Dr. Costa is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate, and he takes the time to truly listen. His PAs, Bobbi and CJ, are both outstanding--attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make each visit feel comfortable and reassuring. A special thank you to Barbara, who truly went above and beyond to help me with my insurance. She was patient, thorough, and proactive, making sure everything was handled properly so I could get reimbursed. Her dedication and kindness turned what could have been a stressful situation into a smooth and positive experience. I am extremely grateful for the exceptional care and outstanding service from Dr. Costa and his entire team. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for top-quality care and a staff that truly cares.

Horrible!!! If I could have left a review without a rating I would have. Dr. Costa was very…read moredisrespectful to my wife and I. I wound up in the hospital with a skin infection on the hip I was operated on and I never even spoke to the Dr. through the time I was in the hospital, always a PA. when I did get to see him he was nasty to me and told my wife to be quiet. He told me I missed an appointment. I told him I was in the hospital the day of my appt and even called his Office to cancel while still in the hospital. I was lucky enough to find a wonderful Dr that took me on as a patient. I am now five months out and still having pain and swelling. Take your time and check out other Drs and surgery options. The anterior approach is not the best for everyone. Get an evaluation from a Dr that performs both types of hip replacements and don' t let the doctor talk down to you or give you a sales pitch.

I did not feel rushed or like I was just a number here. The staff was friendly and quick to get me registered and into the room without delay. I normally dread going to any doctors offices but this one was clean, had comfortable seating and staff that seemed to really like their jobs which is rare these days. 10/10, 5 stars, hopefully I won't have to go back but if I ever have back pain again they will be my choice.

NO STARS FOR THESE DOCTORS...... No surprise the 2 doctor's…read morein this group who affected my life probably spent more time and money scrambling to have my 100% honest 1st person comments and reviews I posted ( IAW Terms and Conditions of the platform to do so) deleted from Google and some other Medical Review sites. So I figured after I was finally able to get out of bed this morning to post again. As weird as it may sound both these doctors are on my mind every day and have been multiple times a day for over 10 years. Every time I reach for my cane in the morning, when I have to run to the restroom or pee my pants or when I try to do something as easy as screwing in a light bulb. Sadly I have to take a break before I can finish that task. Both these doctors had hands on me during a surgery and ruined my life by damaging my spinal cord during a surgery in 08. They both know what they did and who I am. I will be posting pictures of before and after MRI films of my spinal cord before and after they opened me up to "fix" a herniated disk. "I have done hundreds of these fusions" is what I was told and now I live with the words "I really had a hell of a time getting that bone out, I had to really tug and pull to remove it". That is most likely true but somewhere he left the part out when he should have told me your life will never be the same because it is very possible you now have Permanent Spinal cord damage where the tugging and pulling was done! If he could tell me in the way he did I can only imagine what really went on that day! Not making this up folks. Did I mention this was the first time I ever met this other doctor who told me this in the hallway during a post op visit. This was the visit when I first told the doctor that I could not feel my shoulder at all since waking up from the surgery. He told me "probably the way I was sleeping". Little did I know that not having feeling in my shoulder is something I WISH was the only problem I would have to live with after this surgery? Anyway I will be posting pictures of my arm muscles before and after and all the reports and data backing up my experience. Some PII and names will be redacted but I am sure we are all use to that by now right?( MAGA 2020). So I went from a pretty athletic guy in his early 40's to someone who has atrophied to a guy who has lost so much muscle my skin is actually hanging like someone who had weight loss surgery. The difference is my loose skin is where my muscle once was and now gone due to this of this surgical disastrous blunder. Remember doc this is all because of how I sleep right! Or because you lied and said I refused to wear my collar in your post op report. Shame Shame. I hope you both enjoyed your Christmas. I just got done taking pain meds and baclofen so I could make it through another day!! Sadly I am ashamed to say this but I am not addicted to pain meds but I am dependent on them because of the pain I live in now. I have to fool everyone at work and get through my day and sadly my big arms I use to be so proud of stay in long sleeves year round. I can never take off my shirt again because I am so embarrassed how deformed my arms and atrophied muscles look. I was my son's hero as a great athlete and now I can't throw a ball with him or run around the yard. I can only teach him with words not actions. Sad but true!! You can relate right Doc? You were a big football star weren't you? MY SCAR LOOKS GREAT BY THE WAY!! FIGURED I WOULD TELL YOU BECAUSE YOUR PAMPAS ASS BRAGGED ABOUT THAT SO MUCH! I am sure you will have one of your paid trolls have this 100% 1st person experience review deleted like you did my others. It is all legit and I hope one person takes my experience to go get another opinion at a NS. But for you if you don't show every new potential patient you have 5 stars then you might lose some business right? We don't want that God Forbid. I will just re-post my actual review and experience again in every platform offered. In my opinion I am sorry I did not GO TO A NEUROSURGEON!! I HAVE HONESTLY LIVED IN MISERY FOR OVER A DECADE! I did in fact have a cervical herniation at the C5 level that needed surgery and causing some symptoms such as tingling and pins and needles. But if I had known I would wake up and suffer every day for the rest of my life with what I ended up with I would have opted to forgo the surgery and seek other professional options. Please get a second and even 3rd opinion when having surgery in your neck. I am a real patient and "My Submission is true and accurate, it is my original work of authorship, and I am not impersonating any other person;" HAPPY NEW YEAR!! GO BLUEJAYS!!(-;

