I booked an important commercial shoot in NYC at the last minute and needed to find a studio. The…read moreshoot was a combo of a still shoot and a tv commercial at the same time. I looked at numerous studios, and then a friend recommended Brooklyn Studios in Long Island City. I did a walk through that evening... and booked the studio for a few days. This served our purposes of having a stage and a studio all wrapped into one. Brooklyn Studios was reasonably priced. The staff was efficient and accommodating. It has an amazing rooftop with an incredible view of the 59th St Bridge and Manhattan, conference rooms, and lounge area. Very clean - my shoot involved a celebrity, so cleanliness was of utmost importance. I have worked at many studios around the country, mostly in NYC and LA - this was one of the best experiences I have had. Great location. Easy access. Professional staff. Spotless.

I am doing some freelance work for a production company and they are utilizing the massive and…read morepretty darned awesome Parlay Studios as their studio set and temporary office space. Overall this appeared to be a giant warehouse and when I asked more about the facility was told it used to be a storage company. The video is being shot in a sizable room (of which there are a few others) while we are working with the crew and office team in a different space that we have all to ourselves. This allowed us to remain closer to the video crew and talent. I can say that there are also smaller cubicle sized office segments in another section for remote work and meetings but those were all occupied by different clients and the team I was with was very mobilized. Ample parking is available in a connected garage and there are other sections of the building where load-in of larger gear can be done. There is a provided WiFi signal throughout the entire building but each has a section based on their size. As I explored I saved every signal since my work involves me walking around and I didn't want to be offline a second. While most productions have their own catering brought in Parlay does have a small coffee shop where patrons can order a beverage. This cafe is not complimentary though to my knowledge. It is a very well lit space as well which is good for productions that prefer natural light on set. There is also a kitchen area if you need a microwave or refrigerator and washer for items on your set. A pleasant bonus and hey, they have the room so why not. There are plenty of bathrooms and they are quite clean. Another bonus IMHO. The staff of the studio was excellent from the front desk to management that we encountered and while I don't see myself being here as a client filming or recording, I encourage those in my media world to look into it if they require such things. There is branded swag around the facility like pads and pens which I asked to take along with me since I always need that but I didn't see any smaller hand-sanitizers with their branding. Nowadays this is never a bad thing to have on hand for people. I can't quote prices but I am sure they are worth it based on observations. If this kind of place is what your ideas need to be manifested in the real, give them a call. Safety Precautions: All visitors must have their temperature checked and wear a wristband to enter and masks are a must wear situation no matter your vaccination status. If you don't like either of these things you are not getting into the facility.

From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive and answered every single question I had. Communication was super easy and stress-free, which meant so much during the chaos of planning an elopement. Her prices are so so reasonable and good for NYC, and the quality of her photos. We originally booked her for just one hour and didn't even plan on having her come inside the Manhattan Clerk's Office with us. But she was so kind and flexible, she extended another hour and joined us inside, and we are SO glad she did. Those moments are some of our absolute favorite photos. She is beyond professional and makes you feel completely comfortable in front of the camera. She guided us with posing and angles in such a natural way, so nothing felt awkward or forced. On top of that, she truly knows the most beautiful spots around the city and exactly how to use the lighting to make everything look magical. Her photos speak for themselves. They're timeless, bright, perfectly focused, and absolutely stunning. And her turnaround time for edited photos was EXTREMELY quick, which was such an amazing surprise! BOOK HER FOR TIMELESS BRIGHT PHOTOS. We are so, so pleased with our experience and our photos!!! If you need a photographer for an elopement or any NYC photoshoot, Elena is your person. She is truly amazing at what she does and incredibly kind and personable.

I absolutely loved shooting with Deer Studios--and special shout out to Alexander who made our…read moreshoot day a success! With Covid-19 restrictions it's made it a bit difficult to scout out locations in advance so I was incredibly pleased when Alexander allowed us to move from Studio B into Studio A last minute with no hassle. It made our shoot just that much better being allowed the extra headspace in Studio A. Booking was simple, communication was very clear and Alexander was a key partner in helping me ensure that my crew knew how to get to the location, what safety precautions were necessary and he got back to me with all of my questions almost immediately (a blessing). The studio itself was kept in optimal condition and our crew was able to set up and tear down all equipment seamlessly. During shooting we even ran into a noise issue from the floor above and Alexander to the rescue again made sure to get the noise down so that it wouldn't blend into our audio. I'm looking forward to working again with Deer Studios for future bookings:)

They provide multiple, and very stylish, props that are easy to use. They have garment racks, and shooting equipment available for rent in case you don't have something and need it. There was also a great set-up for the make-up artist and a just right-size changing room for the models. The studio is also set up to attach your camera to a large screen so you can see your shots as they are taken, making immediate correction a possibility. The lighting was perfect. With all this fabulous, you would think their price would be through the roof, and it isn't. This studio is perfect for independent designers looking to do green screen/lookbook, and other shots. Finally, Jenna, the person responsible for our shoot was amazingly friendly and on-point. My team was super-impressed with the whole set-up and are convinced that all our shoots should take place here. We are definitely coming back! My husband and I hired this company for our wedding photography. At the start we were impressed…read morewith their thoroughness in the photography contract they had us sign, as well as their timeliness in getting back to us. HOWEVER, they were scheduled to begin taking wedding photos at 6 and finish at 8pm. Not only did they NOT arrive on time, they arrived 2 HOURS LATE!!! They not only missed all the wedding photos before the wedding which was during early evening (beautiful lighting), they missed taking pictures of EVERYTHING in the CEREMONY (except the last 5-10 minutes). We were on a very restrictive time schedule because wedding ceremony/reception were on a cruise boat that needed to leave by a certain time. We had to start the wedding ceremony LATE because we were waiting for them and we started the reception cruise and hour late because they were taking pictures. I asked them to stay on the boat (3 hours) although we had not paid for that service, in order for them to make up the hours and time they lost earlier. They said they could not stay on the boat because they were "photographing another wedding the next day and needed to get home." They did NOTHING to compensate for their horrible mistakes and unprofessionalism. They did not make us pay the remainder of our contract but the minimum they could have done was offer to refund our deposit or give us an album of our pictures or some service above and beyond what we paid for. They said "We're sorry." But that doesn't take back that they missed 2 hours of one of the most important events of my and my husbands life. It makes me sick to think we could have paid someone else who would have done the same job, probably better and would have been there for the time we had asked. They're extreme tardiness and the impact it had on the entire events of my wedding day, was by far the most stressful thing I experienced on my wedding day and all the prior months of planning. Again, the least they could have done was offer some form of compensation for their mistakes.

I never wrote them a review and when I saw that their only review on Yelp was so negative, well I had to rectify that ASAP! So we had a very different experience. Hiring BACD was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding (Worst decision? DIY flowers. DON'T do it!!). They are both incredibly talented photographers with an amazing eye, not like the usually cheesy wedding photogs that make you do stiff family poses for hours. They got tons of really cool candids and the portraits had this dreamy, ethereal quality that looked like it came out of the pages of Vogue. They are the sweetest and were really accommodating about our budget and overall just a really cool couple! I highly recommend them!
