not So Good: *the wait for entree to come was a bit long *they kept forgetting items from the order...which meant even longer wait time for certain items. *although shrimp is on the menu, (which we ordered) we were told it was discontinued all together AFTER waiting and paying for it. we opened the box and it was chicken wings that's when we brought it to the cashier's attention and that's when she told us about it being discontinued and said they thought chicken would be fine. We told her we were pescatarian so we don't eat chicken so she offered fish instead...which was more wait time *also ordered biscuits but never received them. After asking a few times and them "going to the back" to get them, they finally said they ran out and offered us cornbread instead. Despite all that still gave 3 star instead of 2 because overall the staff was friendly and apologetic and the food itself (when we finally got it) was really good. read more

In February 2026, I ordered two sides through the drive thru, they had me park then 15 min later no food. They took my money. Terrible prices, bad food and bad customer service. read more

Butch!! I know this is not what your vision was, great ambiance but HORRIBLE food. My GOD! I haven't had food from here in years and I was expecting to be blown away. The portions have gotten smaller and quality has gotten worse. This was absolutely horrible. The Mac and cheese was burnt and hard. The pork chop was okay but flavorless. read more

This Is It - 1pc Pork Chop Dinner - Barbeque Near Me - Douglasville, Georgia

Went there yesterday as part of a group of eight. (Car club.) The food was quite good. I had a chopped pork sandwich, green beans and mashed potatoes. The food was really good. Lots better than some other barbecue I've eaten. Portions were generous, but not huge. I certainly didn't go away hungry. It was kind of spendy, but so is everywhere else, so... The restaurant was also perfect for a group meet-up because it was not loud inside, at that time of day. We were able to carry on a conversation. read more

IF I COULD GIVE THIS LOCATION A ZERO I WOULD, THEIR FOOD IS OLD AND STALE BECAUSE THEY DON'T GET CUSTOMERS AND THINK THEY CAN SELL YOU ANYTHING. I ordered a whole catfish 1pc and the price is $16 and they didn't even have a whole catfish only a fillet and still charged me the price of a whole catfish lol when I can ride down to Fulton industrial and get a 2pc whole fried catfish for $17 from JJ's chicken and fish. This place is a joke! I see why they're never packed. read more

I ordered the rib tips and I was able to eat all of them . The customer service was amazing especially when young people serve you , and they were very courteous. They moved the line quickly. Great job!!! read more

The mac n cheese is good but lacks seasoning, the cabbage lacks seasoning but cooked well, the roasted chicken seasoned to perfection and the sassy rice. My husband loved the liver n' onions, the sassy rice, collard greens, and fried chicken and My father had the ribs which I ordered online at 6pm for my father's 81st birthday. I did not walk out the door until 7:55 pm. That is ridiculous. The staff was friendly but lacked enthusiasm to fulfill my order which was already paid for. They had no peach cobbler, the manager promised collard greens and never supplied them- I had to ask a young lady for them. Service was mediocre at best. read more

My phone order was taken by the nicest lady. Very polite and patient. Answered my questions thoroughly. Wasn't rushed by customers I assumed that was in front of her and had me hold while she completed her current transaction as I was calling, then helped me. I appreciate her kindness very much!!! read more

The food is tasty. The restaurant is clean. The service in drive thru is slow. The service inside is slow.

The order I placed was for the 2 for $35 and when I got to the register I was told one of the items wasn't included. I tried to tell the young lady my sides in advance and she told me she would come back over to me to get them. They use to go plates so it would be helpful to write it on the box to cut down time. The workers are teenagers and move in slow motion. Now I have always loved This Is It on Camp Creek! I was super excited about this location. The sides were awful! I'm still in disbelief! We had collards, Mac & Cheese, baked beans, and fried okra. My husband's fish and my sons shrimp was over cooked. I will stick to the Camp Creek location! Very disappointment. Douglasville has a lot of black owned restaurants that are really good. Unfortunately, this location isn't adding value! read more

The service was great, food hot an good. Chris was polite and very professional. Thank you

The quality of food options varies; they can be good at times but inconsistent overall.

I ordered the grilled whiting with cabbage and sweet potato soufflé the price is 16.99 plus a charge for using your debit card they should have a sign at the register they charge additional fee when paying with the card the fish had a funky Taste also they added rice to my plate I didn't ask for they will not refund my money even a customer commented on how the fish smelled read more

I was only in town for a short time and was looking for fast soul food. "This Is It" is just that. I ordered meatloaf on top of potatoes, with cabbage, greens, banana pudding, red velvet cake, and peach tea. The server was very nice, made suggestions, and knew what he was doing. The place was very clean and since it was closing time there were only a few customers there enjoying their food. There were only a few people in line ahead of me, which is something I needed. I took my food to-go. But next time I will enjoy it at a table. When I made it to a gas station I dove in and was not disappointed. The food was good but I couldn't eat it all. The peach tea was said to be something that would help me stay awake for a long drive. It definitely did! Thanks for that. I will definitely go back when in the neighborhood again. read more

