overcrowded. they added lockers in the middle of hallway in locker room. I left my Gucci necklace in a robe that I put in laundry bin, called them right away, emailed, they acknowledged my email, then no response. No procedures to determine if staff do not turn in lost/found items etc. terrible. won't go back

My new favorite destination and the only reason I am coming back to Winnipeg. I was in Winnipeg from the Twin Cites for a few days to watch my husband in a tournament and decided to schedule treatments and spend a couple of hours on the thermal cycle. I ended up calling my husband on this particular day to tell him I wouldn't make it to his game. I spent 9 HOURS at Thermea instead! The longest "activity" I've ever done that was not work...I even came back for 5 hours on my last day in Winnipeg. I am so in love with this place. It is incredibly relaxing, tranquil, and addictive. I'm not a sauna person usually, but I've never experienced a aromatic one, so after sitting in the eucalyptus sauna I now know what was missing...aromatics. I would then jump into the cold pool, move to the moderately temped one, hot tub next, then relaxed in either the hammock or at the beach area. The beach area is AWESOME! I truly felt like I was on a "beach" vacation complete with sand, cabana's, and lounge chairs. Except I was surrounded by nature and the sound of birds chirping and soothing music. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality, delicious, and absolutely beautiful dishes at the restaurant. I enjoyed lunch, snacks, and teas and was happy with everything. Prices are high, but that's sort of expected at places like this. Another highlight was that there were no kids running around and there were signs everywhere asking people to whisper. Occasionally staff would ask groups to settle down if it got to loud. I wish they did that more often, but overall noise level was low. The majority of the staff were nice, but there were a couple of front desk people that seemed annoyed when I asked a question. That could have been a downer, but I decided to refuse to let it get to me. None the less, they need to work on this. I had never been here before, everyone coming here was new their first time, if you can't handle some questions then don't work in a customer facing role, or book a day and relax here to get rid of that attitude. As for the treatments, I enjoyed my massage, but will skip the body treatment next time. The facility is clean, there are plenty of towels available. You can also rent a robe, but bring sandals or shoes, and a swimsuit. There are lockers, they give you a rubber wrist band, which unlocks your locker. Lastly, bring a book and a water bottle, and just prepare to chill.

Wow!!! This is my FAVORITE place in Winnipeg! The grounds are relaxing, pools never too crowded, and a wonderful way to spend the day with the ones you love! Nothing better than hanging out in the dry sauna or steam room and then head directly to the polar pool. Note- its not cheap, but totally worth it if you plan to spend a few hours in the pools

I am absolutely in love with this place! This is another reason why Winnipeg is so awesome. I have yet to see a day spa like this anywhere other than Switzerland! The idea is to go through hot, cold and then warm saunas, pools, etc to shock your body and then unwind in relaxation areas. I love that this place is hidden in a forest so you don't get any traffic noise and feel like you're in a resort in the middle of nowhere. This place is actually pretty big and you can spend HOURS here. I actually recommend spending hours here because there is so many different areas to go to. I loved that some of the steam rooms had different aromatherapy smells such as lavender or citrus. It wasn't overpowering but a nice added touch. There was also a nice relaxation area where you could sit on warmed stone lounge chairs, put on headphones and listen to spa music. I may have fell asleep because it was nice and toasty on my backside. They also had canopy beds, hammocks and lounge chairs for lying out in the sun. The hammocks were my favorite. I loved the restaurant. What's nice is they allow you to sit here even if you're in your bathing suit or robe. You can take a break from your thermatherapy and go right back after eating. I highly recommend the PEI mussels if you're coming here. And the gelato is so refreshing and sweet. I recommend doing the Girls Getaway package (only on Tuesdays) because you get full access to their spa and also tapas, dessert and champagne! It's well worth the price.

My second visit to Thermea. I love this place! The only spa of its kind in Winnipeg. After checking in, we went for a quick steam in the "Vaporo" area, followed by a rinse in the shower. Then it was off to a 60 minute Swedish massage - lovely! (Thank you, Denise) This is how I like to start my Thermea experience. After the massage, my husband and I began the "Hot - Cold - Relax cycles". There are variations on how you can do this. You can begin the "Hot" with a dry heat or a "wet" sauna, hot tub, or even a scrub. Followed by a walk through the cold pool or a cold waterfall. Then its time to relax in a warm pool, by the fire, or on reclining chairs. We purchased the Gourmet Lunch special ($21) with our package. We went for the pickerel open-faced sandwich with 1/2 salad and drink, which I would recommend. Think of Thermea as a 1 day retreat, and allow yourself enough time to enjoy it. 8 hours went by very quickly. We agreed to make this a regular re-Treat for ourselves.