I've seen other knee replacements with scars and I have a very faint fine line scar. It's amazing! I also recommend their physical therapist that is located in the Tinton Falls facility. Cynthia Massagli, PT is amazing. I walked in with a walker and within a week she had me walking so much better. It's been 4 months and I'm still going for therapy but now for my shoulder. Apparently, it does happen with knee issues since we compensate by using our arms more. Cynthia has been compassionate and she knows exactly how to do whatever massage that she does with my shoulder to relieve the pain. I will continue my journey with Cynthia. The whole team at PT is wonderful. Everyone is pleasant, always smiling and asking how you are. Whenever I call I am greeted with a person who obviously loves their job!! So refreshing!!Cynthia does morning appointments and Sheila (spelling) does afternoon. I've watched her and she is awesome too. She always greets me when I see her with a smile and a thumbs up!!!

I have never written a review on google or yelp before but after a call with Jeanette the HR…read moredirector, I decided I had to.  I had received a call from Jeanette after I had left a review with them in a link they provided after my appointment. She stated she wanted clarification on what had happened but instead repeatedly made excuses and essentially called me a liar saying she will review the calls to see if what I said really happened and if the person I spoke with was actually rude since she has never gotten complaints before.  To make an appointment you cannot go in person you have to call. Well kind of. Jeanette said that some of the more experienced there would make an appointment and asked if I spoke to a white or black woman since the white woman was new. She seemed to not like whoever the white woman she was thinking of. Also, there are several white women  working reception there so I'm not sure why she assumed it was one specific person. Regardless, there seems to be one woman, Debbie, who schedules all of the appointments for at least the Toms River location over the phone, and on every call she has had a tone in her voice that makes it seem like you are inconveniencing her. One day Debbie had called me to reschedule an appointment I had due to the doctor being ill. No problem that happens and I understand. What I do not understand is why the patient has to bend over backwards for an appointment. For background, when I came for my initial appointment I was unemployed therefore my schedule was open and there were no issues for making my follow up appointment. By the time my second appointment rolled around I was employed and had made it so that I could still make that follow up appointment. When the follow up was canceled I could no longer come in on Thursdays, the one day of the week Dr. Gabisan is there. I was not made aware of this until having to reschedule. I asked if there was another doctor with the same specialty I could see to which I was rudely told no. This is hard to believe when there are 13 doctors that work in the Toms River location. I ended up having to make an appointment for two weeks later. The HR director's excuse for this was that doctors don't just take patients from one another unless they are asked and that if she really liked a doctor she would make it work. So a patient's request doesn't matter? I understand this is a different office but the place I received physical therapy from had no issues making appointments for me. If the doctor I originally saw wasn't available they had another take care of me with no issues. Each physical therapist that cared for me simply looked at my file then took the few minutes to get to know me and my injury so they could properly help me. To her second comment,  I had seen Dr. Gabisan one time. I was neither unhappy with him nor wowed so driving to another office that he is at, which is at least 30 minutes away from the office I chose is extremely inconvenient. Call me crazy but setting aside almost 2 hours of my day for a doctors appointment that lasts no more than 2 minutes (that is indeed how long I was face to face with the doctor for on the follow up) does not make sense. I wish when I made my very first appointment I was told that the doctor she wanted to assign me to was only at the location I chose once a week; especially if they were going to give me problems when asking to see someone else so MY appointment worked with MY schedule. This leads me to another issue I had. If a patient should wear specific clothing I.e shorts to their appointment in the middle of fall/winter, tell them when they make said appointment. Also, if at the time of visit the front desk is going to ask for an insurance card on a follow up visit, tell the patient when they make the appointment. This is the first doctor's office I have been to that has asked for the physical insurance card when I had been there before. To be clear I have no issue with that. I would gladly bring it with me if I was told to as it's not something I carry around with me on a daily basis. Jeanette's response to this and the doctors schedules was that they do not give out that kind of information and paper shorts are provided. No one ever wants to wear paper clothing. It is uncomfortable and personally it makes me feel like I'm out for all to see since it is extremely thin and can rip. While not having shorts or an insurance card did not inhibit me from seeing the doctor, it would have been convenient for everyone involved (myself, the front desk, the nurse, and doctor) if this information was told at the time the appointment was made.  I am extremely confused as to why they asked for a review if the HR department was just going to look at that review and demean the patient. I gave an honest but respectful review from a patients point of view. Just because that's the way things are done there or you have never had a bad review of someone does not mean it did not occur.
