You do not always have to forgive and you don't always have to forget! Sometimes, once the bridge has been burned ... there's no fixing it. As long as you know what's best for you , nothing or nobody can make you feel bad especially when they play victim. I've distanced myself from all of this and I pick and choose who I want in my life. I can't control who will try to come back into my life after years of damage and with them bringing in negative energy so what I do is I will walk away! That's the best. No words , no need to explain A THING, but to just move forward by walking away and it will place them in their place . Some people aren't good and unfortunately will find a way to try to connect with you when they see you as an opportunity for them to benefit from. And when they expect for to you to vibe with them a certain way they expect and expectations aren't met, YOU ARE now the WEIRDEST, YOU ARE now A HORRIBLE PERSON, YOU THINK YOURE BETTER than them. I say this because it is EXTREMELY hard to find a decent therapist/life coach/social worker (you name it), let alone an incredible one since they're almost mythical or non-existent like unicorns. After meeting with constant terrible therapists who clearly did not care for my well-being (more so for his or her paycheck), I somehow was blessed with landing a session with Tamika. After my first session I felt so surprised. I had finally found the unicorn that I was searching for my whole life! I am currently enrolled in a Marriage and Family therapy program, so I wanted someone to truly help me find my path and purpose as well as heal me so that I can be an effective therapist myself. Well, Tamika did that and much more. Tamika helped me heal in ways that I cannot even fully put into words. Tamika guided me to find my soul and my passions in life. Tamika also helped me IMMENSELY as an up and coming therapist. She validated my concerns and reignited my soul again. I truly believe that people who are trying to find a therapist are consumers of mental health services and deserve to be given access to information about how previous clients have felt about the quality of care they received. Anne's gift lies in her ability to be present and support you with whatever you are dealing with in a truly non-judgemental way. I started seeing Anne three months after I lost my youngest son in utero only less than 3 weeks before his due date. It was the most devastating experience I have ever had. As much as my then 5-year-old son, my husband, my friends and family were all being extremely caring and supportive, it was a very difficult time for me. Anne was recommended to me as a therapist specialized in postpartum care. I saw several therapists before I decided to stay with Anne. I have seen my share of the mental health professionals -- for post traumatic stress disorder after 911 while I was in New York and after I left the city. So I know that not all therapists are created equal. The work with a therapist is so intimate that the perfect therapist for one person may not be right for another. I really like working with Anne. During our first appointment, she took a long time to listen to me (we spent two hours together during our initial session). She never rushed me and I found myself wanting to talk to her and almost always spent more than a hour (and sometime close to two hours) with her, which is a very different experience since I am so used to being cut short when my 50 minutes were up. I know that she tries to schedule my appointments on days that she does not have appointments immediately after and she has been flexible to accommodate my schedule. She is a great listener and appears to be well-versed in psychology literature. She provides helpful insights and steers our work into positive and productive directions. She listens without judgment and provides a safe environment for me to explore the feelings that I have been trying to avoid. With her help, I worked to move forward with our lives while dealing with the sadness, anger and grief and was able to go back to work. I am now able to cherish my memories and the little time I had with my baby angel boy and appreciate my sons, my husband and my friends and family even more. I hope no one should go through what we have been through, but life happens. I appreciate having her to help me through this difficult journey. She is very compassionate and yet professional. I would not hesitate to recommend her for postpartum depression or to women who experienced miscarriages or stillbirth. OK, I will take away half of a star because she does not take insurance at this time. But her rates are reasonable and she always takes her time with me. I submitted the superbill Anne prepared to my insurance carrier and was reimbursed by the insurance.

I couldn't even go to the first session because I completely broke down just looking at her mind map over the phone. Just sobbing. Emotionally exhausted from suppressing years of childhood trauma and domestic violence, she gently took me through her methods and I quit drinking and smoking effortlessly.