When things stabilized a little, I finally decided to pamper myself. I found Essentique and decided to give them a try, never having been to an Aveda salon before. I shot the works! the stress-fix mani/pedi, stress-fix massage, body polish, bikini wax and a haircut and blow out. OMG. I couldn't believe how great it was. Ava took care of me for the wax and manicure, Parvinder did my massage, body polish, and pedicure, and Kelly took care of my hair (the cut was better than the one I got at Chatters, and was more economical!). The body polish, with the hot towels was SOOOO relaxing. I nearly fell asleep. I felt so spoiled and amazing after I was done. I was offered something to drink during my mani/pedi, and everyone was so friendly and nice. I felt so refreshed and renewed afterward, and I'm so grateful. Thank you for a great job, ladies!

Yes, it was that long ago -- nails just aren't a thing for me. But, I really appreciated the experience here: I was asked about my preferences throughout -- preferred nail shape, if I wanted my cuticles trimmed, or pushed back, and whether I wanted my nails buffed before polish. After being asked none of those things elsewhere, I value how much the manicurist really wanted me to enjoy the results. And I did!! As an overall review, I would say I spent a great deal more time at this spa back in the days when it was possible to buy day passes for the mineral pools - I bought a few 10 packs in 2009/10, and really enjoyed it after work as away to unwind and warm up in the winter. Now that I have a different job and work far, far more hours per week I wouldn't have time to indulge in this even if it was available! But, over the past 1 - 1.5 years, I have had a d enjoyed body scrubs and wraps. TBH, I think they do the best wraps in the city because they provide a mini facial instead of just leaving you stranded in the room for 20 minutes like so.many.other.places (in Winnipeg, and elsewhere). I used to go more often when they had the rosehip healing wrap. The only downside to the spa is how noisy it is. True, certain days will be louder than others due to the hotel pool and water slide adjacent, but I have also found the mineral pool side of the spa quite noisy, so I find it hard to relax. But, as I understand, there are renovations planned to make the mineral pool side a little more secluded, and hopefully that will encourage a more soft, calming atmospheric

The one who massaged my lady friend, however, was way too chatty. Not only so, but her volume was quite loud too. Whenever I tried to tell the one massaging me something, she couldn't hear most of the time and the interference was getting pretty annoying. I can tell this is a pricey place (the massage was a gift) and the chattiness left me kinda sour, and the chatty one wasn't even the one massaging me. Otherwise, the establishment is quite nice. After the massage, ppl can go make tea or coffee upstairs, take a shower in the locker room, or use the amenities in the locker room. Within the locker room, they have shaving cream, disposable razors, a shower, mouth wash, and other things to get ppl freshly on their way. We booked a "couples" massage as a family day and were really excited to try hot stone therapy. We had to call to book since it wasn't letting us online and we were told we had to book many weeks out to both have hot stone, after a lot of back and forth we settled on one receiving hot stone and one regular massage so we could book sooner. Even at that, openings were very minimal and we had to work our schedules around it. We were not warmly greeted upon arrival and provided cheap polyester robes. Our locker stopped working making us need to go back out to rescue our belongings. After the massage we asked each other how the hot stone was (since in the midst of the silence we both thought somehow the other had been assigned the hot stone masseuse) and realized NEITHER of us had received it. Upon bringing it up at the. front we were offered $4 off our $420 appointment. No replacement offered for the service we never received. The massage itself was fine, but masseuse was sick and coughing. The level of service here and the fact that we never got what we booked was a huge disappointment and frankly this establishment isn't even close to living up to the hefty price tag they charge. Thermëa itself is underwhelming, but I'll save that for another review. So I took myself on a date and wanted to splurge on some amazing dinner for myself. I thought the cocktail was going to be more of an old fashioned, but it was kind of a summery drink. That was the only part of the dinner I didn't love, but whatever. The wine was like candy, I drank those two glasses immediately. Dinner: I had the Trout for dinner and it was amazing. I was so surprised at the portion size! It was actually so big! I paid $29 for it and wasn't expecting to get that much, so when I did I was really happy. It came with potatoes and seasonal veggies. It was drizzled in a herb buttermilk dressing. It was unreal. I was actually pretty full by the end of it! Dessert: I was full but I also had to get dessert. I was on a date with myself remember? I ordered the most unbelievable Tiramisu I've ever had in my life! This was easily the highlight of my dinner. For anyone eating at Restö please try this! My server was really friendly and the food came out very fast. I was also happy because they actually gave me my own little table in front of the fire (that solo life) and I was very comfortable. I just sat there and drank my wine and read the book I brought. I stared into the fire very seriously contemplating my life. This is the best part of Thermëa BY FAR.
