The Bad: Even by Waterloo standards (a town of spoilt rich kids), this place is really overly pretentious, with snobby spoilt brats in polos with turned-up collars getting drunk, while their fake-tan, surgically-enhanced mothers and their sugar daddies eat in the restaurant next door. Also, the music is far too loud, but the hysterical screeching of the brats is far worse. I'm unlikely to go back

But to be honest I experienced the total opposite. Service was fast friendly and the prices are modestly higher than normal.. you can't expect to get a view like this for free.. in most city's there's a queue and ticket booth for observatory decks. I had a chivas on the top, my favorite (8 euro, other whiskeys like jack go cheaper). The night was still young and the view was great. For everyone visiting Hasselt this is a must.. It seems to me like the perfect start of a long night...

It's first come, first serve - self-served. There is hot food and snacks. There are toilets to the right. In the day time, the sun is shining so brightly through the huge windows. It's annoying and hot to sit by the window. The drinks are in the fridge and bottled. You need their bottle opener for every drink. I enjoyed the waffle snacks. Accessible with Priority Pass, which also allows two guests for free. By the time I left, the front counter was telling people that the lounge was full. They could enter but no seats.

Dim lighting in case you woke up from a nap and your eyes are still adjusting to light. Alot of seating space with personal cubbies if you need to finish up some work. There are two kegerators (served a belgium pilsner and amber) that my friend mistook for coffee, because it looked like a Keurig! He wasn't mad. Standard European coffee machine that makes everything, including your bed if you wanted to. Two refridgerators stocked with glass water, soda, and beers. Contintental style food. We went during breakfast so there were croissants, cheeses, breads, and jams. Overall, this is the best airport lounge I've been to. Highly recommend.

The menu is unique and you have a lot to choose from--don't feel afraid to ask the staff for recommendations. They are very sweet, passionate and knowledgeable. Please try the Hylde-- it's my favorite. Made with elderflower and Jenever (a local equivalent to gin). If you're up for something fun and strange -- they have a fantastic drink made from asparagus juice and horseradish. If you're in the area and I mean anywhere in Belgium -- highly recommend making your way to this place. It's a gem!
