This review is way over-due.
I give this place 3.75 stars, but I'm rounding up.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks straight in January 2011 so I'm more than familiar with the grounds and the service.
__Service: Amazing!!! 5 stars. They knew my name by the end of my stay and room service was quick.
__Cleanliness: 4 stars. They kept things neat, tidy and cleaned the room everyday. Sometimes, I was in the room while they cleaned. Awkward but hey, I needed to get some work done.
__Interior: 3 stars. The place is a bit run down. The furniture is old, the carpet is old and the place is in need of serious renovation. It feels like a time warp back to the 80s with emerald green carpet, peach furniture, and pink tiles in the bathroom.
The perk about this is that the you get amazing service, more hotel room space, for less money than the hotel next door, **ahem** the newer Marriott. I've stayed there too and the rooms are tiny, but newer over there.
This place is for you if you care about service and the amazing breakfast buffet. I can recall some days when I camped at the breakfast buffet for 2.5 hours and stuffed my face. I expected them to say something after the 5th day of doing it but nothing! No complaints! I ate all the eggs benedict, weisswurst, muesli and nutella that I possibly could over my stay.
If you don't mind the flowery curtains and the broken-in couch, this place is pretty comfortable. Their king-size bed is amazing and perfect to sleep away jetlag.
Surrounding amenities? A Tengelmann's market and a Wimmer bakery are just around the corner, and Muncher Freiheit is a brisk 15 minute walk away. read more