Let's talk about the food bc well that's what you're here for. We got the 2 meals for $35 bucks. I ordered the 4 fried chicken wings, with Mac & cheese, & potato salad. Peach cobbler for dessert and a Pepsi, sound good don't it, and it was!!! It was more than enough food I had plenty left for the next day. The chicken was fried right. My Mac & cheese surprised me bc normally folks skimp on this one but I had no complaints and my potato salad was good not mushy, not over pickled. The cobbler was hella good, just a little soupy and not enough crust bc really that's all I want, hella crust (yes hella I'm from the Bay) a few peaches and I'm good. The flavor was on point. Now my cousin was the one to go in, and her wait was long very long. She was at the new location in Douglasville so they have some kinks to work out and I'll be right there ordering once they do. read more

Let me start this review by saying that I really try to work with people/businesses and give them the benefit of the doubt until they try to play in my face. At that point, the lack of customer service is evident and I have to take matters into my own hands. I ordered and paid in advance for food during the recent holiday and it was supposed to be ready by a certain time. Upon arriving about 45 minutes early, I am told that my food wasn't ready and won't be for another hour and a half. What??? I waited for about 2 hours and a half on my prepaid food. After asking for the catering manager, who I had dealt with when I ordered, I was given the owner who was really no help. During this long wait, no one came back to keep me updated about my food. I saw several people come and go with their food and several employees helping others, but not me. I really feel that they were taking so many non prepaid orders in their drive thru that they sold my already paid for food. I was probably one of the last cars there and one of the ladies asked another what I was waiting on....MY FOOD!!! Upon getting my food, I went home very upset at my experience. On Thanksgiving, I realized that my food was not what I ordered and paid for. I have been calling the restaurant since 11/28 with no answer. I finally got someone on 12/3, 12/4, and 12/5, but not who I needed so that decisions to take care of ME (the customer) could be made. This was a terrible experience that I don't wish for anyone. I have experienced This Is It for many years, but this location is not it!!! I would recommend you get the right people in the right positions and TRAIN them well and to give a great understanding about CUSTOMER SERVICE. #thisisnotit read more

I went through the drive through on 6/6 l ordered fried whiting. I ordered 3 different sizes they were out of. I ended up ordering baked beans and coleslaw. I got home the fish and coleslaw were delicious. The baked beans were mush. I couldn't see no beans. I couldn't eat them. I don't recommend the baked beans. read more

Terrible ribs. The ribs Were dry and over cooked. The tables were not clean. I will not be eating there again.

I was at Lowe's, passed by the restaurant, and decided to give it another try today 8/27/24. The service was greatly improved from my previous experience a few weeks or so ago. The hot bar looked well stocked. The food I tried was great. I normally get a veggie plate. I would strongly recommend revisiting if you had a prior bad experience. read more

A restaurant is supposed to have food. The food bar was half empty and the stuff that was available looked like it was 2 days old. The 2 cars in the parking lot at noon should have been a warning. We were all so excited when we heard it was coming. Please close down and bring back Folks read more

I had the meatloaf on a random weekday for lunch and it was pretty good. The only thing was the cornbread seemed to be a lil moldy (had blue dots on the bottom side) it was probably just old. Otherwise the plate of food was delicious read more

My hsuband and I had a wonderful eating experience at This Is It in Douglasville, GA. We ordered the 2 for thirty five - 3 piece fried fish, 2 veggies, cornbread and deserts. All was hot and delicious. The hostess (name unknown)y and Chris, our restaurant servers was polite and helpful; what ever we needed they were their to serve our table. My husband said that the restroom was being cleaned; he is always concerned about sanitation. The restaurant was also well kept. This was our second visit to this location. We will return again. read more

I have been here several times when they first opened and I must say that I was previously disappointed, but thought I would give them another chance. I was pleasantly surprised when the food and customer service had improved tremendously! My mother and I ate in the dining area and Chris came around and asked if we needed anything and I had to tell him how impressed I was with the improvement. If you have experienced the same type of service previously I urge you to go back and give them another chance. You will not be disappointed! read more

Let's review the long awaited opening of this location to Douglasville Ga. Outside looks just like other older locations around metro Atlanta. Upon entering it looked like walking into a cafeteria immediately met with a couple L-shaped stem table and chairs no booths are decorations just open area with separated tables. Is this what they think of us in Douglasville? I guess so. I've gone during the day and again about 7:00 pm and the food on the steam table look like it did when I visited earlier in the day. Veggies under the juice so you have to ask what t is. Sauce on meat looked like left overs from the fridge and when I got it home about 4 miles away I had to put in microwave. Veggies were not really seasoned. Staff friendly enough but always running around bumping into each other as those they don't really know what they are doing. Service very slow! Very disappointed in the brothers for this awful location e when we compare to others. A new cook may also be in order. Just speaking my mind. We deserve better than what we got. read more

The food is good but man you're going to wait for it. If they say a specific time to wait or go to a parking spot, add 25 more minutes to that time and there isn't a line most times. They drop one food item at a time. Frustrating. I haven't checked out the other locations yet. read more

Have fresh food ready for dinner service. Out of greens which is a stable in this type restaurant. Staff was basically deterring me from asking for certain food by stating how long it will take to wait for it. Corn bread rolls hard and old..when asked for fresh, waiter got an attitude. Dont know why they push you to pay for food before it's ready. Food does not look appetizing. This chain has gone downhill since it has opened so many stores.
